Clan Denny proudly holds specialist, rare and aged single malt and single grain Scotch whiskies. Bottled as the distiller intended, without coloring or chill filtration, affording the whisky a rich, oily quality. A Douglas Laing bottling of 10 year old single malt from the Craigellachie distillery, released as part of the Clan Denny series. Only 382 bottles were made. "Craigellachie" and "Clan Denny" sound kind of similar, so we hope that influenced the decision to release this whisky under this bottling range.

Winemaker's Notes: "The combination of clones and the intricacies resulting from the native ferment have resulted in a gorgeous Rosé, abundant with fresh nectarine and white peach, wild strawberry, and ruby red grapefruit zest. Aromatic and fresh throughout, with subtle notes of cherry blossom and cranberry skin on the finish. This wine will surely pair amazingly with food as well as being an ideal easy drinker for an afternoon on the porch, with its juicy mouthfeel, and precise acidity. The fourth vintage from our Estate Pinot Noir vineyard yielded a ph...

2014 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Back In Stock!
100 points James Suckling: "Aromatic and vivid with blackberries, fresh mushrooms, blackcurrants and flowers. Full-bodied, firm and very silky. Tightly wound ball of silk. Extremely long and linear. Fine-grained. Lasts for minutes. Reminiscent of the great Napa reds of the 1950s and 1960s. Best to taste in 2025 but superb now. Greatest Bryant ever. *Top 100 of 2017*" (01/2017) 99 points Vinous: "Bryant's 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is absolutely stunning. Vibrant, nuanced and exceptionally polished, the 2014 captures all the potential this wine showed when...

2016 Nada Fiorenzo "Rombone" Barbaresco (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
96 points Vinous: "The 2016 Barbaresco Rombone is the most finessed Rombone I have tasted in twenty years of visiting the property. A reduction of time in barrique in favor of cask seems to release the wine's aromatic intensity while giving a more elegant, mid-weight Rombone with less overt unctuousness and much more Nebbiolo character. Kirsch, blood orange, mint, chalk and sage are some of the many notes that inform this utterly beguiling, alluring Barbaresco. In short, this is what Treiso is all about. What a wine! (AG)" (11/2019)

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Enticing aromas of cassis, cocoa and underbrush lead the nose. The dense palate offers blackberry jam, tobacco and licorice alongside firm, polished tannins. (KO)" (12/2018)

Winery notes: "Napa Valley native and winemaker, Tony Coltrin, brings more than 40 years of winemaking experience to Oberon, with expertise in sourcing quality fruit from the best vineyards in the valley and understanding the region’s uniqueness for growing classic Bordeaux varieties. His long-standing relationships with local growers ensure a consistency in the quality of the grapes grown in premier Napa sub-appellations for Oberon."

94 points Vinous: "The 2016 Barbaresco Manzola is a brilliant wine. Freshly cut flowers, sweet red berries, mint, chalk and white pepper all pulse through the 2016. A Barbaresco of energy and tension, the 2016 is a bit nervous in feel, and yet it also has terrific depth, not to mention exceptional balance. The 2016 is one of the finest Manzolas I can remember tasting. In this range, the Manzola is distinguished by its saline minerality and drive. (AG)" (11/2019)

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a stellar wine, especially considering it is simply the family's appellation blend. Aromas of crisp black raspberry, thyme, sagebrush and mint provide tremendous depth on the nose. The palate is lively, elegant and very smooth, showing white pepper, cedar and more black-raspberry flavors. *Editor's Choice* (MK)" (10/2018) 92 points Vinous: "The 2016 Pinot Noir is fabulous. Bright, floral and lifted, with striking fruit presence, the 2016 Pinot delivers serious quality for the money. Bright red and purplish stone frui...

94 points James Suckling: "A juicy and savory Napa red showing plums, chocolate, walnuts and cedar. Full-bodied with round and chewy tannins, yet this is polished and pretty. Better in 2019." (01/2017) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve from Oakville shows plenty of blackberry, cassis, graphite, licorice, an opaque purple color, sweet blue and black fruits with ripe tannin and a nice, well-delineated full-bodied mouthfeel. Like most 2014s, it is already showing plenty of charm and fruit, but this has slightly ...

100 points Decanter: "A perfect wine: extraordinary chypre and warm earth notes and the powerful fruit follows. Phenomenal Shiraz with 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. (MJ)" (09/2018) 98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Rich, concentrated and intense, the 2014 Grange delivers exactly what we've come to expect from this Penfolds icon wine. It's full-bodied, velvety in feel and loaded with plummy fruit, framed in vanilla and cedar. Dense, powerful and tannic, it should prove to be long lived, even by Grange standards. Gago doesn't rate the vintage overall th...

94 points Vinous: "The 2016 Barbaresco Montaribaldi is generous and ample in the glass. Spice, leather, smoke, licorice and dried flowers are some of the many notes that develop in this gorgeous, enveloping Barbaresco. At this stage, the Montaribaldi is the most reticent of the Nada Barbarescos, but its pedigree and potential are both evident. Black cherry, tobacco, spice, leather and scorched earth, along with broad swaths of tannin, add gravitas to this powerful, virile Barbaresco. (AG)" (11/2019)

94 points Vinous: "The 2015 Pinot Noir Bearwallow Vineyard, from Kevin Harvey's Anderson Valley vineyard, brings together captivating aromatics and layers of intense, red-toned fruit that are the signatures of this site and district in Anderson Valley. The interplay of those elements yields an intense, persistent Pinot Noir endowed with real class. Sweet red cherry, plum, mint, chalk and white flowers reappear on the striking, beautifully delineated finish. This is an impressive debut from Rivers-Marie. (AG)" (03/2017)

96 points Wine Enthusiast: "Strong but intriguing. Medium color and body, with rich aromas of burnt orange and caramel. The flavors also reflected burnt orange and caramel, plus a spicy tinge reminiscent of cassia bark or Red-Hot candies. The finish lingers, pleasant, inviting and warm. Might be good for Manhattans--a touch of fruit or sweetness would go well with this rye. Excellent value. (KN)" (11/2010) 95 points Whisky Advocate: "A blend of two whiskeys; a 6 year old made from 95% rye and a 16 year old made from 80% rye. These are very high percen...

2012 Plumpjack "Reserve" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (screw cap bottling) (Previously $300) (Previously $300)
Back In Stock!
96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Estate Oakville adds a lot of structure and even more density to the basic cuvée. It’s an inky ruby/purple, has notes of graphite and toasty vanilla, but is dominated by the black cherry and blackcurrant fruit spectrum. Full-bodied, powerful and formidable in extract and richness, this wine will benefit from 3-5 years of cellaring and keep 25-30 years. It’s a stunning example of the vintage from a great terroir. (RP) 96+ points" (10/2014) 96 points Vinous: "Dark red cherry ja...

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 46% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 20 Mourvèdre and 4% Cinsault, the 2014 Verbiage was my favorite of these reds from Tercero, wafting from the glass with notes of Provençal herbs, sweet berries, dried cherry, cassis, grilled meat and spice that nod to the Southern Rhône. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, supple and seamless with a succulent core of fruit, velvety tannins and a long, sapid finish. It's a nicely balanced, characterful and keenly priced red that should drink well for the better part of a d...

98 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2016 Pinot Noir Bodega Headlines Vineyard Cuvee Elizabeth is another more elegant, almost perfect wine from this estate. Thrilling notes of smoked red cherries, earth, forest floor, and graphite all give way to a medium-bodied, vibrant, racy wine that has flawless balance, crunchy, vibrant fruit, notable tannins, and a great finish. This is another awesome wine that will benefit from a year or two of bottle age and keep for a decade." (06/2019) 96 points Vinous: "The 2016 Pinot Noir Bodega Headlands Cuvée Elizabeth is a fasc...

2009 L'Evangile, Pomerol
Top Pick!
100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An astonishing effort from the Rothschild family, the 2009 l’Evangile may be the reference point offering from this estate for decades to come. A blend of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc aged in 100% new oak, with 15% natural alcohol, it exhibits a sumptuous bouquet of caramels, black raspberry liqueur, blackberries, violets, graphite and truffles. Thick, viscous flavors are reminiscent of such super-ripe vintages as 1982, 1959, 1949 and 1947. The striking aromatics, massive, full-bodied mouthfeel and multilaye...

90 points Wine & Spirits: "Crushed-rose scents and obsidian-black tannins surround this wine’s raspberry flavors. The rose scents last, as do the hard, mineral tannins, both outpacing the fruit for now. Pour this with a char-grilled steak to bring the fruit forward." (12/2018) K&L Notes: Winemaker Notes: "The fruit for our Reserve Cabernet is sourced from the Oak Knoll appellation and our two estate vineyards in the Rutherford appellation, Franklin and Abela. Perfect climatic conditions and the region’s deep, loamy, well-drained soils produce dark, int...

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 EE Tench Vineyard, a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Cabernet Franc, is a stunner. This comes from the red, rocky terraces near the Dalla Valle Vineyard on the western Vaca hillsides in Oakville. This wine has great intensity, with notes of scorched earth, jammy blackberry and cassis fruit, some licorice, underbrush and truffle. It is elegant, yet powerful and authoritative, pure and multi-layered, with a phenomenal finish of close to 50 seconds. (RP)" (10/2015) 96 points Vinous: "A wine of sup...

96 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The flagship is the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve and it's a blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and the balance Petit Verdot and Malbec that’s mostly from Howell Mountain, with small lots from St Helena, Spring Mountain, Mount Veeder, and Calistoga. Aged 20 months in 82% new French oak, it sports an inky, opaque color to go with killer notes of blackcurrants, scorched earth, hints of oak, graphite and minerality. Rich, full-bodied and beautifully concentrated, it's tight and backward, and is more reminiscent of a 2013 than ...

91 points James Suckling: "Very minty with some passion fruit. This is a really juicy but rather sleek Auslese with moderate sweetness. It has got a lot of lemon freshness at the finish." (06/2018) K&L Notes: 92 points Mosel Fine Wines: "AP: 06 18. The 2017er Erdener Prälat Auslese was made from fruit harvested at 107° Oechsle. It unfolds a fascinating and delicately ripe nose driven by toffee, almond cream, smoke, pineapple, pear, orange blossom, minty herbs and anise. The wine develops the full presence of an Auslese GK on the palate, where intense j...

2007 Rieussec, Sauternes (Previously $90) (Previously $90)
Top Pick!
93-96 points Wine Spectator: "Balanced and very spicy, with almond paste and apricot. Full-bodied, medium sweet, with a long, fruity, tangy finish. Layered and stylish. (JS, Web Only—2008)" 90-93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright, pale yellow-gold. Aromas of very ripe peach, honey and vanilla are a bit youthfully disjointed. Sweet, supple and fat, currently showing more spice than fruit. Finishes broad and spicy, with a suggestion of minerality. (ST)" (08/2008) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Rieussec is a b...

2016 Hirsch Gaisberg Riesling Kamptal (Biodynamic) (Previously $50) (Previously $50)
Back In Stock!
92 points Vinous: "Peach, orange, lime, oregano, peony, rowan and carnation combine for a pungent and (given that it’s Gaisberg we’re talking about) unexpectedly floral nose. The midpalate is glossy and richly fruited yet delightfully buoyant and brightly juicy, with the effusive array of floral elements persisting as inner-mouth perfume. Zesty citrus peel and piquant apricot kernel lend stimulating counterpoint to an impressively sustained finish suffused with mouthwatering salinity. (DS)" (12/2018) K&L Notes: Stephan Reinhardt writes: "Johannes Hirsc...

98 points James Suckling: "The evolution of this wine has been phenomenal since I tasted it in barrel a year ago with the same black cherry, plum and citrus character but with a turn to orange leaf, dark Chinese tea, and mushroom. Full body, fine and velvety tannins with a touch of dust to the texture. So much chocolate and fruit undertones with forest floor and hints of tobacco, too. The mouthfeel and complexity are seductive. Better from 2022 but a joy to taste. Spring 2018 release." (01/2018) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Cabern...

92 points Wine Spectator: " *Highly Recommended* Aromas of ripe apples, honey and spices follow through to a full-bodied palate, very sweet and spicy, with loads of spicy botrytis character and a long finish. Lively! Better than the 2001. Best after 2008." (03/2006) Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Pale yellow-gold. Peach, coconut, menthol and sexy oak spices on the nose. Sweet and smooth if a bit youthfully closed today, showing very good but not outstanding complexity. But this moderately fleshy 2003 comes across as suave, with its rich...

95 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Moving to the Bordeaux releases, the 2015 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is 100% Cabernet that spent 20 months in 80% new French oak. Deep purple color and loaded with textbook Howell Mountain blue fruits, graphite, and crushed rock, it’s full-bodied, impeccably balanced, and has fine, polished tannin. It’s a complex, complete Cabernet Sauvignon to drink over the coming 20 years or so." (12/2017) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon gives up notions of cassis, blackberries,...

Wine & Spirits: "Seattle’s Westland Distillery may be the country’s foremost producer of American single-malt whiskey, especially considering its most recent releases. The Peated blends a heavily peated spirit with a mash of fruity, grainy Washington-grown pale malt to give a whiskey with the smoky snarl of peat that’s elegantly tucked into a smooth, harmonious drink. (JM)" (11/2015) Wine Enthusiast: "The peated version of Westland’s Seattle-born single malt is modestly smoky on the nose but more intensely smoky on the palate, underpinned by vanilla an...

95 points Vinous: "From a 45-year-old single cask selected from Fin Bois producer Rémi Landier. Amber, with aromas of candied orange, orange blossom and toffee. In the mouth, it’s rich, fruity and spicy, offering notes of marmalade, pear and cardamom, and an attractive cigar box finish. A muscular, rustic but elegant Cognac. (47.8% abv) (JW)" (09/2019) K&L Notes: The Landier family has been producing Cognac in Fins Bois since 1890. Five generations of knowledge and commitment to the land have provided them with some excellent old stocks and while their...

Winemaker's Notes: "This is my 4th release of one of my favorite wines to make, and this one is as good if not better than all of my previous releases. This wine is a blend of 40% Cinsault, 40% Grenache and 20% Carignane. Each component was brought in separately, aggressively foot stomped, fermented, then pressed off and combined into one stainless tank for aging for about 3 months. Yep, it saw no oak whatsoever. The subsequent wine is bright and fresh and ‘crushable’ either on its own or with a variety of foods - meat and cheese platters, salads, even a...

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Smooth in cherry cola and vanilla, this wine has a spicy backbone that gives it balance and complexity, a crunchiness of red fruit and texture that intrigues. (VB)" (10/2018)

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Chardonnay comes across more like another style of French wine, a Chassagne Montrachet, possibly a premier cru. Slightly more dramatic fruit is obvious, and the wine has good acidity, beautiful purity, less minerality but more white peach, apple blossom and honeysuckle notes. This medium to full-bodied wine is just a beauty. Drink it over the next 3-5 years. (RP)" (12/2016) K&L Notes: Winemaker's notes: "Lively, with bright citrus tones, honeycomb and quince. Saline and minerality are the backbone of o...

90 points Wine Enthusiast: "This white will appeal greatly to those who prefer stainless-steel treatment, with its tangle of sour apple, sharp acidity and full but not heavy texture. It gets better in the glass, softening that sharpness and tang, opening up to elements of melon and lime. (VB)" (09/2016) Vinous: "The 2014 Chardonnay Unoaked is laced with the essence of lemon oil, white flowers and mint. Bright, perfumed and crisp, the 2014 is an excellent choice for drinking over the next handful of years. Although there is no oak, the Chardonnay offers...

According to winemaker Theo Coles: "It all began in 2002 when I stumbled across an etching of a large gnarly looking ram standing in a field during my travels. He was defiant, a little sauvage, had an old world charm and was very New Zealand. I bought him, had him framed and hung him up in my lounge. 10 years later I happened across Gareth Renowden, the owner of the Limestone Hills vineyard in the Waipara Gorge. Along with a truffiere he had 1000 Pinot Noir vines planted on beautiful active limestone soil. He wanted help to make some wine, after a walk ...

Whisky Advocate: "Expressively aromatic, with orange, chai spices, incense, spearmint, and Juicy Fruit gum, buttressed by earthy moss and cedar. Equally vivid flavors of dry oak, pepper, cinnamon Red Hots, dried orange peel, orange pekoe tea, and chili-chocolate, but it loses steam on the finish. Water tames some of the brasher qualities without dampening the liveliness. (SSB, Spring 2019)" K&L Notes: The newest release from that special distillery up on Old Potrero hill. This is blended American whiskey, but it stands out from the category due to the i...

90 points Vinous: "The 2016 Sauvignon Blanc McGinley Vineyard is quite soft in this vintage, with a lovely interplay between varietal fruit character and the soft curves that make the wine such a delight to taste now. Candied lemon, orchard fruit, white flower, chamomile and almond all grace a very pretty and expressive wine that emphasizes fruit over the green/grassy notes that are typical of many Sauvignon Blancs. (AG)" (09/2018)

Whisky Advocate: "The original Maker’s Mark, tried and true, and the same since the 1950s. The nose is consistent with a flare on the floral, toffee and caramel, roasted almonds, and loads of vanilla. Just when you think you’ve tasted this a million times, it offers candied fruit and pie crust with the final touches of praline and a hint of pecan shell. (FM, Spring 2016)" K&L Notes: Kentucky's most popular wheated bourbon that isn't called "Pappy," Maker's Mark has long been famous for using winter wheat as the flavor grain (along with the majority of c...

Walt Wines is the Sonoma County-based, but West Coast ranging, Pinot-centric wing of Napa Valley's Hall Winery. Now, Walt is named for F=former United States ambassador to Austria Kathyrn Walt Hall's parents, and the brand focuses on Pinot Noir from chocie vineyards from the Central Coast of California on up to Oregon's Willamette Valley. 2012 Turley "Kirschenmann Vineyard" Lodi Zinfandel (Previously $55) (Previously $55)
Back In Stock!
93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Highly complex aromas of red berries, cherry, lavender and spices. Broad and creamy but nicely delineated, with vibrant fruit flavors accented by pepper and flowers. Finishes long and classy (especially for Lodi!), with refined tannins. Really well-judged extraction here. An outstanding addition to the Turley line-up. 92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The Anderson Valley release is the 2016 Pinot Noir The Corner's, which has 20% stems and spent 10 months in 45% new French oak. It offers a savory, complex style in its dried red fruits, spice, leather, and underbrush aromas and flavors. Silky, polished and elegant on the palate, with ultra-fine tannin, drink it over the coming 7-8 years. " (06/2018) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Medium ruby-purple colored, the 2016 Pinot Noir The Corner’s springs from the glass with exuberant black cherry, black berries and wild blu...

93 points Vinous: "(12.6% alcohol): Opaque ruby. Sexy, floral-accented aromas of red and dark berries, star anise and black pepper. Lively, incisive black raspberry and violet pastille flavors are lifted by zesty minerality and show no excess weight. Acts a lot like a high-class Cote-Rotie. Finishes bright and nervy, with youthful tannic grip, excellent persistence and lingering florality. (JR)" (11/2013)

2015 Turley "Mead Ranch" Atlas Peak Zinfandel (Previously $65) (Previously $65)
Back In Stock!
88-91 points Vinous: "The 2015 Zinfandel Mead Ranch from a site on Atlas Peak, is a powerful, savory wine. Dried cherry, cherry pit, herbs and white pepper are some of the nuances that give the wine its distinctive personality. The Mead Ranch is not as flashy as most of the other Zinfandels in the range. Today, the fruit is a bit muted and in the background. It will be interesting to see where this goes." (12/2016)

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There was uneven ripeness in the grapes for the 2017 Laventura Viura, because some bunches were from the second flowering after the frost and didn't ripen the same as the grapes that survived the frost. There was not enough juice to fill the 2,500-liter oak vat, so it had to be fermented in a concrete egg and one 500-liter oak barrel. After the frost, the year was warm and dry, and the wine is not as expressive as the 2016 I tasted next to it. The palate is soft, and there is less freshness and vibrancy than in 2...

97 points James Suckling: "So rich and powerful with so much dried apricots and citrus aromas and flavors. Caramel and toffee. Full and very sweet. Amazing." (10/2016) 92-95 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium yellow-gold. Reticent but pure aromas of fruit salad, spices and vanilla, lifted by floral and mineral nuances. Wonderfully honeyed, fat fruit flavors are complemented by cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. The sexy oak treatment gives lift to the wine. A bit youthfully aggressive but very long on the back end, showing vanillin oak...

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "Silky and downright succulent, this Scotch is made with two types of oak casks—as the DoubleWood name suggests—but it’s really all about the influence of the ex-Sherry cask. Aromas suggest golden raisins and dried apricots. The silky palate starts out moderately smoky, but glides into a richer, honeyed, nutty profile that finishes with cocoa and clove accents. (KN)" (12/2015) Whisky Advocate: "This ever-popular expression of Balvenie is matured for roughly 12 years in ex-bourbon casks and finished for 9 months in Spanish oak...
