100 points James Suckling: "This is the greatest Cheval des Andes ever. Discrete aromas of blackberries, flowers, stone and licorice. So perfumed. The integration of fruit, tannins and acidity is fantastic. Full-bodied, tight and solid with beautiful depth and integrity. Extremely long and exciting. Complex and compelling with such refinement and length." (04/2020) 97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "2017 saw an early harvest, but they started picking on the 6th of March and continued until the 10th of April, more or less normal dates, early but ...

Bid on this 7-bottle lot of 2010 & 2012 Chakana "Estate" Malbec Mendoza Tasting Lot, including 1-bottle of 2010 Chakana "Estate" Malbec Mendoza (93RP) and 6-bottles of 2012 Chakana "Estate Selection" Malbec Mendoza (92RP, 90ST, 90VN). Of the 2010 Chakana "Estate" Malbec Mendoza,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2010 Estate Selection seems even better, perhaps because it’s had an extra year of bottle age. The silky tannins, sweet red and black fruits, and the big, perfumed nose of black fruits, flowers and white chocolate are followed by a full-bodied, remarkably concentrated wine that is a steal at this price point. Both of these should drink well for 5-6 years. (RP)" (06/2012)

Bid on this 5-500 ml-bottle lot of 2009 Susana Balbo Late Harvest Torrontés Mendoza (500ml) (90RP, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Nevertheless, the 2009 Torrontes Late Harvest was made from Mendoza fruit in which 20% of the wine was aged for 3 months in new French oak. Light gold in color with a perfumed nose of quince, marmalade, and ginger, on the palate it is viscous, medium sweet, and lively enough to serve as an aperitif. There is no reason to delay gratification with this tasty effort; drink it over the next 12-18 months. Susana Balbo is credited with developing the modern style of Torrontes during the years she lived in Cafayate. Because of the popularity the grape has achieved, it is being planted increasingly in Mendoza (but where there are no old-vines such as can be found in Cafayate). (JM)" (12/2010)

Bid on this 7-500 ml-bottle lot of 2008 Susana Balbo Late Harvest Malbec Mendoza (500ml). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(for 500 ml.) High-toned aromas of blackberry, cassis, chocolate, mint and truffle. Very sweet, silky and concentrated but laid-back and not yet complex. A fruit bomb complicated by notes of chocolate and clove. I could see this working well with a chocolate dessert. This is sexy already, and I'd be curious to see if it gained in nuance with some more time in bottle. (ST)" (11/2011)
