Domestic Wine

When people consider domestic wine, they normally think about the state of California. The fine viticultural regions within California, including the Napa Valley, Sonoma, Santa Cruz Mountains, Mendocino and Santa Barbara, are capable of growing grapes of world-class quality. But there's plenty of fabulous wine coming from other states, too. Oregon, Washington and New York are also causing eyebrows and glasses to be raised around the world. We've been selling domestic wines since 1976 and all three of our stores are located in California, so it's safe to say that this territory has a special place in our heart. Take a look...

This wine comes from one of the more renowned Pinot Noir producers in Northern California. Really! Almonds and berries lead the nose, but it boasts voluminous depth with notes of peanuts, iced tea, orange blossom, tobacco leaf, and baking spice. 2015 Renwood Fiddletown Zinfandel
Back In Stock!
Top Pick!
Connoisseurs Guide: "Vanillin oak makes a big play for attention right from the start here and is a sustained, but not overly pushy adjunct to this one's principal theme of well-defined, berry-like fruit. While the wine begins on a supple note that briefly suggests that it's a Zinfandel best tagged for drinking in the short term, it tightens and firms up in a hurry and shows the tannic, Amador grip of one that, in fact, warrants a bit of time before rounding in to its best. Hasty drinking is not advised here, and its path to better will extend for anothe...

Brandy is one of the most complex and misunderstood categories today. It's clear that the big producers see a bright future for craft Brandy and consolidation has already begun to hit the category. Clear Creek McCarthy's "Hard Water Exclusive" Single Barrel #168 Cask Strength Oregon Single Malt Whiskey (750ml)

The wonderful McCarthy's Single Malt whisky has been a staple on our shelves since Steve McCarthy first thought to import Scottish peated malt and distill the grain on his little Holstein pot still. Steve is one of the godfathers of American craft distilling and fired up his first still to make pear eau-de-vie in 1985. His interesting idea to blend very smoky spirits with active air-dried Oregon oak is one of the great revelations in craft whisky. In so many ways, Steve was ahead of his time. David Arthur's "Elevation 1147" is single-vineyard bottling of Cabernet Sauvignon that is the highest expression of the winery's Pritchard Hill site. Aged for 23 months in 90% new French oak barrels, the wine wakes you up with its vanilla crème and fresh-brewed coffee nose, complemented by blueberry scone, cherry and currant fruit. In the mouth it's full of sweet, rich fruit with a plush, expansive texture that won't quit. Drinkable now with some decanting, this is a beauty to lay down for a decade or more.
