Of the 2005 Condado de Haza Ribera del Duero,Wine Spectator writes: "This red packs a lot of flavor on a supple frame. Black cherry, blackberry, smoke, mineral and espresso notes show focus and depth, backed by firm but well-integrated tannins that dissolve on a finely etched, floral-scented finish. *Highly Recommended, Top 100 Wines of 2008*" (10/2008)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1994 Vega Sicilia "Unico" Ribera del Duero (96DC, 96RP, 96WS, 95ST, 95WE, 94JG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1994 Unico is a blend of 80% Tinto Fino, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot (presumably 2% is unknown varieties) that was picked from September 28. It is very intense with notes of raspberry, wild strawberry and mulberry with sensational minerality and vigor. There is a Margaux-like florality to the 1994 that blossom with aeration. The palate is rounded and supple on the entry with great weight and backbone. There is real substance here, similar to the 1996. It expands in the mouth with ravishing notes of blackberry, strawberry, citrus lemon, orange peel and a touch of cedar. There is enormous weight on the finish, a behemoth of a Unico. This is very potent, but it still requires several years in bottle. (NM)" (08/2012)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Spanish Tasting Lot, including 1-bottle of 2001 Alion (Vega Sicilia) Ribera del Duero (95RP, 95VN, 91W&S) and 1-bottle of 2001 Pintia (Vega Sicilia) Toro (95RP, 92DC, 92ST, 91WS). Of the 2001 Alion (Vega Sicilia) Ribera del Duero,Vinous writes: "Bright ruby-red. Musky aromas of currant, roasted herbs, Cuban tobacco, black olive and black pepper. Lush and supple but firmly built, with wonderfully velvety, multilayered flavors of outstanding depth. This combines the solid structure of a top Bordeaux with the sheer sweetness of fruit possible in Spain. As rich as this is, there's no impression of excess weight. The finish features very fine-grained tannins and outstanding palate-saturating persistence. Clearly the finest vintage to date for this wine. (ST)" (09/2005)

Bid on this bottle of 2011 Bodegas Muga "Prado Enea" Gran Reserva Rioja (99JS, 96RP, 96WE, 95JD, 94WS). James Suckling: "The most structured Prado Enea ever. A reduced center palate that is so compact with dark fruit, dark mushrooms and cedary spice. Full body. Wonderfully polished tannins and a long, long finish. Electric acidity. Muscular and well toned. The is a new classic that reminds me of great Spanish wines from the 1940s and 1950s. Better after 2021, but already so impressive." (07/2019)
Starting Bid: $60.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1970 CVNE "Viña Real" Gran Reserva Rioja (94JG, 94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1970s saw major changes in Rioja: the first "modern" wines were produced by Marqués de Cáceres, Remelluri and Contino, and the aging time in wood for wines was shortened in general. Until then, six years in barrique was the norm (almost the minimum) for reds, and this time was shortened during the 1970s and 1980s until the approximate two years of today. The breakdown by variety was about 40% Tempranillo, 40% Garnacha and 20% of the rest, mainly Mazuelo and Graciano. 1970 was a very famous vintage in Rioja, the one that provoked the extension of the vineyards...his was a very ripe vintage, and the wine seems to be aging faster than other vintages, with a little sweet fruit, ripe and fully resolved. The 1970 Viña Real Gran Reserva was bottled in February 1975. There was a bit of discussion about this wine, as it was one of the most anticipated vintages. At this age, of
