2002 Merry Edwards Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (1.5L)
Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2002 Merry Edwards Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (1.5L) (91CG). Connoisseurs Guide: "Outgoing aromas of ripe cherries and dried flowers are given a real lift in richness by plenty of rich oak here, and this weighty offering's deep, well-extracted flavors follow in kind. There is a bit of velvet beginning to show, yet there is also a fair measure of tannin coming on at the finish, and things presently end on a slightly tougher note. The wine recalls the solidity of northerly Côte de Nuits Burgundies, and, if a wee bit gruff just now, it is very well-filled, and it seems sure to find refinement if allowed to sit quietly for three or four years." 2002 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2002 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100RP, 96CG, 96WS, 95ST, 93W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2002 boasts an inky/purple color along with notes of graphite, violets, blackberries, creme de cassis and hints of charcoal and barbecue in addition to a full-bodied, multilayered mouthfeel that builds incrementally with great purity, staggering fruit concentration, and a long, velvety, 50+-second finish. This prodigious effort should continue to drink well for 20+ years. (RP)" (11/2013)

2002 Léoville-Poyferré, St-Julien
Bid on this bottle of 2002 Léoville-Poyferré, St-Julien (91DC, 90RP, 90ST). Decanter: "This is full of vigour and life – an enjoyable wine from a challenging year. At this stage in its development the cassis notes are merging with tannins, which are starting to soften but haven't forgotten what they're here for. Good balance, with a lovely fresh edge at the close of play as it rises rather than falls, and the menthol notes are very attractive. A slight tightness on the finish tells you that the fruit is a heartbeat away from full ripeness, and although this will age well it lacks some characteristic generosity. The rest of the blend is made up of Petit Verdot. (JA)" (06/2018)

2002 Latour, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Latour, Pauillac (96VN, 96WS, (94-95RP), 94ST). Wine Spectator: "Loads of ripe currants, licorice and toasted oak on the nose. Subtle yet impressive. Full-bodied, with a solid core of ripe fruit and chewy tannins. Big and juicy. Deep midpalate for a 2002. This is the wine of the vintage. A solid, classic Latour that needs bottle age. *Top 100 of 2005, Collectibles* (JS)" (03/2005)

2002 Moet & Chandon "Cuvée Dom Pérignon - Andy Warhol Tribute" Brut Champagne
Bid on this bottle of 2002 Moet & Chandon "Cuvée Dom Pérignon - Andy Warhol Tribute" Brut Champagne (98VN, 96RP, 96W&S, 95WS, 94DC). Vinous: "The 2002 Dom Pérignon speaks to opulence and intensity. Rich, layered and voluptuous in the glass, the 2002 shows off its flamboyant personality with flair. Butter, cooked apple and tropically-leaning fruits mesh together effortlessly. Interestingly, with time in the glass the 2002 gains in freshness and energy without losing its essential opulence. The elevated ripeness of the year gives the 2002 Dom Pérignon distinctly Puligny-Montrachet leaning inflections...This is yet another fabulous showing from the 2002, which continues to cement its reputation as a truly epic Dom Pérignon." 2002 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (OWC)
Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2002 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (OWC - 100RP, 99WE, 98ST, 94WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The extraordinary Harlan Estate, which I awarded 100 points seven years ago, offers no justifiable reason to doubt its perfect score. It is still a baby, with an inky purple color and notes of smoky camphor intermixed with creme de cassis, Asian soy and a hint of cedar beginning to emerge as well as some espresso and subtle damp forest floor notes. The wine has awesome intensity, a full-bodied mouthfeel, a skyscraper-like texture, and a finish that goes on for close to a minute. This is a perfect wine, still youthful and young, and not even in full adolescence as of 2012. It has 40 or more years ahead of it, but should hit its plateau of full maturity in another 5-10 years. It is certainly one of the most showy , flamboyant and remarkable Harlan Estates made to date. Kudos to Bill Harlan! (RP)" (06/2012)

2002 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2002 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (97VN, 95RP, 94ST, 90WS). Vinous: "The 2002 Monte Bello is just starting to enter the early plateau of its maturity. Bright red cherry, raspberry, wild flowers, mint and crushed flowers all lift from the glass. Sweet, perfumed and totally gracious, the 2002 has it all going on today. The 2002 is an especially nuanced and feminine Monte Bello, particularly in its aromatics, although it turns sweeter and more unctuous on the mid-palate. There is plenty of depth and intensity, but it is all about understatement when it comes to the 2002, a compelling, racy Monte Bello that is in a great place today. Eric Baugher describes 2002 as a vintage with the lowest yields seen in the last 20 years because of bad weather during bloom. Macerations were shorter than normal because of the inherent richness of the fruit. (AG)" (07/2016)

2002 Dunn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2002 Dunn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (90ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Full ruby-red. Aromas of cassis, graphite, mint and chocolate, plus a whiff of band-aid. Then surprisingly pliant and creamy for a Dunn cabernet, with accessible flavors of currant, licorice and milk chocolate. Finishes with rather suave tannins and some juicy acidity. Suppler than it appeared to be last spring when I tasted it from barrel, and considerably softer than the Howell Mountain bottling. 2002 Sine Qua Non "Just for the Love of It" Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2002 Sine Qua Non "Just for the Love of It" Syrah (100RP, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A dead-ringer (at least aromatically) for Guigal’s single vineyard Cote Rotie La Mouline, the 2002 Just For The Love of It is the greatest California Syrah I have yet tasted. A one-thousand case blend of 96% Syrah, 2% Grenache, and 2% Viognier, it is nearly equal parts Alban, Bien Nacido, and Stolpman fruit with a small amount from both Shadow Canyon and White Hawk. It boasts a provocative perfume of creme de cassis, toast, blackberries, licorice, barbecue spice, and exotic floral scents. Extremely full-bodied, with fabulous intensity, great purity, awesome length, and a finish that lasts over a minute, this classic is a must purchase. Already accessible, it will drink well for 10-15 years. (RP)" (08/2004)

Bid on this bottle of 2002 J.-F. Coche-Dury Puligny-Montrachet "Enseignères" ((90-92RP), 91ST, 90BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The super-spicy 2002 Puligny-Montrachet Les Enseigneres is a light to medium-bodied wine of outstanding depth. Lively talcum and mineral flavors can be found in its delineated and detailed character. In addition, this wine sports a sweet, long, supple finish. (PR)" (02/2004)

2002 Sloan Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2002 Sloan Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100RP, 100WE, 99WS, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The perfect score does not surprise me since I had given this wine a three-digit rating after bottling. However, I was surprised by how evolved and complex the 2002 has become. Compared to some of the other high scoring 2002s, Sloan's offering seems to be on a faster evolutionary track. There is nothing wrong with that, but based on this one bottle, this blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot can be drunk now or cellared for another 10-12 years. I do not think it will be one of the blockbuster, extremely long-lived wines of the vintage, but I could be wrong, because everything is in perfect balance. It offers a dense plum/garnet/purple color, a sweet nose of roasted espresso, chocolate, spring flowers, blackberries, black currants and new saddle leather, an opulent, voluptuous texture, gorgeous, layered flavors, lots of
