2009 Rene Rostaing "Cote Blonde" Cote Rotie
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Rene Rostaing "Cote Blonde" Cote Rotie (95RP, 95ST, 95VN, 95WS). Wine Spectator: "Very perfumy at first, with violet and singed bay leaf notes leading the way for very silky plum and cherry confiture flavors. The long, dark finish lets an iron hint flitter through as this expands steadily, revealing lots of charcoal-tinged grip that blossoms and blossoms, turning this into an intense, dark, brooding wine. Best from 2015 through 2027. (JM)" (07/2012)

1989 Gentaz-Dervieux "Côte Brune - Cuvée Réservée" Côte-Rôtie
Bid on this bottle of 1989 Gentaz-Dervieux "Côte Brune - Cuvée Réservée" Côte-Rôtie (95JG). John Gilman: "The 1989 Côte-Rôtie from Marius Gentaz is a brilliant wine that fully synthesizes the quality of a top-notch vintage with the magical, classic touch of a maestro. The beautiful, black fruity nose wafts from the glass in a complex aromatic constellation of black raspberries, black cherries, stony soil tones, woodsmoke, a touch of cardamom, espresso, still a bit of youthful, medicinal syrah tones, lavender and nutskins. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, young and stunning, with a lovely core of pure fruit, outstanding soil inflection, firm, well-measured tannins and brilliant length and grip on the focused and very refined, albeit, still chewy finish. This is early days still for this great vintage chez Gentaz, and I would be strongly inclined to keep it tucked away for at least another five or six years (minimum) before starting to drink it in earnest. 1985 E. Guigal Cote Rotie La Mouline
Bid on this bottle of 1985 E. Guigal Cote Rotie La Mouline (100RP, 97VN, 97WS, 96ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the all-time great La Moulines, this still youthful and unevolved wine does not have the tannic ferocity of the 1988, or the sheer force and intensity of the 1978, 1976, and 1969, but it represents the epitome of this single-vineyard wine. Everything fits perfectly in this full-bodied, black/purple-colored wine that reveals no garnet or amber at the edge of its color. The nose offers up a formidable array of overripe black raspberries and cherries intertwined with scents of cedar, chocolate, olives, and toast. Extremely full-bodied, with an unctuosity and opulence that must be tasted to be believed, this velvety-textured wine's finish lasts for over a minute. It is one of the most concentrated but profoundly endowed and well-balanced wines I have ever tasted. Like so many of the wines Guigal has produced from this vineyard, no matter how hard one tries to articul

1982 Guigal "La Landonne" Côte Rôtie
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Guigal "La Landonne" Côte Rôtie (95JD, 95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "For such a precocious vintage, the 1982 La Landonne remains a backward, beefy, smoky, chewy mouthful of tannic wine. It has thrown a huge amount of sediment, and the bottle is completely stained, as if it were a 15-year-old vintage port. The wine reveals an olive, earthy, licorice, mineral, smoked-meat nose, fabulous depth, and a huge, formidably endowed personality. It is a monstrous, super concentrated wine that should reach its apogee by the turn of the century. Anticipated maturity: 2000-2025." (01/1997)

2005 Rostaing "Côte Blonde" Côte-Rôtie
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Rostaing "Côte Blonde" Côte-Rôtie (95JD, 95RP, 95WS, 94ST). Wine Spectator: "An alluring red, with perfumy white pepper, violet, iron and black cherry notes that gain more depth and grip through the finish. Long and pure, with great minerality, this puts on serious weight as it sits in the glass. Best from 2010 through 2025. *Collectibles* (JM)" (05/2008)

1985 E. Guigal "La Turque" Côte-Rôtie
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1985 E. Guigal "La Turque" Côte-Rôtie (100RP, 96ST, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The debut vintage for this wine was especially impressive in view of the fact that the vineyard was so young. The 1985 La Turque's color remains a dark purple, with no signs of amber or lightening. The nose explodes from the glass, revealing scents of jammy black fruits, licorice, lead pencil, and smoke. Sweet, thick, highly concentrated flavors contain enough acidity and soft wood tannin to give the wine a well-focused feel. This prodigiously endowed, rich wine should continue to evolve. (RP)" (01/1997)
