Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2005 Zind Humbrecht "Clos Windsbuhl" Riesling Alsace (90RP, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "With the 2005 Riesling Clos Windsbuhl we have not only very ripe flavors but also a hint of noble rot. Yet, neither the alcohol (13.75%) nor residual sugar (11 grams) is in itself noticeable. Old vines and 2005 vintage character – plus, Humbrecht insists, his biodynamic farming regimen – have resulted in uncanny balance. Lemon zest, honey, and musky, bittersweet narcissus and iris in the nose lead to a dense, overtly chalky and concentrated as well as pungently zest palate, wreathed in persistently bitter-sweet flowers. Crabapple, grapefruit, and brown spices inform a pungent, slightly tart, chalky, and quite severely penetrating finish. This is impressive but urgently in need of a few years in bottle before properly assessing its long-term potential, which is almost certainly to be considerable. (DS)" (02/2008)

Bid on this 375 ml 2-bottle lot of 2004 Dönnhoff Oberhäuser Brücke Riesling Eiswein Nahe (375ml) (99RP, 96WS, 95JG, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The first day’s Eiswein picking, December 21, yielded 2004 Oberhauser Brucke Riesling Eiswein A.P. #23. Smelling of a super concentrate and distillate of yellow plums, apricot and red raspberries, this displays enormous concentration, fat, thickness and sweetness on the palate while managing – thanks to its sheer density and spine-tingling citricity? no, make that electricity! – to be not at all cloying, and indeed positively animated. Warm cinnamon stick, vanilla, jellied red fruits, dried concentration of apple and plum, a wealth of citrus ? there is such concentration, complexity, purity and sheer length one becomes light-headed thinking about the sacrilege of trying to do it justice in a wine journal. (DS)" (10/2005)
Starting Bid: $280.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1990 Karthäuserhof Eitelsbacher Karthäuserhofberg Riesling Auslese Mosel. This was a great vintage for these weins, with Robert Parker rating the #23 92 points, in Feb. 1994: "The two finest wines I tasted from this estate included the 1992 Eitelsbacher Karthauserhof Riesling Auslese Fuder #10 and the 1990 Eitelsbacher Karthauserhof Riesling Auslese Fuder #23. The 1990 Fuder #23 reveals a character similar to the #10, with more of a cherry component to its bouquet, as well as denser, richer fruit and superb length. It has the potential to last for two decades."
Starting Bid: $180.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2002-2003 Zind-Humbrecht Riesling Alsace Tasting Lot, including 1-bottle of 2002 Zind Humbrecht Brand Riesling Grand Cru Alsace (94WS, (91-93ST)) and 3-bottles of 2003 Zind-Humbrecht Heimbourg Riesling Alsace. Of the 2002 Zind Humbrecht Brand Riesling Grand Cru Alsace,Wine Spectator writes: "Bold, full-bodied and ripe, with peach, quince and mineral aromas and flavors, this is concentrated and vivid, with the electric structure resonating on the palate. Dry and focused, it has a lingering finish of peach and mineral. (BS)" (07/2004)

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Joh. Jos. Prüm Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Auslese Mosel (95VN, 95WS, 94JG, (93-94RP), 94WE, 93W&S). Vinous: "Pale golden yellow. Restrained aromas of yellow plum, quince jelly and acacia honey, with a hint of spicy botrytis.Pure, rich and complex on the palate, with subtle nut oil and brown spice notes giving a lightness to the creamy custard flavor. The lift and delicacy persist on the bright, stylish, succulent and very long finish. (JP)" (01/2007)
