2010 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (96JD, 96WE, 96WS, 95RP, 94ST, 94VN). Wine Spectator: "Dark, dense and very closed now, this has a tremendous core of crushed plum, linzer torte and blackberry confiture waiting in reserve. Ample singed cedar and mesquite, warm paving stone and black tea notes lurk in the background and glide through the finish. Features serious grip, but wonderful integration. Should cruise in the cellar. Best from 2016 through 2035. (JM)" (08/2013)

2010 Château de Pibarnon Bandol
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Château de Pibarnon Bandol (94RP, 93JG, 92W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Moving to the classic cuvee and even more impressive (it was one of the top wines I was able to taste for this report), the 2010 Bandol, which is over 90% Mourvedre, sees partial destemming and aging in oak casks, offers both gorgeous aromatic complexity and superb richness and depth on the palate. Giving up notions of pepper, Provencal herbs, underbrush and leather, with a solid core of dark fruit, this medium to full-bodied, pure, layered and beautifully balanced effort needs another 2-3 years of bottle age, and will easily keep for a decade or more past that. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (97JS, 97VN, 96ST, 96W&S). James Suckling: "Aromas of black currant, walnut, black olive and sweet flowers. Licorice. Full body, round and soft tannins and a subtle yet rich finish. Stone undertone. Showing wonderfully now. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (100JS, 100RP, 98WE, 97WS, 96DC, 95ST, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An absolutely amazing wine... It comes from one of the few biodynamic vineyards in Bordeaux, but you are likely to see many more, given the success that Tesseron seems to be having at all levels, both in his vineyards and in his fermentation/winemaking. An astounding, compelling wine with the classic Pauillac nose more often associated with its cross-street neighbor, Mouton-Rothschild, creme de cassis, there are also some violets and other assorted floral notes. The wine has off-the-charts massiveness and intensity but never comes across as heavy, overbearing or astringent. The freshness, laser-like precision, and full-bodied, massive richness and extract are simply remarkable to behold and experience. It is very easy, to become jaded tasting such great wines from a great vintage, but it is really a privilege to taste something as amazing as this. Unfort

2010 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 98JS, 95VN, 95WE, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A remarkable wine, the 2010 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select has gone from strength to strength since it was in cask. It is stunningly rich, with classic, fragrant notes of blackcurrants, blackberries, vanilla, graphite and spring flowers. It exhibits an opaque purple color, with a full-bodied, massive mouthfeel, but no heaviness, and again, a flawless integration of acidity, tannin, alcohol and wood. It’s classic California Cabernet, but beautifully put together, showing impeccable craftsmanship and fabulous potential. This is obviously a very young, infantile style of Cabernet that won’t hit its prime for at least another decade and last close to half a century, based on how older vintages that were less well-endowed have matured from Shafer. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac (99JD, 97DC, 97RP, 97WE, 95JS, 95VN, 95WS). Jeb Dunnuck: "Borderline perfection in a bottle, the 2010 Pichon-Longueville Baron (79% Cabernet Sauvignon and 21% Merlot) boasts a saturated purple color as well as truly extraordinary aromatics of crème de cassis, licorice, crushed rock-like minerality, graphite, and spring flowers. Possessing full-bodied richness, a huge, unctuous mid-palate, and building tannin, it shows the purity, grandeur, and precision that makes this vintage so remarkable. Hide bottles for another 4-5 years, count yourself lucky, and enjoy bottles over the following 2-3 decades. 99+" (02/2018)

Of the 2010 Domaine Méo-Camuzet Vosne-Romanée ,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2010 Vosne-Romanee is a very pretty wine layered with expressive dark red fruit, spices and menthol. It shows good depth in a weightless, sensual expression of Vosne. Here, too, the energy and sheer verve of the vintages comes through in spades. This is a great Vosne villages. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe "La Crau" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (97RP, 96DC, 96JD, 96WS, 94ST, 94W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Performing considerably better than it did prior to bottling, the 2010 Vieux Télégraphe Châteauneuf-du-Pape is one of the all-time great Vieux Télégraphes I have tasted in the last 3+ decades. I believe it is even superior to the 2007, which I had several weeks ago. The 2010 boasts a dense purple color along with a sumptuous bouquet of spring flowers, boysenberries, black cherries, black currants, nori (the sushi seaweed wrapper), black olives, licorice and pepper. This full-bodied, meaty, thick, juicy effort possesses a boatload of tannin, but it also has incredible concentration. More massive than I remember from last year, it has put on considerable weight and intensity. Forget it for 3-4 years, and drink it over the following 25-30 years. Kudos to Daniel and Frederic Brunier! The Brunier family continues to turn out a be

2010 Abreu "Cappella" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Abreu "Cappella" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP, 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Cappella, ( 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot and Merlot) reveals a dense purple color, and even greater aromatic and flavor dimensions than the 2009. Notes of sweet creme de cassis, coffee bean, graphite, white chocolate and forest floor are followed by an intense, full-bodied, luxuriously textured wine that has plenty of tannin, but it is sweet and enrobed by sumptuous fruit and glycerin. This fabulous 2010 is one of the superstars of the vintage. It should continue to evolve for 25-30 years. As a set of wines, it is hard to surpass the four cuvees from the estate vineyards of David Abreu. As I have written many times in the past, all of these wines are truly world-class efforts that stand alongside proprietary red wines made from Bordeaux varietals from any appellation in the world. 2010 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 96VN, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Rich, backwards, structured and massively concentrated, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon comes mostly from the Champoux Vineyard (also from Galitzine, Klipsun, Palengat and Tapteil) and is comprised of 99% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Merlot that spent 22 months in all new French oak. Offering up plenty of creme de cassis, coffee bean, toasted spice, pencil shavings and violet-like qualities on the nose, it has palate staining levels of extract and tannin that come through on the mid-palate and finish. Gorgeously full-bodied, layered and textured, with perfect balance, this awesome Cabernet needs to be forgotten for 5-6 years and will have two to three decades of longevity. Drink 2018-2030. 2010 Nicolas Joly "Clos de la Coulée de Serrant" Savennières-Coulée de Serrant
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2010 Nicolas Joly "Clos de la Coulée de Serrant" Savennières-Coulée de Serrant (93W&S). Wine & Spirits: "This historic clos is widely considered one of the greatest vineyards in the Loire: 17.2 acres on a steep hillside above the river where the vines average 35 years of age, some older than 80. Joly farms it and vinifies the wine under a biodynamic regime, and sure, the wine might be more accessible if it were cleaner. For those who can live with the idiosyncrasies of a "vin naturel," this is among the most evocative and complex. It is, first and foremost, a lovely Savenièrres, true to the appellation. Beyond that, you’ll find a layering of wildflower honey and more delicate notes of meadow flowers infusing a deep golden wine. It’s luscious, juicy, savory and tense, a 2010 suited to five or six years of age and a terrine of foie gras." (04/2013)

Vinous: "The 2010 Blanc de Blancs Charles Heintz Vineyard Late Disgorged is absolutely brilliant and also one of the very best wines I have tasted from Michael Cruse. Bright, sculpted and dripping with energy, the 2010 dazzles at the very first taste. The citrus peel, crushed rock, white pepper and floral notes are drawn with a thin pencil in this super-expressive Blanc de Blancs. Readers who can get their hands on one of the 300 or so bottles should not hesitate, as the 2010 is arrestingly beautiful. Bottled with no dosage. (AG)" (04/2018)

Inky, deep, and full-bodied to the core, the 2010 blasts out of the glass with graphite, pencil shavings, menthol, melted road tar, plum, cassis and licorice notes. The 2010 is an exciting, viscerally thrilling wine that takes hold of the sense and never lets up. Today, it is firing on all cylidners. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deeper and richer, the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Deus ex Machina has been nothing short of perfection on the 3-4 times I’ve been lucky enough to try it. Muscular and powerful, with a serious, full-bodied profile, it gives up incredible aromas and flavors of creme de cassis, licorice, graphite, beef blood and loamy earth. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Justin "Isosceles Reserve" Paso Robles Bordeaux Blend (94RP, 94WE, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The star of the show, the 2010 Isosceles Reserve (90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Malbec, 3% Cabernet Franc and 2% Merlot aged 21 months in 100% new French oak) is a deep, rich and muscular effort that still has some oak and tannin to integrate. Graphite, smoked dark fruits, exotic spice and sweet oak all emerge from this brilliant effort, and it hits the palate with a full-bodied, concentrated profile that carries layers of sweet tannin, solid mid-palate depth and a great finish. 2010 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon RBS" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2010 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon RBS" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (99RP, 97VN, 96DC, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Flirting with perfection, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard RBS from clone 337 was aged in new Darnajou barrels (80%) and the rest in new Taransaud barrels. There were 410 cases produced, which is several hundred cases less than the production in 2012. An unbelievable red wine, it boasts an inky/purple color as well as abundant notes of charcoal, white chocolate, toast, new saddle leather, blueberries, blackberries, creme de cassis and licorice. As the wine sits in the glass, some chocolaty, smoky elements also emerge. This virtually perfect Cabernet Sauvignon has been flawlessly made and should age effortlessly for 25-30+ years. Bid on this bottle of 2010 Caymus "Special Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 96WS, 93VN, 92W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Special Selection exhibits an opaque purple color, slightly more toasty oak in the aromatics, and explosive richness on the attack, mid-palate and length. The nose is slightly more restrained than in the regular bottling, but there is no doubting the Special Selection is a cut or two above the Napa bottling when it hits the palate. Extraordinary purity of fruit, creme de cassis, licorice and incense all emerge from this full-bodied, iconic classic. It can be enjoyed now and over the next 25+ years. (RP)" (10/2013)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon - CCS" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 97VN, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A wine that seems to hit all of the sweet spots on my palate is the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard CCS made from clone 4. It possesses about the same amount of alcohol as the other wines (14.5%), and is aged 20 months in 100% new oak, but it reveals an opulence, voluptuousness and a seamless haute couture fashion. There is something Pomerol-like in the 2010 CCS that I have not noticed in previous vintages. That may be due to the upfront, appealing, stunningly rich, voluptuous style. This is a Cabernet Sauvignon of great nobility and character that, despite its precociousness, should age for 25+ years. Sadly, the production of 156 cases pales in comparison to the 520 cases made in 2012. (RP)" (10/2013)

2010 Domaine J.-F. Coche-Dury Auxey-Duresses
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine J.-F. Coche-Dury Auxey-Duresses. From Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant: "One need only speak of Meursault to evoke a myriad of questions regarding the village’s resident icon, Jean-François Coche. He began working in the family vineyards alongside his father, Georges, at the age of fourteen, becoming the third generation of Coches to tend these vines. His marriage to Odile Dury in 1975 added to the family holdings, which lead to the formation of Domaine Coche-Dury. Since then, the enigmatic, modest, Jean-François has only reluctantly accepted the celebrity status of his wines. When asked, he would be most likely say that it is rigor, constant vigilance, and adherence to old-school tradition that makes the wines so special. Jean-François’ heritage seems more closely linked to the studious, farmer-monks that once propagated this area of Burgundy during the Middle Ages than to the stocky Gauls of lore, as his work style is almost hermetical. Bid on this bottle of 2010 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape (99JD, 99RP, 98WS, 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Mind blowing stuff, the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape is most likely the greatest wine ever from this estate. Still inky colored, it has a powerful, slightly backward feel in its crushed rocks, cassis, kirsch, toasted spice, licorice and dried flower-like aromas and flavors. Massively concentrated, thick, rich and textured, it delivers a serious lashing of tannin, yet nevertheless is perfectly balanced, ultra-pure, precise and long. It's the quintessential Clos des Papes and will have 30+ years of longevity. Note, yields were a miniscule 16 hectoliters per hectare, so there's not much of this out there. Drink from 2020-2040. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Léoville-Poyferré, St-Julien (99JD, 98RP, 98WE, 95JS, 94VN, 93WS). Jeb Dunnuck: "Another massive, incredible release from this estate is the 2010 Léoville Poyferré. Based on 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot and the balance Petit Verdot, its inky purple color is followed by a massive, full-bodied, incredibly concentrated 2010 that has awesome notes of pure crème de cassis, licorice, graphite, and spring flowers. As with the 2009, it has incredible depth of fruit, yet a slightly more focused, classic style, which is very much in the style of the 2010 vintage. It gives up provocative notes of crushed rocks, tilled soil, mossy bark and camphor over a liquored cherries, violets, cinnamon stick and cloves-scented core plus hints of prunes, baker's chocolate and praline. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (96RP, 96VN, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As it approaches its eighth birthday, the 2010 James Berry Vineyard Proprietary Red is drinking beautifully, wafting from the glass with complex aromas of smoky cassis, incense, burnt sage and dark chocolate. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, rich and velvety, with an ample core of ripe fruit, fine-grained and resolved tannins and a long, intense finish. The cool season and extended hang time of the 2010 vintage conspired to produce a wine of unusual elegance but no lack of power. (WK)" (05/2018)
