2001 Lokoya Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon (3L)
Bid on this 3 liter of 2001 Lokoya Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon (3L) (100RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An utterly perfect wine that exemplifies this extraordinary vintage for North Coast Bordeaux varietals is the 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder, which comes from the Jackson family’s Veeder Peak Vineyard. Unfortunately, slightly less than 300 cases were produced, so availability is limited. A dense opaque blue/purple color is followed by notes of lead pencil shavings, ink, blueberry liqueur, raspberries and black currants. The wine is super intense as well as extremely full-bodied and opulent with great structure, purity and density. (I know this sounds weird, but when I smelled and tasted it, it reminded me of the 2010 La Mission Haut Brion that I had tasted a month earlier, no doubt because of its volcanic/hot rock-like character.) This phenomenal wine is a modern day legend from Napa. Still a youngster in terms of its development, it should hit its peak in another 5-6 ye

1975 Prieure Lichine, Margaux (3L)
Bid on this 3L-bottle lot of 1975 Prieure Lichine, Margaux (3L). The estate was founded as the Prieuré de Cantenac around the year 1000, and for many years was a stopping point for pilgrims on the road to Santiago de Compostela. While vines were certainly planted from the 12th Century, the conversion of the property to a full-scale wine estate took place in the 1700s. Its current name refers to noted winemaker Alexis Lichine, who owned the estate from 1951 until his death in 1989. Ranked as a Fourth Growth in the official Bordeaux Classification of 1855, it's regarded as one of Margaux's most consistent producers and is known for its elegance and suppleness, derived in part from the relatively high proportion of Merlot in the blend.

2012 Caymus "40th Anniversary" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (3L)
Bid on this 3 liter 1-bottle lot of 2012 Caymus "40th Anniversary" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (3L) (96RP, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "They appear to be immune to some of winedom’s less than intelligent trends and fads that we see from time to time, and the result is a spectacular 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon 40th Anniversary offering. Its dense purple/black color is followed by copious quantities of crème de cassis and blackberry fruit, silky tannins, a voluptuous texture and stunning purity as well as length. This full-bodied effort is a fabulous example of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon as well as a tribute to this amazing family. It is so good now, why wait? However, I’m sure that like most vintages of Caymus, it will last for 20-25 years. Amazing! (RP)" (10/2014)

1989 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (3L) (OWC)
Bid on this 3L-bottle of 1989 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (3L) (OWC - 97JD, 97RP, 97WS, 93JG) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1989 is inkier/purple in color than the 1990, with an extraordinarily sweet, rich personality offering up notes of smoke, melted licorice, black cherries, Asian spices, and cassis. Full-bodied and concentrated, it is one of the most powerful as well as highly extracted Beaucastels I have ever tasted. It requires another 3-4 years to reach its plateau of maturity, where it should remain for at least two decades. (RP)" (01/2003)
