Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (96RP, 95DC, 95WE, 94JS, 94ST, 92VN, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A candidate for the wine of the vintage, Pontet Canet’s 2008 boasts an opaque purple color as well as copious aromas of sweet blueberries, blackberries and black currant fruit intertwined with lead pencil shavings, subtle barbecue smoke and a hint of forest floor. Full-bodied, with fabulous richness, texture and tremendous freshness, this first-growth-like effort is more developed than the uber-powerful 2010. Give it 5-8 years of cellaring and drink it over the following three decades. Bravo! (RP)" (05/2011)

2008 Sine Qua Non "The Line" California Grenache
Bid on this bottle of 2008 Sine Qua Non "The Line" California Grenache (98RP, 97VN, 95JS, 95WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine was just released in April of this year, and is a blend of 87.5% Grenache, 11% Syrah, and 1.5% Viognier, with 21% whole clusters used in the Grenache component. Seventy-eight percent of it came from the 11 Confessions Vineyard and the balance from Bien Nacido and the White Hawk. It is no measly wine at 15.5% alcohol, but it displays extraordinary berry fruit and kirsch notes intermixed with lavender and other floral components. Intense, full-bodied, voluptuously textured, and stunningly pure, with no real noticeable oak (21% new French oak was used, most of it the larger demi-muids), this beauty has put on weight and is showing additional complexity since I first tasted it. Bid on this bottle of 2008 Giacomo Conterno "Cascina Francia" Barolo (96JS, 95RP, 94WS). James Suckling: "One of the best Cascina Francias in a long time. It shows aromas of melons and plums with hints of hazelnut and coca. Full body and dense with gorgeous silky tannins and an incredible finish. The texture is wonderful. Pure velvet. Chocolate and cedar. Orange peel. So long and beautiful. Love the finish. Very approachable now but better in four or five years." (12/2012)

2008 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2008 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (94W&S, 91WE). Wine & Spirits: "Like a savory claret pumped up on performance-enhancing California climate, this is nuanced and relatively austere for all its bold, plummy fruit. The supple richness of tannins lends it textural finesse, the quality of Silver Oak that may be most responsible for its legend. The alcohol is finely integrated so as to be imperceptible. Still youthfully floral, this will age with grace. " (12/2012)

2008 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 98VN, 94ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain takes things to another level, as hard as it may seem to believe. This was another difficult vintage for Dunn. Yields were down a full 50%. In exchange, nature rewarded Dunn with the fruit to make an epic wine that could very well turn out to be a modern-day legend. The 2008 is a huge, towering wine packed with dark fruit, licorice, tar, asphalt and licorice. Layers of perfume are woven throughout this majestic effort. The 2008 should only be purchased by the very patient, but it is a legendary wine in the making. (AG) 98+" (12/2011)

2008 Screaming Eagle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2008 Screaming Eagle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97JS, 96ST, 95RP, 94WS). James Suckling: "This has a wonderful balance to it. It shows intense aromas of flowers and dark fruits with hints of incense and sandalwood. Changes all the time. Then goes to currants and flowers. Full and firm with a wonderful core of silky tannins that are polished and beautiful. Dark chocolate, vanilla bean, and dark fruit. Solid and firm. You could easy drink this but it has structure for aging as well. 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Caberent Franc and 5% Merlot. (JS)" (06/2011)

2008 Domaine Dugat-Py Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Domaine Dugat-Py Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru (95BH, 94ST, 93RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A ripe and wonderfully elegant nose that is quite dense revolves around layered red berry fruit aromas nuanced by a cascade of floral, earth, smoke, meat and spice hints that is followed by generous yet detailed broad-shouldered flavors that curiously manage to be both tender and firm on the classy, long and energetic finish. This will need up to 20 years to reach its full potential so this definitely will not be an early drinker." (01/2011)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2008 Cliff Lede "Songbook" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A brilliant effort, the deep ruby/purple-hued 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Songbook (a 250-case blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Merlot) reveals sweet aromas of creme de cassis, licorice, subtle smoke and spice. 2008 Alban Vineyards "Patrina" Central Coast Syrah
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Alban Vineyards "Patrina" Central Coast Syrah. According to Robert Parker: "One of the pioneers of world-class Rhone varietal-based wines produced in California’s Central Coast, John Alban had the courage and foresight to plant Viognier, Syrah, Grenache, and more recently, Mourvedre, in a region where no one else believed these grapes would thrive. His wines offer off-the-chart levels of concentration, and many of them are capable of lasting three to four decades. These flavor-filled wines are all made from frightfully low yields, and are now being given extremely long aging in barrel, the top Syrah cuvees spending 36-40 months in barrel. The results are wines that are nearly beyond belief in terms of richness and density. These are true artisanal wines meant for long-term cellaring that should only be purchased by patient connoisseurs who are able to defer their gratification for 8-10 years." (08/09)

2008 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (95JS, 95RP, 95ST, 95W&S, 93VN, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Monte Bello is marked by the drought vintage, which not only made a more concentrated crop but also deprived the blend of all supporting varieties, as only Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot handled the dry conditions sufficiently gracefully to make the final cut. At age ten, this muscular Monte Bello is finally beginning to unwind, offering up rich aromas of black cherry, cassis, dried mountain laurel, loamy soil and burning embers. On the palate, it's full-bodied, expansive and powerful, its generous, sweetly fruited attack giving way to a taut, firm mid-palate that doesn't show as much finesse as the 2010 or 2012, concluding with a long, stony finish. Baugher observes that in its youth, the 2008 was "monolithic and more angular—a mouthful of tannin." A decade later, it's beginning to soften, but it still req

Of the 2008 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis 1er Cru "Montée de Tonnerre",Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Pale yellow-green color. Knockout high-pitched nose combines white flowers, crushed stone, citrus peel, gingery spices and a saline oyster shell nuance. Quite reserved today but impeccably pure, displaying outstanding breadth and richness without any impression of weight. Wonderfully vigorous wine that saturates the entire mouth with tactile minerality and excites the taste buds. A great example of this superb premier cru. (ST)" (08/2010)

2008 O'Shaughnessy Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2008 O'Shaughnessy Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (98RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Absolutely prodigious is the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder (500 cases of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon off a site west of Oakville). Dense bluish purple to the rim, with a sensational nose of forest, flowers, graphite, and blueberry liqueur intermixed with creme de cassis and burning embers/charcoal, this wine has fabulous fruit, a remarkably full-bodied texture, great purity, and a finish that goes on for close to 50+ seconds.
