Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Montecastro Ribera del Duero (94RP, 91ST, 91WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The fabulous 2004 raises the bar even higher than the 2003. The perfume is even more expressive, the palate broader, richer, and more concentrtated, and the finish goes on for over one minute. (JM)" (02/2007)
Starting Bid: $70.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2003 Mas Doix Salanques, Priorat (OWC - 95RP) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 700 cases of the second wine, the 2003 Salanques, a blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Carignan, and 20% Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah. It is hard to believe this dazzling effort is made from declassified juice. The stunningly perfumed bouquet of raspberries and blackberries is followed by an elegant, medium to full-bodied, complex, nuanced wine with tremendous purity as well as a multilayered mid-palate and finish. Sweet tannin, fine acidity, and undeniable minerality suggest it will provide enjoyment now and over the next 10-12 years. Situated in the Priorat village of Poboleda, this winery continues to immensely impress. (RP)" (06/2005)
Starting Bid: $260.00

Bid on this bottle of 1996 Vega Sicilia "Unico" Ribera del Duero (96RP, 94ST, 93DC, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1996 Unico has a very pure, pastille-like bouquet with raspberry, wild strawberry, crushed stone and a touch of Chinese tea. It has impressive delineation and linearity. The palate is medium-bodied with filigree tannins. The fruit profile is shimmering in the glass with black cherries, cassis and blueberry notes. It is very feminine and powerful towards the poised, tensile finish that is long and seductive. One of the finest recent vintages, suffused with sensuality and opulence, the 1996 Unico is destined to be a great wine, one that might unfairly be over-shadowed by the 1994. 99,480 bottles produced. Drink 2020-2040+. (NM)" (08/2012)
Starting Bid: $322.00

Bid on this bottle of 2010 Lopez de Heredia "Viña Tondonia" Gran Reserva Rosado Rioja (94VN). Vinous: "Copper-tinted orange color. A wild, expansive bouquet displays an array of red fruit and floral qualities, along with hints of baking spices, vanilla, orange pith and toasted nuts. Stains the palate with gently sweet strawberry, tangerine, hazelnut pastry and candied rose flavors that are firmed by a spine of juicy acidity. Shows excellent depth as well as energy and finishes extremely long and silky, with resonating florality and a sappy red berry quality. (JR)" (06/2020)
Starting Bid: $150.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2005 La Rioja Alta "904" Gran Reserva Rioja (96RP, 96WE, 95JS, 94VN, 93W&S, 92WS, 90DC). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Gran Reserva 904 is a superb blend of Tempranillo from the villages of Briñas, Labastida and Villalba with 10% Graciano from Briones and Rodezno. The grapes were destemmed and crushed and fermented in stainless steel for 18 days at 25 C. Malolactic fermentation was spontaneous and lasted 38 days. These wines are marked by a long aging in used American oak barrels following the most strict Riojan tradition; four years during which time the wine was manually racked eight times. This is usually my favorite wine from La Rioja Alta and 2005 is one of its best showings, going back to the quality of the vintages of the 1950s and 60s. The nose is very balsamic with notes of camphor, hints of mint, leather and hung game wrapped around a core of cherries in liqueur. Together it is balanced, subtle, truly elegant and classical. The palate is

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Bodega Contador "La Cueva del Contador" Rioja (93VN, 92JS, 91DC). Vinous: "Youthful purple. A complex, oak-spiced bouquet displays ripe boysenberry and cherry, candied violet, cola and mocha scents lifted by a vibrant mineral flourish. Deeply concentrated yet lively as well, offering intense dark fruit preserve, cola and spicecake flavors that show excellent delineation and floral lift. Manages to be rich as well as lively and finishes very long and alluringly sweet, leaving allspice and vanilla notes behind. (JR)" (02/2019)
Starting Bid: $80.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Vega Sicilia "Unico" Ribera del Duero (OWC - 99JS, 98DC, 98VN, 97RP, 96WS) in original wood. James Suckling: "This is still very tight and closed with so much depth and beauty. The linear line to this is very vertical and draws you down. It shows intense blackberry, dark-chocolate, hazelnut and walnut character. Full body. Chewy yet extremely polished. Precise. Shows decadence. So drinkable already, but better in 2022." (12/2019)
Starting Bid: $650.00
