Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1998 Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac (96RP, 96VN, 95WS, 94DC, 94ST). Vinous: "The 1998 Lafite-Rothschild is served from double magnum directly from the château reserves, in fact with the man who made it sitting opposite me – Charles Chevalier. I must admit to being quite amazed how well this shows at 20-years of age, trouncing all the other First Growths except Haut-Brion. Lucid in colour, it has a vivid bouquet of pure blackberry, blueberry, vanilla and graphite, perhaps just a little uncharacteristically showy in style, but beautifully defined and intense. The palate is perfectly balanced with layers of ripe black fruit, perfectly pitched acidity and a silky smooth texture that renders this utterly seductive. It is almost too good for me to recommend cellaring longer. Whatever...it is a sublime Lafite-Rothschild that on this showing, may well challenge the supremacy of the 1996. Tasted at the Académie du Vin dinner in Bordeaux. (NM)" (07/2018)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1998 Pavie, St-Emilion (96JD, 95RP, 95W&S, 93JG, 93WS, 92ST, 92VN). Jeb Dunnuck: "The first vintage for Gérard Perse, the 1998 Pavie is drinking beautifully today and offers a layered, rich, yet seamless and elegant character. Blackcurrants, new leather, tobacco, chocolate, and dried flowers characteristics all emerge from this beauty and it has sweet tannins, a flamboyant, sexy texture, and no hard edges." (12/2018)

Bid on this bottle of 1998 Bruno Giacosa "Le Rocche del Falletto di Serralunga" Barolo (97JS, 95RP, 95VN). James Suckling: "This is drinking so beautifully now with so much plum, licorice, and berry character. It's full body and very soft with polished tannins and a super long finish. The round texture ad decadent fruit is wonderful. " (06/2016)
Starting Bid: $170.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1998 Araujo "Eisele Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92RP, 91ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard was bottled earlier than usual as this vintage is not as massive or concentrated as its predecessors. To my palate, the 1998 is good, although I am not convinced it will be long lived. There are 2,300 cases of this 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit-Verdot, and 3% Cabernet Franc blend. It is supple and elegant, with a complex, evolved bouquet of smoke, black currants, spice box, and cedar. In the mouth, the wine is forward with sweet tannin, gorgeously rich, concentrated fruit, and impressively integrated acidity and tannin. (RP)" (12/2000)
Starting Bid: $350.00

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 1998 Conn Creek "Anthology" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend. A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 4% Malbec, this Bordeaux Blend shows red cherry fruit, is fresh and rich on the palate with a long balanced finish.
Starting Bid: $100.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1998 Paolo Scavino "Bric del Fiasc" Barolo (94WS, 93ST, 92RP). Wine Spectator: "Dark ruby color, with some garnet undertones. The nose shows ripe plum, as well as green coffee bean character. Full-bodied, with very soft and round tannins and ripe fruit. Turns to coffee, sweet tobacco and berries on the finish. Give it another couple years to mellow. 1998 Piedmont blind retrospective. (Web-2008)"
Starting Bid: $210.00

Bid on this bottle of 1998 Marcassin "Blue Slide Ridge" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (98RP, 93WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1998 Pinot Noir Blue Slide Ridge exhibits a grand cru Burgundy-like perfume of plum liqueur intermixed with soy, underbrush, and roasted meats in a more foresty, autumnal style than the 1999, 2000, and 2001. There is sweet black cherry fruit as well as a pronounced earthy, animal-like character to this wine. (RP)" (08/2002)
Starting Bid: $190.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1998 Paolo Scavino "Cannubi" Barolo (94ST, (91-93RP), 93VN). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Full, deep red. Scented, liqueur-like aromas of red fruits, dried rose and mint. Sweet, sappy and liqueur-like in the mouth, with ripe acids framing the powerful fruit. A wonderfully vibrant, perfumed '98, finishing long and highly aromatic, with notes of raspberry, cherry, rose petal and menthol. A knockout. (ST)" (11/2002)
Starting Bid: $255.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1998 Domaine Ponsot Clos de la Roche Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes (91BH, 91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More evolved than the ageless 1999, the 1998 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru Cuvée Vieilles Vignes is approaching full maturity, wafting from the glass with a classy bouquet of dried strawberries, cassis, sweet forest floor, potpourri and cinnamon. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, satiny and expansive on the attack, with tangy acids and seemingly melted tannins that turn chalky and assert themselves on the tense, stony finish. (WK)" (10/2018)
Starting Bid: $610.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1998 Le Clos du Caillou Côtes-du-Rhône-Villages. Jeb Dunnuck on Le Clos du Caillou in Wine Advocate: "Located on the eastern edge of the appellation, in the Courthezon district, they produce up to three Chateauneufs (Les Safres, Les Quartz and the Cuvee Reserve) in any vintage. In addition, they produce a white Chateauneuf du Pape and a number of smoking Cotes du Rones, which come from vineyards bordering Chateauneuf du Pape (identical terroir, actually) and are top- quality."
