94-96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is the standout wine for Domaine d'Eugenie this year. It was cropped at 16 hectoliters per hectare (compared to 38 hectoliters per hectare in 2017). It easily is blessed with the finest aromatics from the domaine: red and black fruit, fine mineralité with just a hint of tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy black fruit, a fine bead of acidity—real personality here, with a very pure and tensile finish that lingers in the mouth. I like the way it just keeps rolling ...

95-97 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A discreet application of wood does not reduce the considerable appeal of the ripe, pure and airy nose with its broad mélange of wild red berry fruit liqueur, earth, spice, violets and a hint of animale. The broad-shouldered flavors possess superb mid-palate concentration that enrobes the buried but still quite firm tannins while culminating in a beautifully balanced, muscular and explosively long finish. This is also very clearly built to age yet like the Clos St. Denis, there is so much sap that this could be dr...

94-96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From barrel, the 2012 Clos de Vougeot Cuvée Vieilles Vignes has one of my favourite bouquets with wonderful vibrancy, mineralite and tension. The palate has a beguiling sense of symmetry and tension, blessed with precocious, beautifully aligned mineral-rich black and red fruit towards the finish. One of the best Clos de Vougeot this year. (NM)" (12/2013) 92-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is aromatically riper than the Chambertin though that is not especially surprising. There is fine layering to ...

92-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is very ripe, indeed to the point where the cassis, warm earth and softly floral-scented aromas exhibit hints of mocha. In much the same fashion as the Clos St. Denis there is a relatively sleek mouth feel to the solidly intense and muscular larger-scaled flavors that possess a lovely sense of harmony and excellent complexity on the lingering finish that is a bit less youthfully austere than usual." (04/2018) 94 points Wine Spectator: "Black cherry and blackberry compote flavors hold court in this fruit-fil...

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru is showing very well, soaring from the glass with aromas of wild berries, rose petals, violets, orange rind and dark chocolate. On the palate, it's full-bodied, concentrated and muscular, with lively acids and a powdery but elegantly refined chassis of structuring tannins, concluding with a long and resonant finish. (WK)" (01/2020) K&L Notes: 93-97pts Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy: "A rental agreement in the Grand Maupertui sector, but Henri puts neither the word domaine nor the ...

96 points Decanter: "Hudelot-Noëllat's 0.8ha of the Clos are made up of two parcels, both of them in the upper part of the grand cru. Intensely aromatic and sweet, this is the quintessence of Pinot Noir, with raspberry and wild strawberry fruit complemented by acidity and 40% new wood. Deliciously hedonistic. Drinking Window 2025-2030. (TA) " (10/2018) 94 points John Gilman: "The 2017 Clos Vougeot from Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat is a superb wine in the making. The bouquet is deep, sappy and properly reserved in personality, offering up a fine blend of p...

92-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Earthy red berry fruit aromas trimmed in a discreet touch of wood spice are laced with earth, forest floor and violet hints. The full-bodied and tautly muscled broad-shouldered flavors possess excellent power and detail on the stunningly long, mildly rustic and youthfully austere finish. This is quite serious and clearly very structured yet it stops short of being overtly old school in style; that said, this will not be an early drinker." (01/2017) 92-94 points Vinous: "(Faiveley has one parcel in the middle of ...

90-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A mildly toasty and markedly floral nose speaks of spiced plum, lavender, violet and red cherry. The solidly concentrated and generously proportioned medium-bodied flavors brim with sappy dry extract that also buffers the moderately firm tannins on the powerful and grippy finish that exudes a hint of bitter chocolate. Patience is once again strongly advised." (04/2019) 93 points James Suckling: "Aromas of smoke, leather and hints of asphalt and dark berries, following through to a full body, chewy tannins and a ...

96 points James Suckling: "Black cherries and plums with an intense, earthy note. Great depth and structure, the power married to cool freshness that gives this great vitality. Enormously long and complex finish." (02/2019) 93-95 points Vinous: "The 2017 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru comes from a parcel that Erwan Faiveley candidly said is less consistent, at the mercy of the weather and dependent on a dry season. It has a charming, quite effervescent bouquet of raspberry and cranberry fruit infused with candied orange peel. A tangible sense of mineralité ...

93 points John Gilman: "The 2017 Clos Vougeot from Domaine Coquard Loison Fleurot is a fine bottle in the making. The estate owns two separate parcels in the Clos and the vines are all old, so the average here is seventy years of age. The wine sees fifty percent new wood and the 2017 version offers up a bright bouquet of cherries, red plums, pigeon, a lovely array of soil tones, woodsmoke, mustard seed and spicy oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and nicely sappy at the core, with ripe tannins, fine focus and grip and a long, nascently comp...

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Chateau de la Tour Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes (97BH, 95ST, 95VN). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Out of all of the less than 20 year old wines in the tasting, the 2005 possesses the most aromatic complexity with simply knockout scents of still relatively primary red and dark berry fruit, spice, floral, humus, game and smoked tea. There is strikingly good concentration yet absolutely no sense of heaviness to the seductively textured and velvety broad-shouldered flavors that coat the mouth with abundant reserves of dry extract that also buffer the still very firm tannic spine. In addition to the obvious assets of complexity and concentration, what really impresses me about this exceptionally powerful wine is the impeccable balance and harmony as nary a hair is out of place. Note however that this is going to be one very, very long-lived effort and I wouldn't touch a bottle for at least another 10 to 12 years. In a word, stunning." (01/2014)
Starting Bid: $480.00

Bid on this bottle of 1999 Domaine Méo-Camuzet Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru (93BH, 91ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "At ten years of age, this remains quite fresh with a lightly spiced, elegant and pure nose of still largely primary earth-suffused red and dark berry fruit aromas that marry into supple, stylish and delicious medium weight plus flavors that possess mouth coating structure on the linear and moderately austere but impressively long finish. The structural elements are notably firm but well-integrated and the overall impression is one of harmony and as such, this should age gracefully for years." (11/2009)
Starting Bid: $350.00

Bid on this bottle of 2008 Château de la Tour Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru (94BH, 92ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is still exceptionally young and primary with a restrained nose that includes a discreet but not invisible application of wood that sets off wonderfully cool and pure aromas of red currant, earth and an interesting game hint. There is impressive size and weight to the large-scaled flavors that are blessed with excellent concentration and outstanding dry extract levels that confer a textured mouth feel to the hugely long and classically austere finish. This is a stunner of a wine that should be capable of delivering greatness in 15 to 20 years." (01/2014)
Starting Bid: $100.00

Bid on this bottle of 1993 Domaine A&F Gros Clos Vougeot Grand Cru "Le Grand Maupertuis" (93BH, 90RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is just as complex as it always was but has now turned entirely secondary though there is no sous bois in evidence. This is a powerful and very dense example of the vineyard with the hallmark minerality of a fine Grand Maupertuis, all wrapped in a velvety, long and seductively textured finish where all of the depth of the nose is captured yet again. This is terrific and has arrived at its peak though note that it should hold here easily for at least another decade, perhaps longer." (12/2012)
