2010 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2010 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L) (97JD, 96RP, 96VN, 94ST, 94WS). Jeb Dunnuck: "A thrill ride of a wine, the profound 2010 Saxum James Berry Vineyard, tasted out of barrel, looks to be every bit as good as the ’09 and the ‘07. Exotic, perfumed, and intense, it delivers riveting aromas of blackberry liqueur, lilac, violet, licorice, and mineral like qualities that flow to a seamless, perfectly proportioned wine that is beautifully concentrated, layered, and incredibly long. It’s hard to find fault here, and this has a rich, supple texture that somehow stays light, elegant, and focused. While this will be hard to resist on release, it should ideally be given 4-7 years of bottle age, with a total drink window of 20-25 years not being out of the question. If this note is not clear enough for you, let me be as direct as possible - don’t miss this wine!" (06/2012)

2009 M. Chapoutier "Le Méal" Ermitage Rouge (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2009 M. Chapoutier "Le Méal" Ermitage Rouge (1.5L) (100RP, 97WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Even inkier in color than the 2010, the 2009 Ermitage le Meal is as good as Hermitage gets. Locked and loaded with phenomenal notes of jammy black raspberries, creme de cassis, crushed violets, smoked earth and spice, it's thick and unctuous on the palate, with incredible density, a huge mid-palate and a layered, multi-dimensional, seamless, elegant texture that just keeps you coming back and begging for another sip. More hedonistic and voluptuous than the 2010, it should still evolve for just as long, yet have even a broader drink window. Drink 2015-2049. (JD)" (09/2015)

1993 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 1993 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (95RP, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1993 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain reveals an opaque black color, huge tannin, terrific purity, and density, a broad, heavyweight mouthfeel, and gobs of ripe tannin. It is a massive Cabernet Sauvignon that requires a decade of cellaring - at the minimum. (RP)" (12/1996)

Wine Enthusiast: "A stupendous wine that epitomizes the Harlan style of grace and power. Shows how the most elaborate vineyard and winery practices can contribute to a near-perfect wine, even in a less heralded vintage. The flavors cascade in endless tiers, black currant, cherry, mocha, Indian pudding, oak and spice, all coming together in a minute-long finish. Magnificent. *Cellar Selection* " (11/2004)

1974 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this 1.5 liter 1-bottle lot of 1974 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (98RP, 97JG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I had this wine twice over a period of thirty days, rating it an astounding 99 and 98 points. A monumental California Cabernet Sauvignon, it appears to have approached its plateau of maturity but should easily last for 20-25 more years. There is no rust, amber, or brown to the saturated dark purple color. The spectacular, huge, Mouton-Rothschild-like nose of mint, cassis, lead pencil, and toast is remarkably youthful. Staggeringly concentrated, this full-bodied, super-rich wine possesses moderate tannin, fresh, lively acidity, and a blockbuster, rich, fleshy finish. This is a monumental effort! (RP)" (08/1994)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More masculine, black fruit-driven, mineral and ripe than the 1990, the 1989 Chateauneuf du Pape is a full-bodied, structured and chewy effort that's fully mature, yet has the concentration and depth to continue evolving nicely. Bid on this magnum of 2013 Next of Kyn (Sine Qua Non) "Cumulus Vineyard No. 7" Central Coast Red Blend (1.5L) (99JD, 99VN, 97RP). Vinous: "The 2013 Next of Kyn - No. 7 Cumulus Vineyard is a real stunner. Rich, explosive and overwhelmingly beautiful, it takes hold of all the senses and never lets go. Even with all of its power and richness, the 2013 retains striking aromatic lift and energy. I would give it another few years to settle down, but it is superb today. This is an extraordinary wine by any measure. Don't miss it. In 2013, the blend is 45% Syrah, 29% Grenache, 15% Petite Sirah, 5% Mourvèdre, 4.5% Touriga Nacional and 1.5% Roussanne, done with 58% whole clusters and aged for 30 months in French oak. Bid on this magnum of 2008 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L) (98JD, 98RP, 97WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 James Berry Vineyard (52% Grenache, 31% Mourvedre, and 17% Syrah) saw some of its Grenache aged in the concrete eggs that are now catching on among some of the top producers on California’s Central Coast. With strong minerality from the limestone soil, this exuberant, fleshy, full-bodied wine is already drinking well. (I believe it was actually bottled just a day or two before my visit, which makes its performance that much more remarkable.) Dense purple, with sweet notes of barbecue smoke and meats as well as roasted herbs, extravagant black cherry, black currant, and blackberry fruit are all present in this wine, but there is plenty of underlying structure that comes from both the minerality and the Mourvedre component. Pure, full-bodied, but again, impressively elegant and nuanced, this is a tour de force and another prodigious exa

Bid on this magnum of 2016 Schrader "Colesworthy - Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (OWC - 97RP) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard Colesworthy opens with ripe, rich, bold crème de cassis, preserved plums and baked blueberries scents with hints of cumin seeds, star anise, mincemeat pie, mocha and new leather with wafts of tobacco, cedar and black tea. Bid on this magnum of 2015 Realm "Beckstoffer To Kalon" Napa Valley Cabernet Franc (1.5L) (98JD, 98RP, 97JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The first vintage of this new wine from Realm, the 2015 Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard Cabernet Franc (a blend of 75% Cabernet Franc and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, co-fermented) reveals a very deep garnet-purple color and a beautiful nose of black raspberries, red currants, kirsch and wild blueberries with pencil shavings, bouquet garni and forest floor nuances. Full-bodied and richly fruited in the mouth, it has a firm frame of fine-grained tannins and plenty of freshness to support the generous red and blue fruits, finishing long and earthy. Bid on this magnum of 2009 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L) (98JD, 98RP, 97JS, 97WS, 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Simply put, the 2009 James Berry Vineyard is one of the greatest young wines I have ever tasted from California, or anywhere for that matter. Bright, floral aromatics lead to expressive red fruit in this impossibly elegant, dazzling wine. A melange of rose petals, mint and licorice follows as the James Berry shows off its breathtaking clarity and finesse. Fine-grained, chalky tannins frame the exceptional finish. Frankly, I am surprised this is the first wine of the tasting. Where does one go from here? The 2009 James Berry is a bit of departure from previous vintages. This is the highest percentage of Grenache ever used in the blend, and a large portion of the Grenache was aged in concrete, an approach Smith has borrowed from producers in the Rhone. Originally Smith had intended to age less of the Grenache components in concrete, but th

Vinous: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Backus Vineyard has really blossomed over the last year. A glorious, towering Cabernet Sauvignon offers super depth an intensity, with the voluptuous personality of the vintage on full display. Sweet red cherry, pomegranate, mocha and espresso all flesh out in the glass. The Backus is not as open nor expressive as the Insignia is today, but it is tremendous in its beauty and overall pedigree. This is a terrific example of contemporary Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. This is the last vintage made from the vineyards that were planted in 1975. (AG)" (10/2015)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Still a young wine at age 12, the 2001 Insignia exhibits a dense purple color along with a sweet bouquet of camphor, blackberries, cassis, incense and spring flowers. Full-bodied, rich and heady with sweet tannin, stunning concentration and a fabulous finish, this remarkable Insignia has 25 or more years of life ahead of it. (RP) 98+" (11/2013)

Bid on this magnum of 2009 Alban "Reva" Edna Valley Syrah (1.5L) ((96-97JS), 97RP, 97VN, 93ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Moving on to the vineyard designated Syrahs and a fantastic vintage for this cuvee, which goes back to the 2005, 2006 and 2007 levels of richness, the 2009 Syrah Reva (100% Syrah aged 42-months in French oak) offers up more fruit and purity than normal, with only hints of its normal iodine/seaweed tinged profile. Loaded with sweet black raspberry, cassis, wild herbs, flowers and subtle blood and iodine qualities, it is a full-bodied, decadent Syrah that has incredible mid-palate depth, beautiful freshness and a blockbuster finish. It will continue to gain in depth and richness with short-term cellaring and have an easy 12-15 years or ultimate longevity. Drink 2015-2024. (JD)" (08/2013)

Explosively perfumed cherry-cola, dark berry liqueur, incense and mineral aromas show superb clarity and depth, with a sexy floral quality building with air. Offers palate-staining black raspberry and spicecake flavors that become sweeter and deeper with air. This rich but strikingly lithe and tensile pinot deftly plays power and depth off of vivacity and finishes sweet, youthfully tannic and extremely long. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another compelling, perfect wine is the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer to Kalon Vineyard Old Sparky. This is Clone 4 and Clone 6, as well as Clone 337, blended together from the Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard, aged in 100% new Darnajou barrels. For whatever reason, this wine seems to show more chocolate, espresso roast, barbecue smoke, dense blackberry and blueberry fruit and enormous body with not a touch of heaviness or astringency. This is a fabulous offering. It should drink well for 20-25 years. (RP)" (10/2014)

Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 1994 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (OWC - 100RP, 98ST, 97VN, 96WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " What can I say about the 1994? I have tasted the wine for three consecutive years, and each time it satisfied all of my requirements for perfection. The opaque purple color is followed by spectacular aromatics that soar from the glass, offering up celestial levels of black currants, minerals, smoked herbs, cedar wood, coffee, and pain grille. In the mouth, this seamless legend reveals full body, and exquisite layers of phenomenally pure and rich fruit, followed by a 40+ second finish. While accessible, the 1994 begs for another 5-7 years of cellaring. It should easily last for 30+ years. Every possible jagged edge - acidity, alcohol, tannin, and wood - is brilliantly intertwined in what seems like a diaphanous format. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another great showing for this under-rated estate, the 1961 L'Eglise-Clinet displayed a saturated, opaque garnet color with some amber/rust at the edge. A huge nose of soy sauce, grilled meats, mocha, chocolate, and jammy cherry fruit is followed by a full-bodied wine with excellent richness, length, and balance. There’s something about this vineyard that just seems to hit all the sweet spots on my palate, so I adore just about everybody’s wine that comes from this source. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Shafer’s flagship wine, and one of the world’s greatest Cabernet Sauvignons, is the Hillside Select, which comes from the rocky, volcanic soils on hillsides above the winery. Vineyard production is small, and the wine an incredible example of Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged in 100% new oak for 32 months and bottled unfiltered, this can generally be expected to be one of the top dozen or so Cabernet Sauvignons in virtually any vintage in Napa, and certainly possesses 25 to possibly 50 years of aging potential. The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select is a perfect wine. Bid on this magnum of 2011 Saxum "Bone Rock - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Syrah (1.5L) (97RP, 97VN, 95ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Syrah James Berry Vineyard Bone Rock opens in the glass with complex aromas of ripe black fruits, rich spice, cracked pepper, licorice and savory notions of grilled meats. On the palate, it's full-bodied, fine-grained and intensely concentrated, with a firm, tight-knit core and unusual energy. The finish is long, precise and penetrating. While the 2011 vintage tends to be tainted by association with the challenges producers faced on California's North Coast, conditions were not so adverse in Paso Robles: at Saxum, the year seems to have produced some of the most tight-knit wines of Justin Smith's career, and the wines have the potential to be unusually long-lived. Bid on this magnum of 2015 Maison Olivier Bernstein Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru (1.5L) (OWC - 96VN, 95ST, (91-93BH)) in original wood. Vinous: "The 2015 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru has a gorgeous, seductive, complex bouquet of intermingled layers of red and black fruit and touches of sous-bois, sage and rose petals. The palate is finely tuned and a little oaky at the moment, though the oak will be soaked up with time. This is well balanced, displaying a fine bead of acidity, impressive precision and a very persistent finish that is pure joy. An outstanding Mazis from Bernstein. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. (NM)" (11/2018)

Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2003 Merry Edwards Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (1.5L) (92WS). Wine Spectator: "Intense and concentrated, with ripe, rich layers of plum, blackberry and black cherry fruit, accented by mineral and pebble flavors. On the finish, the tannins are firm, giving it excellent structure. (JL)" (06/2006)

2013 Cayuse "Wallah Wallah Special #5" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (1.5L)
Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2013 Cayuse "Wallah Wallah Special #5" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (1.5L) (96RP, 93VN, 93WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the most complete, layered and elegant 2013s from Cayuse is the 2013 Syrah Walla Walla Special #5, which is made from two separate parcels that remind Christophe of the northern Rhone’s Jamet brother’s Cote Rotie. He also keeps the price low as a thank you to his customers. Giving up classic cool climate notes of green olives, black cherries, scorched earth, ash and ripe herbs, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness, no hard edges, incredibly fine tannin and a finish that just keeps going. I thoroughly enjoyed drinking it today, but it will be better with 4-5 years of cellaring and have two decades or more of overall longevity. (JD)" (06/2016)

1995 Dunn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 1995 Dunn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (94RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The saturated black/purple-colored 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon possesses a promising yet backward nose of minerals, lead pencil, and blackberries/cassis. The wine was bottled in June, but it is showing no ill effects. This mammoth offering displays extraordinary concentration and purity, as well as a thick, unctuous texture with high tannin levels. It will evolve for 30-50 years. (RP)" (12/1998)

Bid on this magnum of 1991 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (100RP, 98VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An extraordinary dense plum/purple color is followed by a seductive as well as explosive bouquet of white chocolate, creme de cassis, spring flowers, licorice and a touch of graphite. This full-bodied, opulent 1991 reveals a flawless integration of acidity, tannin, wood and alcohol. Magnificent in the mouth with an opulent and voluptuous texture, and not a hard edge to be found, it reveals mindboggling purity and vigor. This sensational Insignia can be enjoyed over the next 10-15+ years. (RP)" (11/2013)

1996 Dunn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 1996 Dunn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (94RP, 91ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The opaque blue/purple-colored 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa boasts an exceptional nose of creme de cassis, minerals, and spice. It takes at least a decade for wines such as this to begin to reveal more identity and vintage character. The cassis/blackberry liqueur-like fruit are present, as are mouthsearing levels of tannin and impressive extract. This blockbuster should be at its peak between 2010-2040. If Godzilla drank California Cabernet Sauvignon, would there be any doubt as to what choice it would be? … These are obviously more than 20-25 year wines. It is not far-fetched to suggest that Randy Dunn is producing Cabernet Sauvignons that, in top vintages, will be fresh, lively, and rich in fruit at age 50. Unbelievably, Randy Dunn has barely raised his prices in the two decades he has been making wine. For those with patience, these are among the finest val

2013 Schrader "Old Sparky" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2013 Schrader "Old Sparky" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (100RP, 98JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Old Sparky, which is essentially made from clone 4 from two separate blocks, clone 6 and clone 337, is another perfect wine from the Schraders. I suppose it’s a little boring to say, and perhaps I can be accused of creating unrealistic expectations on the part of readers, but this is as great as Cabernet can be. Tasting like a first-growth Pauillac, the wine is opaque purple and has a fabulous nose of lead pencil, spring flowers, blueberry and blackberry and the telltale cassis. There is also some licorice and sweet oak, the tannins are ripe, and the wine full-bodied. Built like a skyscraper, with an incredible finish (like most of these wines) going on for 50 seconds to a minute, this amazing wine should still be drinking splendidly well at age 25 or 30. 2012 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2012 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1.5L) (97WS, 96JD, 96RP, 94VN). Wine Spectator: "A stunner, with a gorgeous cassis aroma that soars from the glass, reinforced by a core of cassis, cherry and plum pâte de fruit, hoisin sauce, warm ganache and well-roasted apple wood notes. Hefty, but suave and seamless. The finish lets graphite and licorice elements glide through. The structure is dense, polished and perfectly integrated, resulting in lovely length. Should be a beauty after cellaring. Best from 2017 through 2032. *Collectibles* (JM)" (09/2014)

1997 Cardinale Napa Valley Red Wine (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 1997 Cardinale Napa Valley Red Wine (1.5L) (95RP, 93ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 3,900 cases of the prodigious 1997 Cardinale, comprised primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon with a tiny dollop of Merlot. The wine has an opaque bluish black/purple color, a knockout nose of black cherry liqueur intermixed with cassis, lead pencil, mineral, and smoky oak. The glorious richness in the mouth is backed up by a full-bodied, opulently-textured, super-extracted wine that is neither heavy nor ponderous. Stunning purity, a fabulous multi-layered impression, and a finish that goes on for nearly a minute make this the most exciting Cardinale to date. (RP)" (12/2000)

2015 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2015 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (98VN, 95RP). Vinous: "One of the highlights in this tasting, the 2015 Monte Bello will soon take its place among the greatest Monte Bellos ever made. Powerful, deep and explosive, the 2015 possesses magnificent concentration and richness in every dimension. Even with all of its raciness, the 2015 has terrific aromatic presence and regal tannins. The 2015 is a bit less showy than it has been in the past, but it was also just bottled two weeks before this tasting. Readers who own it will be absolutely thrilled. (AG) 98+" (08/2017)
