Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1988 Latour, Pauillac (96WS, 93VN, 91RP). Wine Spectator: "So minty, with loads of subtle ripe fruit and eucalyptus undertones. Full-bodied, with ultrafine tannins and a long, long finish. Caresses every inch of the palate. It's the quality of the tannins that's impressive here. What a great and beautiful wine. Should improve for many years to come. (JS, Web-2009)"
Starting Bid: $801.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1988 Joseph Drouhin Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru (94VN). Vinous: "The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, still replete with the transparency and tension I have remarked on before. Maybe there is a little more dryness towards the finish indicating that it should be consumed in the near future. (NM)" (05/2019)
Starting Bid: $375.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1988 Terrabianca "Vigna Della Croce" Chanti Classico Riserva (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1988 Chianti Reserva Croce reveals a saturated, opaque garnet/purple color, a huge nose of roasted hazelnuts, cedar, cassis, and truffles, and full body. The wine is wonderfully rich, expansive, and almost sweet because of the fruit's richness of fruit. (RP)" (10/1994)
Starting Bid: $69.00

Bid on this bottle of 1988 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (92JG, 92WS, 91VN, 90RP). Wine Spectator: "Aromas of black olive, blackberry and currant. Complex and fascinating. Full-bodied, with soft and velvety tannins and a long, caressing finish. Pretty and satisfying. (JS, Web Only-2009)"
Starting Bid: $110.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1988 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (95WS, 92RP, 91VN). Wine Spectator: "Complex aromas of dark chocolate, currant and cigar box. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a mouth-puckering finish. Still very concentrated and chewy. Finishes with loads of ripe fruits, tobacco and cedar. Big and juicy wine. Give it a couple of years still. (JS, Web-2009)"
Starting Bid: $560.00

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 1988 Domaine du Cayron Gigondas (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The dark garnet-colored 1988 possesses huge, peppery, fruitcake, herbaceous, olive and smoky flavors and aromas. Expansive and nearly sweet on the palate, there is no doubting the extract levels that must have been obtained to hide a wine that has an alcohol level of over 14%. This thrill-a-sip Gigondas should continue to turn heads, raise eyebrows, and horrify puritans. (RP)" (12/1996)
Starting Bid: $132.00

Bid on this bottle of 1988 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (92JD, 92RP, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This has a charming, rustic nose of leather, candlewax, black pepper and a touch of peat. The palate is cohesive and harmonious, not in the same league as the ensuing couple of vintages but with good poise and definition, notes of ripe black cherries, blueberry and iodine with vibrant acidity lending it a clean crisp finish. Perhaps a little linear compared to others but still a great, mature CdP that is a joy to drink rather than intellectualize about. (NM)" (05/2007)
Starting Bid: $80.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1988 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1988 has to be among the top two or three Cabernets of the vintage. Other than 1983, the 3,300 cases produced in 1988 is the smallest production of Dominus to date, as over half the crop was deemed unsatisfactory. Twenty-five percent new oak was used. The dense, opaque ruby/purple color exhibits great saturation and intensity, and the nose is beginning to offer up smoked herb and ripe cassis aromas. In the mouth, the wine is deep, medium to full-bodied, with excellent concentration, and one of the longest, richest finishes I have found in a Cabernet Sauvignon from 1988. (RP)" (10/1993)
Starting Bid: $360.00

Bid on this bottle of 1988 Domaine Bart Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Chambertin-Clos de Beze is excellent... It is moderately concentrated and medium bodied with a big, chocolatey, herb-scented bouquet, oaky, berry flavors, and a fine finish. It should be at its best between 1991 and 2000. (RP)" (12/1989)
Starting Bid: $75.00

Bid on this bottle of 1988 Maison Joseph Drouhin Montrachet Grand Cru "Marquis de Laguiche" (95JG, 95WS). Wine Spectator: "Has wonderful aromas and intense, concentrated almond, honey, pear and butter flavors that are tightly reined in now and in need of cellaring. Picks up toast, butter and layers of fruit on the powerful aftertaste. *Top Wines of 1991*" (02/1991)
Starting Bid: $400.00
