(Gold Medal, Decanter World of Wine Awards 2017) " 96 points James Suckling: "An impressive wine that is very composed and complex and shows a level of fruit intensity that really only belongs to the best chardonnays from any part of the world. Grapefruit, white peach and chalky, flinty reductive edges. Well-struck winemaking on display. Powerful fruit on the p...

Winery notes: "Our heirloom Sauvignon Blanc is a pure triumph over the labor of love required to produce it. Picked over three passes, and lightly pressed to preserve freshness and fruit aromatics, portions of Josephine are then fermented and aged separately in amphoras, concrete, French oak barrels, acacia barrels and a stainless steel tank. The result: delicate aromas of citrus, guava, and white stone fruit, backed by a core of refined minerality, and crisp acidity."

Medium-bodied, the palate delivers a seriously racy backbone and fantastic intensity with a long, pure, citrusy finish. (LPB)" (11/2019)

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Peter Michael's delicious 2008 L'Apres Midi, a blend of 86% Sauvignon Blanc and 14% Semillon. One of the finest examples of this cuvee they have made in many years, the 2008 has the texture of a top Chardonnay. One-hundred percent barrel fermented, it exhibits abundant amounts of honeyed lemon grass, fig, spice box, melon, and waxy fruit flavors. Zesty acidity provides vivaciousness to all of its component parts. It should drink well for 4-5 years." (02/10) 91 points Wine Spectator: "Wonderfully rich, complex and...

90 points James Suckling: "This has a plush and plump feel with a bright core of poached cherries and wild raspberries and supple, ripe tannins that rise off the finish." (08/2019)

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "This vineyard-designated white is impressively layered and complex, with integrated acidity and texture to its light-bodied character. Lime, cantaloupe and wet stone give it a fruity complexion met by a note of salty brine. (VB)" (11/2018) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Complex, showing a thread of minerality running through the lime and grapefruit flavors at the core, adding a saline note. Lemon zest and roasted herb details gain momentum on the crisp finish. (MW)" (10/2018)

From the winery: "100% whole-cluster, skin-fermented Sauvignon Blanc from Farina on Sonoma Mountain. HA! Complicated. From two different lots and several fermentations within the second lot. Lot 1: Screeching high acidity, shrill. Sharp tannins. 2d: perfection and typicity. Good, pumpkin-y color."

Vinous: "Light yellow. Ripe citrus fruits and melon on the fragrant nose and in the mouth. Smooth and fleshy in texture, showing good energy and a seamless quality on the vaguely warm finish. (JR)" (09/2018) Wine Enthusiast: "Crisp aromas of honeysuckle, Anjou pear and green apple lead into more layers of grass, nectarine and wet stone on this bottling, which evolves quickly in the glass. There is strong tension to the palate, where floral flavors meet with honeydew and lemon zest. (MK)" (10/2018) Wine Spectator: "Tangy, with a core of grapefruit and...

*Natural Wine, Orange Wine*
Price: $49.99

94 points James Suckling: "Inspired by the dry, white Bordeaux wines, there’s just 2% barrel-fermented semillon here, offering a rich array of deep-set, tropical-fruit flavors and the oak is nicely integrated. The yields are lower, the fruit is ripe and the depth of flavor is a real highlight. Deep, citrus and tropical-fruit flavors with seriously silky textural appeal. Drink or hold." (12/2019) 91 points Wine Spectator: "Shows off some toasted coconut and spice notes up front, complementing the lemon meringue, marmalade and orange zest flavors. The ri...

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The blend for the 2010 Sauvignon Blanc L’Apres Midi (1,600 cases produced) was 86% Sauvignon Blanc and 14% Semillon. This beautiful dry white offers copious notes of figs, honeydew melons and lemon grass along with beautiful richness. It actually needs 1-2 more years in the bottle to express its full personality. It should keep for 3-4 years thereafter. (RP)" (12/2013) 94 points Vinous: "The 2010 Sauvignon Blanc L'Après-Midi is gorgeous. White peaches, flowers, spices, mint and pistachio are some of the notes...

The site is located at the confluence of two waterways, Wine Creek and Dry Creek. The wine's mineral freshness comes from the alluvial, rocky soils that have been scoured over millennia. The rare Musqué clone, which adds complexity and aromatic lift, is pla...

The Rochioli family has been growing grapes on its 136-acre ranch since the 1930s. In 1984, Tom Rochioli created the first wines to be produced under the Rochioli name. The 9,000-case winery produces Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Noir. Robert Parker, after his 2014 visit, said of the estate: "This enviable iconic winery in the heart of the Russian River Valley, on Westside Road, has a long, justifiable and hard-earned reputation for impeccable quality as well as grape growing. It is always a thrill to taste the wines from Tom Rochioli."

The Millet Sancerre has been a favorite here at K&L for a long time. Grown in limestone-clay soil, the wine reflects the terroir wonderfully. The flavors are bright with lime, mineral, passion fruit, and that wonderful chalkiness one wants from a Sancerre. This wine over delivers and pairs beautifully with oily seafood dishes and of course, your favorite cheeses.

The winery now known as Merryvale was founded in sunny St. Helena right after Prohibition, in 1933. Wine country trivia: at one time the winery was, indeed, called Sunny St. Helena, and was partly owned by the Mondavi family! The winery was relaunched in 1983, rechristened Merryvale in 1991, and since the late 1990s has been modernized to produce wines of contemporary Napa Valley standard of high quality. The winery's note on the 2018 Blanc: "Our Sauvignon Blanc is a very small, hand-crafted and artisan produced wine. The techniques used go back to the t...

Winery Notes: Established in 2012, Maître de Chai is the personal project of Marty Winters and Alex Pitts. Maître de Chai translates to cellar master, or the person responsible for the development and aging of wine. The élevage for this wine was very simple: we harvested all of the fruit from the vineyard and had a 24 hour maceration of the juice and skins together. The next day we crushed the grapes, and then fermented in neutral barrels. The wine stayed on its lees throughout the fermentation, and we bottled the wine with a minimal amount of sulfur. ...

Winemaker's notes: "“Mary’s Vineyard is a warm site to grow aromatic white wines and I am consistently pleased with the balance of ripe tropical fruit and bright acidity in the grapes. This is unmistakably Sauvignon Blanc with aromas of lemongrass, zesty grapefruit, crisp honeydew melon, and fresh citrus. More Sancerre in style, this wine has light to medium bo...
