2018 Borell-Diehl Müller Thurgau Pfalz(1L)

Importer's notes: "Müller-Thurgau was created in Switzerland in the 19th century as a hardy, early-ripening grape for table wines. It is now the most widely grown grape in Germany. Borell-Diehl makes it in the classic style: fresh, crisp, limey, and ridiculously easy to drink. A modest 12% alcohol with great acids and no oak (of course), it beats Pinot Grigio at its own game, offering great refreshment in a dry style but also the unique fruitiness of a cool climate aromatic grape. Did we mention it’s in a LITER? 33% more wine!"

2017 Wirsching Iphöfer Scheurebe Trocken Franken

Wine Spectator: "A heavier example, with a velvety texture. Not as highly aromatic as other Scheurebe whites, this offers notes of melon and dandelion at the core. Savory finish. Drink now through 2023. " (07/2019)

2018 Weingut Fürst Elbling Mosel (1L)

Fürst makes this easy-going white to be delightful as a picinic wine or aperitif. It is made in a feinherb style which means it's a whisker off-dry, but to be honest doesn't show any notable sweetness at all. Elbling is a historic vinifera grape varietal that was cultivated primarily in the Mosel Valley since Roman times and eventually spread to dominate the extensive plantings of medieval Germany. Very few producers are left making wines from this varietal but Fürst take theirs very seriously and this is a fantastic bottle of wine. Ultimately quaffable, ...

2017 Wirsching "Estate" Silvaner Trocken Franken

Importer's notes: "This Silvaner has aromatics of melon, pear, and almonds. For such a delicate wine, it has surprising volume in the mouth. On the palate it displays delicate pear fruit, with fine mineral details, and a clean mineral driven finish."

2017 Wirsching Iphöfer Kronsberg "Alte Reben" Silvaner Trocken Franken (Dry)(ships as 3L)

90 points Wine Spectator: "An elderflower aroma draws you into this silky white, offering flavors of ruby grapefruit, blood orange and nectarine. Rose petal hints add to the complexity of the mineral-infused finish. Drink now through 2023." (07/2019)

2017 Müller-Catoir Haardt Scheurebe Trocken

93 points James Suckling: "The whiff of smoke gives the cassis nose of this wine an extra dimension. Concentrated and racy with a dangerous amount of energy. So juicy and vibrant with a long and very clean finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold. " (09/2011) 90 points Vinous: "Intense black currant, elderflower, gooseberry and grapefruit on the nose suggest a Scheurebe-Sauvignon meld, and notes of huckleberry, juniper, and sage on the firm but oily palate reinforce that impression. Even by Scheurebe or Sauvignon standards, this represents ...

2016 Kunstler Alvarinho Trocken Rheingau (Previously $45)

92 points James Suckling: "Does the Portuguese Alvarinho (the same grape as Spain's Albarino) in Germany seem absurd? Then taste the powerful and crisp wine that has considerable herbal and mineral complexity at the long finish. Best through 2022. " (08/2017) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Künstler's 2016 Alvarinho is a very good wine that will quickly acquire its fans: Packed with bright tropical fruit and ripe peach aromas along with mineral notes, this is a round and slightly sweet white with lush and mouth-filling fruit that is structured by remar ...
