We only received 300 bottles of this all Pinot Blanc rarity from Lamoureux, an all- estate-grown Champagne from Les Riceys, just three miles from the border with Burgundy. This comes from a half-acre parcel that only yields one press load each year, but sadly in some years yields nothing as Pinot Blanc buds early and is prone to early frost. This has seen three years of aging on the lees and has some very nice toasty quality to go with the exotic fruit of the Pinot Blanc. Best of all, this broad, rich Champagne finishes dry at just 7 grams per liter of d...

93 points James Suckling: "A subtle white with white pepper, thyme, citrus and quartz and other minerals. What this really trades in is minerality, whereby flinty and stoney aromas are conveyed in a linear streak of acidity. Medium-bodied and medium-long on the finish." (04/2019) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is the wine that best embodies the identity and personality of this iconic farming cooperative in Alto Adige. The 2018 Alto Adige Terlano Cuvèe is a blend of 60% Pinot Bianco, 30% Chardonnay and 10% Sauvignon Blanc. In the past, I...

90 points James Suckling: "Waxy lemons, apple curd and dried blossom are out on show on the nose. The medium-to full-bodied palate is textured and nicely fleshy. " (08/2019)

Wine Enthusiast: "A gentle notion of Mirabelle on the nose leads to equally subtle fruit on the fresh palate. The body is light, bright but rounded, finishing dry with a pure note of ripe lemon. (AK)" (05/2020)

93 points Decanter: "A preview of the warm 2017 vintage where the generous character of the harvest with the youthfulness of the wine create a heady impact. Slightly ester-y on the nose, extremely fresh with lime and lemon peel aromas, white rose and lavender with a toasty finish, the wine flows with vibrancy over the palate (almost electric) and is extremely salty at the end. The acid is very well-binded with fruit and the typical grace and weight of Terlano Pinot Blancs." (09/2019)

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is always one of the most compelling bottlings under the Miller family's J. Wilkes label. Rounded aromas of yellow apple, Tuscan melon, wet gravel and sea salt show on the nose, while the palate combines apple with nectarine and peach. The underlying savory saltiness carries into the finish. (MK)" (01/2020)

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Exotic yellow-spice notes meet with lean lime pith on the light and crisp nose of this old-vine expression from a historic winery. Meyer-lemon rind and juice show brightly on the palate, where grippy chalkiness complements rich lemon-curd flavors. (MK)" (11/2016) Wine Spectator: "The peach and honey flavors are accented by a squirt of juicy lime juice in this fleshy and succulent version, with a touch of toasted almond. Very smooth and creamy on the refreshing finish. (MW)" (11/2016)

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "There is a hint of the exotic present on the ripe pear and essence of apple-scented nose. The exceptionally rich, generous and fleshy flavors possess better volume and notably better complexity on the lingering and reasonably well-balanced finale. This isn't a classic vintage for this wine but it is not without appeal." (06/2017) Decanter: "A rarity: Pinot Blanc in Nuits-St-Georges. It has a very attractive, vibrant nose of pears and white pepper. Fine attack on the palate, almost racy. It has a juicy and rounded character a...

Weissburgunder is Pinot Bianco is Pinot Blanc — same grape, grown in the spectacular alpine setting of Alto Adige. From the importer: "The winery Gump (Gumphof) is nestled in the steep slopes at the entry of the Isarco Valley and its vineyards stretch from an altitude of 350 to 550 metres (1,150-1,800 feet) above sea level. The five hectare (ten acres) are planted with Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon, Gewürztraminer, Schiava and Pinot Noir wines. At an age of 28, Markus Prackwieser started a quiet transformation and has produced his own wine since. His wines hav...

Pinot Blanc is often an overlooked varietal, as it often grown for basic patio wines and the like. However, in the hands of one of Alsace's most historic families, it can be so much more beguiling. Trimbach's version is redolent of apple and pear with spicy nuance and subtle acidity making it both an ideal food pairing wine and thoroughly enjoyable aperitif wine for warm day. For those who've overlooked Pinot Blanc, it's a bright and buoyant introduction to one of the most underrated varietals in the wine world.

Wine Enthusiast: "Subtle, fresh notes of ripe pear on the nose of this wine also appear with brightness on the palate. Generous fruit is met with fresh yeastiness on the juicy palate that comes to a fresh, clean and dry finish. (AK)" (05/2020)

91 points James Suckling: "Super intense lemon blossom and chamomile flowers on the nose, leading to a satisfyingly fleshy palate that harnesses ripe-peach flavor nicely. Drink now. Screw cap." (09/2019) 91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Apple blossom and fresh apple flesh notes on the nose signal freshness as well as subtlety. The light palate is bright and fresh and has a lovely earthy edge that lends texture. This is bright, pure, harmonious and utterly appetizing." (09/2019)
