1994 Dalla Valle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 1994 Dalla Valle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 94WS, 92VN). Wine Spectator: "Impressive for its richness, depth and concentration, this is a tightly wound, well-focused Cabernet that exhibits a wonderful pure core of currant, black cherry and blackberry fruit that's remarkably youthful. For all its depth and complexity, it ends up being elegant and sophisticated. (JL)" (11/2004)

1994 Rene Rostaing "Côte Blonde" Côte-Rôtie
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1994 Rene Rostaing "Côte Blonde" Côte-Rôtie (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1994s are excellent to outstanding, exhibiting plenty of opulence, power, and sweet fruit. The most hedonistic and voluptuously-textured cuvee is the Cote Rotie Cote Blonde. The 1994 (from two parcels of vines, one 35 years of age and one 80 years of age) exhibits a knock-out, sweet, expansive, penetratingly fragrant nose of flowers, rich, ripe cassis fruit, cedar, and black-raspberries. The wine possesses an opulent texture, gorgeously unctuous, thick flavors, and a fabulous finish. It is a seductive Cote Rotie for drinking over the next 10-12 years. Interestingly, about 5% Viognier made it into the blend. (RP)" (10/1996)

1994 Zind Humbrecht Clos Saint Urbain Rangen de Thann Pinot Gris Grand Cru Vendange Tardive
Bid on this bottle of 1994 Zind Humbrecht Clos Saint Urbain Rangen de Thann Pinot Gris Grand Cru Vendange Tardive (99RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1994 Tokay-Pinot Gris Rangen Clos St.-Urbain V.T. was made from microscopic yields of one-half ton of fruit per acre, and attained 16% alcohol naturally. The wine is absolutely amazing. With its honeyed, exotic fruit, buttery, spicy, waxy nose, thick, unctuously rich, massive flavors, vibrant acidity, and smashingly long finish, this Z-H wine could be classified as a food product rather than as a beverage. Like several of these wines, 5-6 years of cellaring is essential, but the Clos St.-Urbain V.T. will last for 25-30 years. This 1994 Tokay-Pinot Gris is virtually perfect. (RP)" (06/1996)

1994 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1994 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 95WS, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I had the 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve a half-dozen times this year, and it may be the finest Cabernet ever from Mondavi. From RP's 12/1996 tasting notes: … The deep opaque purple color, and tightly wound nose and flavors still reveal enough profound aromas and flavors to mark this as one of Mondavi's most sensational efforts. The nose possesses a Margaux/Mouton-like cassis, lead pencil, floral aroma, backed-up by copious quantities of blackcurrant fruit. In the mouth, my notes said, 'great stuff.' The wine is full-bodied, layered, multi-dimensional, and astonishingly well-balanced, with an inner-depth and core of exceptional richness and intensity. All of this has been accomplished without any notion of obtrusive weight, tannin, or alcohol. The finish lasts for 35+ seconds. Because of its luxurious quantity of fruit, this wine will be access

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1994 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95DC, 95WS, 93RP). Wine Spectator: "This is a smooth, rich, dark and polished Montelena--in short a grand wine--with remarkable depth, richness and concentration. The purity of currant, mineral, black cherry and anise is deliciously focused and the tannins are ripe and supple, making this a very approachable wine, even at this stage. (JL)" (11/2004)

1994 Diamond Creek "Volcanic Hill" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1994 Diamond Creek "Volcanic Hill" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon ((92-95RP), 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "All three 1994s are backward, well-built, tannic wines meant to last for two decades or more. I suspect they will be among the least flattering wines to taste when released. The most impressively-endowed wine of the three is the 1994 Volcanic Hill Cabernet Sauvignon. The color is opaque purple. The wine offers a glorious display of blackcurrant, plum, and blueberry fruit gently infused with toasty oak. The roasted, smoky, richness of this wine is immediately apparent when it hits the palate. There are layers of ripe, unctuously-textured fruit, full body, and hard hitting tannin in the finish. It is backward, rich, and extremely impressive. As a fan of Diamond Creek Cabernet Sauvignons in the seventies and early eighties, I have frequently detailed my lack of enthusiasm for vintages after 1984. For that reason, I am happy to report that barrel

1994 Bryant Family "Pritchard Hill" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1994 Bryant Family "Pritchard Hill" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 93WS, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A potentially perfect wine, the 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon boasts a fabulous nose of cassis, cream, blueberries, violets, minerals, and spice. It smells like a hypothetical blend of a great vintage of L'Evangile, Clinet, and Mouton-Rothschild. The opaque purple/black color is followed by a full-bodied wine stacked and packed with fruit, glycerin, and extract. No component part is out of place in this formidably endowed, remarkably well-balanced wine. The purity, richness, sweetness and depth of fruit suggest that the wine's potential is limitless. Much like its cellarmate, the 1994 Colgin Cabernet Sauvignon (also made by Helen Turley), the Bryant Family Vineyard's 1994 should evolve into one of California's legendary Cabernets. It will age effortlessly for 25-30 years. (RP)" (12/1996)

1994 Dominus "Napanook Vineyard" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1994 Dominus "Napanook Vineyard" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (99RP, 95DC, 93VN, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Christian Moueix and his talented winemaking team continue to rewrite the definition of a Napa Valley reference point wine. I have had a difficult time keeping the corks in my bottles of 1994 Dominus. Eight-thousand cases were produced from a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Cabernet Franc, 12% Merlot, and 4% Petit Verdot. In this vintage, 174 days passed between bud break and the harvest, a remarkable period of time for any wine region in the world. The 1994 is a strikingly thick, compellingly rich wine with the texture of a great Pomerol, despite being made primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine exhibits a dense purple color, and an incredibly fragrant nose of jammy black fruits, spice, smoke, and loamy, truffle-like scents. In the mouth, it is full-bodied, with thrilling levels of extract and richness, but no sense of heaviness or

1994 Viader Napa Valley Red Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1994 Viader Napa Valley Red Blend ((90-93RP), 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Smoky, sweet, black and red currant aromas jump from the glass of this intriguing, saturated purple-colored wine. Some new oak is noticeable in the background. The wine's attack exhibits terrific purity of fruit, more acidity than many 1994s, and sweet, ripe tannin, all packed into a tightly wound, medium to full-bodied wine that only hints at its ultimate potential. This is not a large-scaled 1994, but it is a beautifully etched wine with considerable personality. I suspect it will be accessible when released in 1-2 years, but it will benefit from 4-5 years of cellaring. It is unquestionably another 20-year effort from this vintage. (RP)" (04/1996)

1994 E. Guigal "La Landonne" Côte Rôtie
Bid on this bottle of 1994 E. Guigal "La Landonne" Côte Rôtie (98RP, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "(From the 1997 note) The great glories of this house are its Cote Roties, of which there are now five separate offerings. The single-vineyard 1994s were singing loudly when I saw them in July. All of them scored significantly higher than they did during the two previous years, which is not unusual as Guigal's upbringing (elevage) of the wines results in better examples in the bottle than in cask. All three wines flirt with a perfect score. At this tasting, they reminded me of Guigal's 1982s - opulent, sumptuously-textured, forward, rich, precocious, flattering wines that will drink well throughout their lives. The fabulous 1994 Cote Rotie La Landonne, which is more dominated by toasty new oak than La Mouline and La Turque, is extremely muscular and powerful, with high tannin as well as fabulous extract. The wine reveals a dense, black/purple color, and a tight nose with plenty of

1994 Diamond Creek "Red Rock Terrace" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1994 Diamond Creek "Red Rock Terrace" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon ((90-92RP), 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "All three 1994s are backward, well-built, tannic wines meant to last for two decades or more. I suspect they will be among the least flattering wines to taste when released. Even more tannic than the 1994 Gravelly Meadow, but still impressively endowed, is the 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon Red Rock Terrace. The color is a murky, ruby/purple, and the nose reluctantly offers up jammy red and blackcurrant scents, along with mineral and vanillin notes. Sweet, ripe, full-bodied, but ferociously tannic, this is a wine to lay away for at least a decade. " (04/1996)

1994 Zind-Humbrecht Hengst Gewürztraminer Vendange Tardive
Bid on this bottle of 1994 Zind-Humbrecht Hengst Gewürztraminer Vendange Tardive (99RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1994 Gewurztraminer Hengst V.T. represents the essence of Gewurztraminer. It tastes dry despite nearly 5% residual sugar. The natural alcohol comes in at an amazing 17+%. Made from 30 and 65-year old vines, this massive, remarkably intense, tannic, structured wine, is a smoky, mind-bogglingly, rich wine that has to be tasted to be believed. Still extremely young and unevolved, it will not begin to hit its plateau of maturity until the turn of the century, where it will remain for 20-25 years. It is a candidate for perfection! 1994 Latour, Pauillac (OWC)
Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 1994 Latour, Pauillac (OWC - 94RP, (92-94ST), 91WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is an interesting as well as great vintage for Latour. As indicated in my barrel tasting report, Latour's 1994 possesses an atypically high percentage of Merlot (27%) in the final blend. Because of this, the wine appears to have a sweeter, more fleshy texture than is typical for a young Latour, but do not make the mistake of thinking this will be a commercially-styled, easy to drink wine. It exhibits an opaque dark ruby/purple color, and a backward, intense textbook nose of walnut and cassis scents complemented by smoky pain grille notes that build in the glass. This full-bodied, powerful, layered Latour reveals high tannin, but no bitterness or astringency. The superb purity, fabulous precision, and remarkable length should ensure 35-40 years of longevity. Readers will find more fat, flesh, and glycerin than usual for a young Latour (save for such gre

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1994 Domaine de la Janasse "Vieilles Vignes" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1994 Cuvee Vieilles Vignes is a full-bodied, deep wine with great stuffing, glycerin, smoke, kirsch, and cherry fruit, as well as more alcohol. It is a terrific young Chateauneuf du Pape that is already surprisingly developed and delicious. The wine hits the palate broadside with fruit, followed by plenty of ripeness, richness, and purity. There is some tannin, but the overall impression is one of gloriously ripe, rich fruit presented in a velvety-textured, beautifully well-focused format. (RP)" (12/1996)

Bid on this bottle of 1994 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (97VN, 96RP, 92WS). Vinous: "A wine that takes over all the senses, Dunn's 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is a drop-dead gorgeous beauty. New leather, smoke and spices are some of the many notes that develop in the glass, adding complexity and character. This is an especially powerful, brooding vintage for the Howell Mountain. All the elements fall into place effortlessly. The 1994 is rich, broad, ample and incredibly expressive today. What a wine. (AG)" (02/2014)

Bid on this half-bottle of 1994 Zind Humbrecht Rangen de Thann Clos St. Urbain Gewürztraminer Grand Cru Sélection de Grains Nobles (375ml) (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "In 1999, Robert Parker called the 1994 Gewürztraminer Grand Cru Rangen de Thann Clos St Urbain Selection de Grains Nobles 'a quintessential sweet Gewürztraminer' and scored it 99+ points, because he considered it 'off the charts' in terms of flavor extraction, balance, quality, and the lavish quantity of extract and intensity'. Well, I did not know it when Olivier poured me this wine (and I am sure that if he knew about the legendary status of his wine in our data base, he at least he did not mention it), so I was free to take my own notes. Bernstein color. Deep, clear and very stony nose, crushed stones, wet volcanic rocks, malty notes, herbs, dark honey, peanut butter, dried apricots, orange zest -- all here what makes the Rangen unique. On the palate, the wine is very clear, deep and precise, very sweet but
