2010 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (97JS, 97VN, 96ST, 96W&S). Vinous: "The 2010 Monte Bello is just as stunning as it has always been. Today, the 2010 appears to be entering a closed phase, so it is best left alone for at least another 5-10 years, perhaps longer. The signatures are super-ripe, exotic fruit, sweet aromatics and firm tannins, all of which ensure the 2010 will be utterly magnificent in a few decades. The growing season was characterized by mostly cold weather, with an unexpectedly intense heat spike in mid-October that gave the fruit a final push. One of the things that makes this vintage so compelling is the interplay of firm structural elements from the cold year and a high level of ripeness that was achieved late. In my view, the 2010 is one of the most thrilling recent Monte Bellos, however it won't be ready to drink for a number of years and it won't peak for quite some time beyond that. (AG) 97+" (0

James Suckling: "This has such an amazing purity of fruit of strawberries, raspberries and hints of lemons. Full body, yet super refined and elegant. It's endless in the mouth with bright berries and hints of citrus. Ultra-fine tannins. Gorgeous undertone of acidity." (11/2012)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Shafer "Relentless" Napa Valley Syrah (97RP, 95WS, 93VN, 92WE, 91CG, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The extraordinary 2010 Relentless (96% Syrah and 4% Petite Sirah) offers up notes of graphite, subtle wood charcoal, barbecue smoke, blackberry, blueberry and raspberry fruit, and hints of spice and meat. This full-bodied, supple-textured, exceptionally rich Syrah already has a certain accessibility, but should age well for two decades. (RP)" (10/2013)

Bid on this bottle of 2010 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars "Artemis" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (91RP, 90WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Artemis is laced with sweet red berries, plums, flowers, mint and cloves. It is an attractive, medium-bodied wine to drink over the next decade plus, once the tannins begin to soften. Today the 2010 is a bit compact. The Artemis is made from both estate and purchased fruit. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025. (AG)" (12/2012)

2010 Montrose, St-Estèphe
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Montrose, St-Estèphe (100RP, 98DC, 97JS, 97WS, 96WE, 94ST, 93JG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is considered to be among the greatest vintages ever made in Montrose, right up with the 1929, 1945, 1947, 1959, 1961, 1989, 1990 and 2009. Harvest was October 15 to 17. The wine has really come on since I last tasted it, and it needs at least another 10 years of cellaring. The blend was 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. The wine is opaque black/blue, with an incredible nose of blueberry and blackberry liqueur, with hints of incense, licorice, and acacia flowers. Tannins are incredibly sweet and very present. The wine is full-bodied, even massive, with great purity, depth and a finish that goes on close to a minute. This is a 50- to 75-year-old wine that will repay handsomely those with good aging genes. Bid on this bottle of 2010 Blankiet "Paradise Hills Vineyard" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98VN, 97RP, 97ST). Vinous: "Blankiet's 2010 Proprietary Red is sleek, subtle and beautifully nuanced throughout. The flavors are dark, ripe and intense, yet there are lovely floral, spice and mineral veins running through the fruit that give the wine its sense of sophistication. One of the most understated wines of the night, the 2010 remains very young and in need of further time in bottle to develop the full breadth of its aromas and flavors. (AG)" (06/2015)

Bid on this magnum of 2010 Behrens & Hitchcock "The Heavyweight" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (90JS, 90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Proprietary Red The Heavyweight is a blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc and 9% Petit Verdot, all from the Oak Knoll District. Its saturated purple color is followed by aromas of sweet cassis, licorice and camphor presented in a full-bodied, blockbuster wine that merits its name. Nevertheless, it is no thick, clumsy wine by any means. (RP)" (12/2013)

2010 Brewer-Clifton "Mt. Carmel Vineyard" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Brewer-Clifton "Mt. Carmel Vineyard" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir (93RP, 93ST, 91BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Pinot Noir Mount Carmel is gorgeous. A burst of dark red fruit makes a positive first impression, but everything about the 2010 speaks of balance. The use of whole clusters is not as evident here as elsewhere. Layers of flavors continue to flesh out on the broad-shouldered frame. The Mt. Carmel is a wine of exceptional balance and pure pedigree. It is easily one of the highlights among the new releases. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018. Steve Clifton describes the 2010 harvest as 2-3 weeks later than normal. The Pinots were brought in during the second and third weeks of September, in between the heat spikes, while the Chardonnays were harvested later, once temperatures cooled off. The 2010s are beautiful, transparent wines that capture the essence of the vintage and their respective sites. (AG)" (08/2012)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Larkmead "LMV Salon" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (97VN, 96JS, 94RP, 94ST). Vinous: "The 2010 Proprietary Red Wine LMV Salon is rich, dark and seamless. Vivid notes of graphite, pencil shavings, plums, cassis and grilled savory herbs come to life in a vivid, kaleidoscopic wine of notable pedigree. The aromatics alone are breathtaking, but the truth is that everything about the 2010 is phenomenal. Endless layers of fruit flow through to the complex, insanely beautiful finish. This is a dazzling effort. I can't wait to see how the 2010 develops over the coming year. The 2010 LMV Salon is 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc and 9% Petit Verdot. (AG) 97+" (12/2012)

Bid on this magnum of 2010 Peter Michael "Cuvée Indigène" Knights Valley Chardonnay (1.5L) (97RP, 95VN, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 235 cases of the 2010 Chardonnay Cuvee Indigene, which was fermented with indigenous yeasts and produced from the Old Wente clone of Chardonnay. The harvest occurred in early to mid-October. This wine possesses great balance, and, along with the limited cuvee of Point Rouge, is the finest of Peter Michael’s 2010 Chardonnays. Copious notes of wet rock, buttered citrus, creme brulee, brioche, pineapple and apricot are found in this full-bodied, seriously endowed Chardonnay. Drink through 2023. (RP)" (12/2013)

Vineyard notes from Nickel & Nickel: "Planted in 1984, Rock Cairn lies near the southern edge of the Oakville appellation, east of Highway 29 and north of the town of Yountville. The 30-acre vineyard is named for the “cairns” or piles of rocks that were formed long ago when Indians traversed the hills and would place a rock on the pile as an offering for safe passage. The site is comprised of deep gravelly loam with a western exposure, and the vines produce very concentrated fruit late in the season. 2010 Quilceda Creek "Galitzine Vineyard" Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Quilceda Creek "Galitzine Vineyard" Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Even more concentrated, structured and dense than the Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Galitzine Vineyard (99% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Merlot all from the Red Mountain AVA) delivers an incredible array of black currant, dark chocolate, cedar, tobacco and assorted spring flower-like nuances that give way to a massively concentrated, tannic and structured 2010 that has brilliant mid-palate depth, integrated acidity and a pure, detailed and energetic texture that carries through the finish. As with the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon, this is more fun to taste than to drink presently and needs 5-6 years or more of bottle age to round into form. It too will have two to three decades or more of ultimate longevity. (JD)" (06/2013)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Jean Grivot Vosne Romanee 1er Cru "Brulees" ((91-93BH), (90-92VN)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A cool, reserved and intensely floral nose is gorgeously spiced with ripe red berry fruit aromas that offer up attractive notes of red cherry liqueur. The equally cool and restrained medium weight flavors possess excellent structural ripeness as well as fine size, weight and power on the intense, harmonious and mouth coating finish. This is a classic Vosne that is stylish, classy and should age beautifully. *Sweet Spot, Outstanding*" (01/2013)

An exotic mosaic of sweet spices, red berries, dried flowers and mint bursts onto the palate in this viscerally thrilling, captivating Romanee St. Vivant. The 2010 is notable for so many attributes, but one that stands out is the sheer beauty and texture of the breathtaking finish. Anticipated maturity: 2030-2050. (AG)" (02/2012)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Cayuse "Impulsivo" Walla Walla Valley Tempranillo (97RP, 94WS, 93ST, 93WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Impulsivo showed similar to my review in 2013, with lots of cedar, spice-box, dried rose petal and sweet cassis and blackberry fruit. Full-bodied, ripe and concentrated, it never seems over the top, has building tannin and a fresh, focused feel that carries through the finish. 2010 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (99RP, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "With a slightly smokier edge to the honeysuckle, poached pear, pineapple and caramelized citrus notes, the 2010 Chardonnay Marcassin Vineyard hits the palate with a full-bodied, thunderous affect of fruit, glycerin and acidity. The wine reveals some smoke in the aromatics, but little, if any, in the flavor profile. Full-bodied, lovely, and again, close to perfection (as so often these wines are), this is a beauty to drink over the next decade or more. (RP)" (08/2015)

2010 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 96VN, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Rich, backwards, structured and massively concentrated, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon comes mostly from the Champoux Vineyard (also from Galitzine, Klipsun, Palengat and Tapteil) and is comprised of 99% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Merlot that spent 22 months in all new French oak. Offering up plenty of creme de cassis, coffee bean, toasted spice, pencil shavings and violet-like qualities on the nose, it has palate staining levels of extract and tannin that come through on the mid-palate and finish. Gorgeously full-bodied, layered and textured, with perfect balance, this awesome Cabernet needs to be forgotten for 5-6 years and will have two to three decades of longevity. Drink 2018-2030. Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2010 Brane-Cantenac, Margaux (95DC, 95RP, 95VN, 94JS, 94WE, 93WS, 91ST). Vinous: "The 2010 Brane-Cantenac was picked September 27 to October 14. It remains closed on the nose despite vigorous aeration, although there are shards of light as it reveals gorgeous, stony black fruit and pencil lead aromas, plus a hint of iris. The palate is medium-bodied and incredibly well focused, displaying razor-sharp tannin and a balletic poise from start to finish that belies the awesome structure of this Margaux. It is almost clinical on the finish, completing a stunning Brane-Cantenac that has a long future ahead of it. A benchmark for Henri Lurton. Tasted at the Brane-Cantenac vertical at the château. Much more expressive than the 2010 Insignia is today, the Backus is relatively open at this stage. At the same time, though, the underlying structure suggests the 2010 will drink well for many years. Vinous: "One of the flagships, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Schrader Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard is endowed with serious minerality and tension. Violets, pencil shavings, blackberries and cinnamon burst from this deep, resonant, implosive Cabernet. I very much like the intensity and power here. This is another huge, towering wine that will require considerable patience, but it is dazzling, even today. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Along with Chateau Rieussec, the Suduiraut 2010 is a candidate for best Sauternes of the vintage. It has a wonderful bouquet with an instantaneous sense of completeness and harmony, with layers of botrytized fruit intermingling with apricot blossom, peach skin and marmalade. This is powerful, but not in your face. There is no need to be. The palate is well-balanced with a viscous opening. There is plenty of botrytis here, good acidity and enormous weight on the finish. Perhaps it needs a little more tension, but otherwise this is a very impressive wine for the Sauternes vintage. (NM)" (04/2014)

Vinous: "We started with three wines from Napa Valley, as I wanted to open with wines that presented a sense of familiarity. Did they ever. The Araujo and Colgin Syrahs had something in common in that they were first and foremost wines of place. In this setting in particular, the 2010 Araujo Syrah really screamed Eisele Vineyard, with warm tobacco, smoke and grilled herb overtones. It was so distinct and pure. (AG)" (06/2013)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac (100JS, 100VN, 99RP, 99WS, 98WE, 97ST). Vinous: "A wine of noble bearing and exceptional beauty, the 2010 Mouton Rothschild is a flat-out stunner. The aromatics alone are beguiling. On the palate, the wine is every bit as thrilling, with myriad layers of flavor that continue to open up in the glass. Graphite, gravel, smoke, plum, black cherry and savory herbs are all strikingly delineated throughout. Vivid and crystalline, the 2010 is a jewel of a wine, but it is impossibly young now. Readers who can be patient will be treated to a fabulous wine. Today, the 2010 reminds me of a more civilized version of the 1986. The 2010 is 94% Cabernet Sauvignon (the highest amount of Cabernet ever here). Dollops of Merlot round out the blend. Harvest took place between September 29 and October 13. (AG)" (05/2016)

2010 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (100RP, 99WS, 98ST, 98WE, 97JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As for the 2010 Haut-Brion, it does not have the power of Latour’s 2010 or the intense lead pencil shavings and chocolaty component of Lafite-Rothschild, but it is extraordinary, perfect wine. 2010 Cayuse "The Widowmaker" Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Cayuse "The Widowmaker" Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 93WE, 92ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A silky, supple and downright sexy 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2010 Widowmaker En Chamberlin Vineyard offers up notes of sweet red and black currants, leaf tobacco, mulled spices and cedar to go with a full-bodied, rich and gorgeously textured and polished palate. Already approachable and surprisingly civilized, with a core of sweet fruit and ripe, polished tannin, it nevertheless holds up beautifully with air and drank well for the three days I had the bottle open. Enjoy it over the coming 12-15+ years. Drink now-2025+. (JD)" (06/2013)
