The special release Glenlivet 12 Year Old First Fill is now available at the same price as the regular 12 year release from Glenlivet - a world standard in fine Single Malt. These two whiskies however are world's apart. The First Fill bottling blows the standnard 12 year issue out of the water. It's matured exclusively in first fill American oak barrels lending a much richer and more intense barrel profile when compared to flagship brother. The extra punch of vanilla, caramel and spice also serves to bring out more of the beautiful stone fruits and honey...

Whisky Advocate: "The only survivor from Old Pulteney’s core range shake-up of 2018, this has been matured in first and second-fill bourbon casks. The nose is delicate, with almonds, honey, and floral notes. Malt and toffee on the palate, with spicy oak and a hint of brine. The medium-length finish is nutty, with wood spices. (GS, Winter 2018)" K&L Notes: The Old Pulteney distillery is the most northerly distillery on the Scottish mainland, situated in the town of Wick. Your nose and palate discern complex combinations, robust yet delicate with a hint o...

The Tweeddale brand was created by the brothers John and Andrew Davidson in the mid-1800s. In 1895, Richard Day was hired as an office boy and began to learn the art of blending. Mr. Day took over the business in 1923 and continued to buy and blend whiskies until World War II caused a decline in market viability. Day sold his stocks and retired. In 2010, Alasdair Day inherited his great-grandfather's cellar book and the quest to recreate the Tweeddale whisky was born. The peated Grain of Truth is one of the most unusual and exciting examples on the marke...

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Lush and rich, this honeyed whisky is loaded with dense notes of creamy custard and tropical fruit, finishing with a flourish of baking spice. *Best Buy* (KN)" (12/2013) Whisky Advocate: "The world’s best-selling single malt. Isn’t that sufficient to give this dram some respect? It might be me, but it strikes me that ’Fiddich has more heft to it these days, with a sherried element giving the pear, apple, and light cereal of the distillery character a sweet, plump, sultana underpinning. This then adds chewiness to the palate,...
92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Look for a honey hue and super-fresh, bright orchard fruit aromas. The drying palate shows oak and vanilla, plus darker hints of espresso and clove. The finish is lifted by a pleasing hint of lemon cream pie. Sip or mix. *Best Buy* (KN)" (12/2019) Whisky Advocate: "As with the ‘Fiddich (reviewed in this issue), here’s a malt where an improved wood policy has brought a dram to life and added complexity. The Glenlivet has always been about lightness, but the trick is to have sufficient solid base to allow its flower to blossom...

92 points Whisky Advocate: "This expression was distilled from malt peated to 12 to 14 ppm, and aged for 9 years in 80% bourbon and 20% sherry casks before a final year in more sherry casks. Sweet smoke on the early nose, with malt, vanilla, quite dry sherry, apple, and toffee. Smoky barley, vanilla, subtle sherry, and light honey on the palate. Peaches, ginger, and woodsmoke on the medium-length finish. Very accomplished. *Editors' Choice* (GS, Summer 2020)" (06/2020) 91 points Wine Enthusiast: "This copper-hued whiskey offers concentrated caramel, pe...
