1997 Rochioli "East Block" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 1997 Rochioli "East Block" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir ((91-93RP), 92WS, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1997 Pinot Noir East Block is made in the mold of the Little Hill cuvee. It is a full-throttle effort that, despite its wonderful richness and density, has retained its elegance and lushness. The color is a healthy dark ruby/purple. In the mouth, the wine displays medium to full body, outstanding flavor extraction, and a long, 30-second finish. The wine possesses adequate acidity and moderate tannin, but these components are virtually buried by the precocious fruit and ripeness. (RP)" (12/1998)

1997 E. Guigal "La Landonne" Cote Rotie
Bid on this bottle of 1997 E. Guigal "La Landonne" Cote Rotie (98RP, 97WS, (93-95ST)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The nearly perfect 1997 Cote Rotie La Landonne is an amazing achievement for the vintage. An astonishing saturated purple color is followed by scents of licorice, roasted meats, coffee, toasty oak, plums, and blackberries. The wine is extremely smoky, earthy, and terroir-driven. This 1997 offers exceptional expansiveness on the palate, sweet tannin, low acidity, and a ripe, robust finish. One to three years of cellaring is warranted, but it is capable of lasting for two decades. (RP)" (04/2002)

1997 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 1997 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100RP, 97WS, 95WE, 94ST, 93W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An inky/plum/purple color is accompanied by a stunning bouquet of violets, charcoal, creme de cassis and a hint of toast. Prodigious when it hits the palate with a full-bodied expansiveness, there is not a hard edge to be found in the 1997, only velvety tannins, compelling depth and fruit intensity, and stunning purity. It is a perfect expression of Napa viticulture and wine that should continue to age effortlessly for two decades or more. (RP)" (11/2013)

1997 Sine Qua Non "Twisted and Bent" San Luis Obispo County White Blend
Bid on this bottle of 1997 Sine Qua Non "Twisted and Bent" San Luis Obispo County White Blend (95RP, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1997 Twisted and Bent (540 cases) is no wimpy wine. All of the fruit comes from the Alban Vineyard in San Luis Obispo. The 1997's blend is 60% Roussanne and 40% Chardonnay. This is white wine at its most concentrated. Light gold with a greenish hue, it has the unctuosity and nearly the power of chartreuse liqueur, but it is dry, full-bodied, and easy to drink in large quantities (I know). Its honeyed viscosity, and extraordinary bouquet of rose petals, buttery tropical fruits, and orange marmalade are exotic, thrilling, and altogether a treat to satiate both the intellectual and hedonistic senses. The fact that it is dry is an achievement given the degree of sugar at which these grapes must have been picked. Drink this wine (14.7% alcohol) with close friends and delicious food. This wine seems to have the ability to last beyond 2-3 years, but t

1997 Domaine Joseph Drouhin Beaune 1er Cru "Clos des Mouches" Blanc
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1997 Domaine Joseph Drouhin Beaune 1er Cru "Clos des Mouches" Blanc (90WS). Wine Spectator: "This is a big white Burgundy, with lots of pear, tropical, vanilla bean, smoke and toast notes. There is great balance here as the lemony acidity holds its own against the oak and ripe fruit. Can age." (05/1999)

1997 Lokoya Diamond Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1997 Lokoya Diamond Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 93WS, 91W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Opulent, sexy, and immediately charming is the 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon Diamond Mountain (1,100 cases). It exhibits a saturated purple color in addition to an explosive nose of licorice, cedar, roasted herbs, and black plums and currants. Full-bodied, with a voluptuous texture, low acidity, and heady alcohol, this offering possesses considerable tannin, but it is beautifully submerged by the wine's depth of extract and high glycerin. Impressive, with a flamboyant personality, this 1997 should drink well for 18-20 years. (RP)" (12/2000)

1997 Jarvis "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1997 Jarvis "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Wine Spectator: "This late-release 1997 has already evolved beyond the rich, primary fruit flavors typically found in a young wine (which is somewhat disappointing given the excellence of the vintage), offering more mature flavors of dusty berry, dill and cedary oak, with a touch of anise. 1997 Duckhorn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1997 Duckhorn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (90WS). Wine Spectator: "Fresh, complex floral and fruity Cabernet aromas are a bit drier and austere, with hints of fresh leather, mineral, earth and iodine. On the finish the tannins still grip, but the fruit retains its complexity. (JL, Web-2008)"

1997 Domaine Drouhin "Laurène" Dundee Hills Pinot Noir (1.5L) (OWC)
Bid on this magnum of 1997 Domaine Drouhin "Laurène" Dundee Hills Pinot Noir (1.5L) in original wood. Allen Meadows writes: "Domaine Drouhin was hardly the first Oregon winery (the land was purchased in 1987 and the winery built in 1989) but it was the real ground breaker in terms of bringing instant credibility to the region's existing wineries as well as those who have followed. DDO, as it's known, tries to emulate the elegant and pure style of the Domaine Drouhin Burgundies while working with the different ripeness and fruit characteristics that Oregon produces."
