1998 Pasquero "Sori Paitin" Barbaresco (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 1998 Pasquero "Sori Paitin" Barbaresco (1.5L) (93ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep red. Sappy, vibrant aromas of dark berries, violet, bitter chocolate and mint. Lush, fleshy and packed with fruit flavors; concentrated and mouthfilling. This manages superb richness and layered texture with no loss of clarity. Finishes with fine, noble, palate-coating tannins and excellent persistence. A fine showing. (ST)" (11/2000)

2007 Elio Grasso "Runcot" Barolo Riserva
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Elio Grasso "Runcot" Barolo Riserva (98JS, 96VN, 95RP, 93WS, 90ST). James Suckling: "This shows amazing purity of fruit, with strawberries, flowers and cherries. Full-bodied, with superb tannins and fruit that goes on for minutes. It was aged for 45 months in 100 per cent new French oak barrels and you don't even sense any wood. Greatest wine ever made here? 6,000 bottles. Better in 2017." (11/2013)

2008 Roberto Voerzio Barolo La Serra
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Roberto Voerzio Barolo La Serra (96RP, 95WS, 92JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Barolo La Serra emerges from the glass with dark red fruit, tar, smoke, licorice, spices and new leather. Today the 2008 comes across as surprisingly dark and masculine. The high-toned floral notes that are typical of this site have been replaced by a much darker, brooding register filled with tar, incense and black fruit notes. The wine freshens up beautifully with time in the glass as the aromatics become a bit more expressive. Voerzio’s 2008 La Serra is a huge and hugely promising wine. The firm tannins argue for at least a few more years in bottle. A hint of rose petal lingers on the intense finish. (AG)" (04/2012)

1999 Bruno Giacosa "Le Rocche del Falletto di Serralunga" Barolo
Bid on this bottle of 1999 Bruno Giacosa "Le Rocche del Falletto di Serralunga" Barolo (97VN, 96RP, 95WS, 94ST, 93WE). Vinous: "The 1999 Barolo Le Rocche del Falletto is a knock out. Dark red cherry, plum, incense and orange peel are all very much alive in the glass. The 1999 Rocche is rich, sensual and powerful to the core, with fabulous depth, explosive fruit and captivating intensity. Because of its greater power and richness, the tannins are nearly buried by the fruit. Here, too, the 1999 has moved on from its primary stage, but it is not mature, either. Ideally, readers should wait another few years until the 1999 Rocche enters the next stage of its life. I have had the 1999 Rocche on many occasions. It has always been expressive, profound and moving. (AG)" (08/2014)

1996 Bruno Giacosa "Asili" Barbaresco Riserva
Bid on this bottle of 1996 Bruno Giacosa "Asili" Barbaresco Riserva (98RP, 97VN, 95WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The utterly perfect, dense ruby/purple-colored 1996 Barbaresco Asili (Red Label Riserva) is a heroic offering brilliantly displaying both power and elegance. The bouquet develops incrementally, offering up aromas of black raspberries, cherries, cigar box, licorice, and leather. The wine impresses with its nuances as well as its extraordinarily rich, dense mid-palate, and a finish that lasts nearly a minute. There is huge tannin, but equally massive concentration, extract, and overall harmony. (RP)" (06/2001)

2001 Gaja "Sperss" Nebbiolo Langhe
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Gaja "Sperss" Nebbiolo Langhe (95JD, 95RP, 95ST, 94WE, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2001 Sperss is the alter ego to the Conteisa. It is a decidedly powerful, virile wine with plenty of Serralunga muscle in its powerful, brooding personality. Tobacco, mint, crushed flowers, licorice and leather are some of the notes that add complexity and depth to the dark fruit. Layers of flavor build to the explosive finish. Readers will have to be patient with the Sperss. All it needs is time. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2031. (AG)" (04/2012)

2003 Giacomo Conterno "Cascina Francia" Barolo
Bid on this bottle of 2003 Giacomo Conterno "Cascina Francia" Barolo (94RP, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 Barolo Cascina Francia is a remarkable wine for the vintage. This deep, powerful Barolo reveals awesome richness and an almost liqueur-like quality to its fruit that is balanced by the chalky mineral notes that provide freshness on the finish and help convey an impression of notable balance. In 2003 there is no Monfortino, and the Cascina Francia surely benefits from the addition of that juice which is mostly felt in the wine’s depth. Resisting the temptation to harvest too early, Roberto Conterno waited until October 8 to start picking in his Cascina Francia vineyard, long after most producers had already brought the fruit in. He had the benefit of the late September rains that helped restore at least a little freshness to the fruit, and as a result his 2003 Cascina Francia doesn’t have the aggressive tannins that plague so many wines. Simply put, this is a stunn

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1998 Bruno Giacosa "Le Rocche del Falletto di Serralunga" Barolo (97JS, 95RP, 95ST, 93WS). James Suckling: "This is drinking so beautifully now with so much plum, licorice, and berry character. It's full body and very soft with polished tannins and a super long finish. The round texture ad decadent fruit is wonderful. " (06/2016)

1998 Gaja "Sperss" Nebbiolo Langhe
Bid on this bottle of 1998 Gaja "Sperss" Nebbiolo Langhe (95RP, 95ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the things I have learned over the years is that you can count on Angelo Gaja to make a strong showing in just about any tasting. Yes, I know, Sperss is not Barolo (a small percentage of Barbera is added), but at its core the wine captures the essence of Serralunga and is as representative of these hillside vineyards as any Barolo. Dark tar, smoke, leather, spices, menthol and black cherries all make an appearance in this muscular, full-throttle wine. While the vast majority of 1998 Barolos can be enjoyed today, the 1998 Sperss could use another few years in the cellar. It isn't a crime to open a bottle today, but this is one of the few 1998s that still has upside potential. Simply put, the 1998 Sperss is a jewel. (AG)" (03/2009)

2007 Antonio Vallana e Figlio Gattinara
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Antonio Vallana e Figlio Gattinara (94WE, 90VN). Wine Enthusiast: "This fragrant Nebbiolo opens with intense, ample aromas of kitchen spice, chopped herb, leather, dark-skinned berry, tilled soil and a whiff of pressed rose petal. On the firmly structured smooth palate, notes of licorice, cinnamon and truffle accent a core of juicy dark cherry. Polished tannins provide the framework while a mineral vein energizes the finish. Drink through 2022. (KO)" (12/2016)

2001 Giacomo Conterno "Cascina Francia" Barolo
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Giacomo Conterno "Cascina Francia" Barolo (94RP, 93JG, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2001 Barolo Cascina Francia has entered a period of extreme stubbornness, which has been my experience the several times I have tasted the wine recently. The sweet, candied notes that were once present in the bouquet have developed into a much more classic melange of roses, tar, licorice and red berries. The 2001 boasts tremendous structure, while some of the overt raciness that was present when the wine was young has dissipated. One of the bottles I tasted, from my cellar, only began to show some expressiveness after it had been opened for two days! The 2001 Cascina Francia is neither young nor mature, rather it is in an adolescent stage where the best option is to leave the bottles alone for at least a few more years. (AG) 94+" (04/2012)
