Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1994 Domaine La Casenove Côtes du Roussillon. From David Schildknecht for the Wine Advocate: "Ex-photo journalist Etienne Montes keeps innovating despite his veteran status, as witness his new white blend reviewed here. And with the youngest vines (Syrah) on his more than hundred acre property south of Perpignan having passed their first decade, he will no doubt be adjusting his palette to accommodate their fruit’s increasing usefulness. What hasn’t changed here is not just Montes’ searching quality-consciousness but also his determination to give each wine the elevage he thinks it deserves, and even after bottling not to release any wine until he thinks is best for it, even when that might seem surprisingly late."
Starting Bid: $90.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1994 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95DC, 95WS, 94VN, 93RP). Wine Spectator: "This is a smooth, rich, dark and polished Montelena--in short a grand wine--with remarkable depth, richness and concentration. The purity of currant, mineral, black cherry and anise is deliciously focused and the tannins are ripe and supple, making this a very approachable wine, even at this stage. (JL)" (11/2004)
Starting Bid: $205.00

Bid on this bottle of 1994 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (97VN, 96RP, 92WS). Vinous: "A wine that takes over all the senses, Dunn's 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is a drop-dead gorgeous beauty. New leather, smoke and spices are some of the many notes that develop in the glass, adding complexity and character. This is an especially powerful, brooding vintage for the Howell Mountain. All the elements fall into place effortlessly. The 1994 is rich, broad, ample and incredibly expressive today. What a wine. (AG)" (02/2014)
Starting Bid: $170.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1994 Latour, Pauillac ((92-94ST), 92RP, 91WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Very deep ruby-red. Pungent, inky, nutty aromas of blackcurrants and minerals; very sexy oak treatment gives the nose a wonderful sweetness. Big, minerally, and shapely, with lovely purity of dark berry flavor. Has clarity and grip, but not quite the richness of the '95. The tannins build in the glass, but are in harmony with the wine's middle palate material. Uncanny length for the vintage. (ST)" (05/1996)
Starting Bid: $1,155.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1994 Domaine de la Janasse "Vieilles Vignes" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1994 Cuvee Vieilles Vignes is a full-bodied, deep wine with great stuffing, glycerin, smoke, kirsch, and cherry fruit, as well as more alcohol. It is a terrific young Chateauneuf du Pape that is already surprisingly developed and delicious. The wine hits the palate broadside with fruit, followed by plenty of ripeness, richness, and purity. There is some tannin, but the overall impression is one of gloriously ripe, rich fruit presented in a velvety-textured, beautifully well-focused format. (RP)" (12/1996)
Starting Bid: $160.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1994 Margaux, Margaux (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The nose is intriguing: very open with a touch of mulch, graphite, mint and crushed flowers, very “old school”...hints of juniper. It is very well balanced and fresh, quite crisp with slight hints of undergrowth and tar. It trails off a little towards the finish, but maintains good balance. It is a little sharp and a little dry on the finish, but is drinking perfectly now. (NM)" (03/2012)
Starting Bid: $1,051.11

Bid on this bottle of 1994 Opus One Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (96VN, 95DC, 92RP). Vinous: "What a pleasure it is to taste and drink the 1994 Opus One. Far better than a bottle I had last year, this bottle is absolutely terrific. Voluptuous, sexy and layered to the core, the 1994 races across the palate with superb depth and pure class. (AG)" (10/2014)
