Bid on this bottle of 2006 Krug Brut Champagne (97DC, 97RP, 97VN, 97WS, 96JS, 94W&S). Vinous: "The 2006 Krug Vintage is fabulous. Here the richness, breadth and texture of Pinot come through loud and clear in a Champagne that is classic Krug. Red plum, coffee, spice, baked apple tart and lemon confit all flesh out effortlessly in the glass. The ripeness of the year is evident, and yet the vibrancy of the Chardonnay lends so much energy. The 2006 can be enjoyed today, but also has the balance and stuffing to develop well for many years to come. This is a superb showing from the 2006. (AG)" (09/2020)
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Pol Roger "Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill" Brut Champagne.
Bid on this bottle of 1996 Bollinger R.D. Extra Brut Champagne (97JS, 97WE, 96VN, 95DC, 94W&S, 94WS). Wine Enthusiast: " The Bollinger R.D. (recently disgorged) is Bollinger's answer to a prestige cuvée. Keeping the wine long on its lees (this was disgorged in June 2006) yields a wine that is very much in the rich Bollinger style. This is a beautifully balanced wine, with acidity, intensity and structure in perfect harmony. It is still so young, and certainly could age for years. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (11/2006)
Bid on this bottle of 1996 Krug Brut Champagne (100W&S, 99ST, 99WS, 98VN, 97JG, 97RP, 96DC). Wine & Spirits: "It's hard to imagine how a wine of this power can sustain perfect balance. What is now a more nonchalant intensity in the aroma was, in fact, too much to handle when we tasted this last year, as if the wine had no time for mere humans with their limited sense receptors. If you stop to taste ripe pear, ginger spice, apple blossom and butterscotch the wine leaves you lost in random flavor descriptors as it soars off into a vinous glow that lasts for minutes. This may well be the greatest vintage wine of Henri Krug's career (unless it is challenged by the 2002). It is impossible to predict how long this wine will thrive in bottle, though considering the current fine condition of the 1959 Krug, the first 50 years are a given." (12/2008)
