91 points Decanter: "With input from an Italian consultant winemaker, Bodega Renacer has produced a beautiful Malbec here. Succulent, ripe dark fruit comes to the fore, with fresh tobacco notes behind the plum, damson and blackcurrant flavours. Spicy on the long finish. 98 points James Suckling: "This is a phenomenal malbec with intense blue fruits such as blueberries and blackberries. Black truffle, too. Full-bodied, bright and juicy with fantastic power and richness. Yet the acidity just keeps going. Volcanic salt and white peppers. A thoroughly breathtaking wine. Try after 2020." It was picked early, as some peaks of extreme heat made the grapes ripen early on while keeping the acidity. It fermented in barrel and didn't go through malolactic, reaching some 13% alcohol. The élevage was 11 months in barrique, in Damy barrels (some new and some used) that they took from Domaine Roulot in Burgundy. This...
