Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Il Poggione "Vigna Paganelli" Brunello di Montalcino Riserva (97RP, 96WE, 94ST, 92WS, 91JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna Paganelli is huge, powerful and totally implosive. The seductive allure of the 2007 is nowhere to be found. Instead, the 2006 is built on a serious spine of formidable tannin and dark red/black fruit. Hints of tar, licorice, rose petals and tobacco inform the powerful, virile finish. The 2006 is going to require considerable patience, but it is clearly a jewel of a wine, even at this early stage. (AG)" (04/2012)
Starting Bid: $176.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2016 Fèlsina "Fontalloro" Toscana (98JS, 98RP, 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Fontalloro is the best vintage of this landmark wine that I have tasted thus far. This is a very elegant vintage, with more volume in the mouth and precise notes of tar, licorice, camphor ash, resin and Indian spice. In a race between the highly competitive 2015 and 2016 vintages, I give a slight advantage to this wine. The warmer 2015 vintage shows more richness and exuberant fruit. However, this wine from 2016 offers a more focused and chiseled delivery. I am hopeful that this wine will continue to evolve and sharpen as it ages in the bottle. This is a beautiful wine to put aside in your cellar for ten years or more. (ML) 98+" (05/2019)

Of the 2013 Fontodi "Flaccianello della Pieve" Toscana,Vinous writes: "Fontodi's 2013 Flaccianello della Pieve is a fabulous, riveting wine that grabs hold of all the senses. There is plenty of the richness and textural depth that have always been a Fontodi signature, but in the more contemporary style that seeks to marry power and elegance. Readers will have to be patient, as the 2013 is still very much in its inky, primary stage. (AG)" (01/2018)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1988 Terrabianca "Vigna Della Croce" Chanti Classico Riserva (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1988 Chianti Reserva Croce reveals a saturated, opaque garnet/purple color, a huge nose of roasted hazelnuts, cedar, cassis, and truffles, and full body. The wine is wonderfully rich, expansive, and almost sweet because of the fruit's richness of fruit. (RP)" (10/1994)
Starting Bid: $30.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1985 & 1988 Monsanto "Il Poggio" Chianti Classico Riserva Tasting Lot, including 1-bottle of 1985 Monsanto "Il Poggio" Chianti Classico Riserva (94RP, 92ST) and 2-bottles of 1988 Monsanto "Il Poggio" Chianti Classico Riserva. Of the 1985 Monsanto "Il Poggio" Chianti Classico Riserva ,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "This single vineyard Chianti from one of Tuscany's legendary producers is the best wine Monsanto has produced since the glorious duo of 1970 and 1971. A late-released Tuscan 1985, the quality makes the wait worthwhile. It is expensive, but this is exemplary juice! A huge nose of cedar, roasted berries, herbs, and tobacco leaps from the glass with remarkable intensity. The mouthfeel is one of voluptuous, super-concentrated, multi-dimensional fruit, glycerin, and hefty alcohol. (RP)" (06/1993)

Of the 2010 Canalicchio di Sopra Brunello di Montalcino,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino will blow you away. This is a delightful expression that boasts its extreme quality from the minute the wine is poured from the bottle. As you should expect, it just gets better and better with each additional minute in the glass. It opens to a vibrant dark ruby color and blackish-garnet hues. The bouquet is ever changing and shows a long succession of aromatic characteristics that rage from dark fruit, plum, spice, leather, licorice, red rose, balsam and grilled herb. It's textbook Brunello from a great vintage and this side of the appellation (on the northeastern side)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1974 Poggio alle Mura Brunello di Montalcino. This vineyard is one of the hallmark properties of Castello di Banfi. It typically produces wines of large, regal scale by Brunello standards, although in the cool 1974 growing season, this power profile was scaled back a few degrees, endowing the wine with an uncharacteristic elegance.
Starting Bid: $150.00

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 1999 Casafrassi "XXI Secolo" Chianti Classico (95ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Dark garnet. Incredibly complex nose features nutmeg, cinnamon, glove leather and tobacco. Intense, compellingly sweet inner-mouth sensations of ripe plum fruit, bittersweet chocolate and briary berries. A persistent minerality bolsters the wine's grip, and the big tannins are velvety. Spicy oak weaves in and out of the lingering finish. This explosive unfiltered wine from old vines could easily pass for a top-notch Brunello. (EB)" (01/2002)

Of the 1995 Castello della Paneretta Chianti Classico Riserva,The 95 vintage has given us some great wines and this one is no exception. Paneretta has long been a favorite here at K&L and the 95 rivals the fruit of the 90. Paneretta has a unique signature of complex fruit and soil. The Tuscan soil gives wines such a unique backbone and spiciness that is unlike many other places on earth. This wine is best served with complex pasta dishes or roasted pork or pot roasted beef. A wine that is ready to drink now or you could age for another 5-8 years.

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Poggio Antico "Altero" Brunello di Montalcino (98JS, 95RP, 94ST, 93WE). James Suckling: "This is the best wine ever from Poggio Antico. Of the 2010 Casanova di Neri "Tenuta Nuova" Brunello di Montalcino,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "This is a gorgeous wine. The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova is just as impressive now as when I first tasted it three years ago. The only edit I would make to my original 100-point review is an extension to the drinking window. The bouquet is absolutely seamless, yet it shows pencil-point precision with dark fruit that flows into spice, tobacco and crushed mineral. The wine's aromatic intensity is forthright and compelling, as is the polished and fine nature of the mouthfeel. This is a cellar keeper. (ML)" (02/2018)

Elegant with great intensity, the radiant palate delivers juicy wild cherry, crushed berry, cinnamon and a note of star anise alongside a backbone of assertive, fine-grained tannins and bright acidity. It's a gorgeous wine with breeding and class that needs time to bloom fully. *Cellar Selection* (KO)" (05/2015)
