2012 Alexandre Le Brun "Cuvée Revelation" Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
This all Meunier, single vineyard, barrel fermented wonder was the best Champagne I tasted on my spring trip. And yes--that includes all of the $1,000-plus canons that we tasted! Don't wait. It will disappear. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne buyer)

2008 Dom Pérignon Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
98 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2008 Dom Pérignon is the first time the estate has released a wine out of order (the 2009 was released before the 2008) but the estate loved the wine so much they felt it warranted additional aging. This is a rich, powerful wine that still shows incredible purity and elegance, with a stacked, concentrated feel on the palate. It’s rare to find such a mix of ripe, pure, concentrated fruit paired with this level of purity, focus, and precision. This is a legendary Dom that surpasses all the great vintages of Dom I have experience...

2009 Alexandre Le Brun "Cuvée Dilection" Brut Rosé Champagne (Previously $80) (Previously $80)
Top Pick!
Alexandre Le Brun is a young winemaker from Monthelon in the Ardenne (Marne) region of Champagne. He is a ninth-generation winemaker. His family established themselves in Champagne in 1750, and their cellars were built in 1822. The delectable Dilection is based on the incredible 2009 vintage with 85% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Meunier. Only French oak is used and the vineyard where the grapes are sourced was planted in 1902. It is rich, but classically dry with dark cherry and strawberry fruit on the finish, which lingers.

2014 Louise Brison Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
This Champagne was made in the most expensive way possible. The entire Brison estate is organic, and the wine is entirely barrel fermented. No detail is forgotten in making the vintage wines here, as the owner, Delphine Brulez, has a diploma of oenology. Only because of a direct buy are we able to offer a Champagne like this at such a fair price! For those of you who have Brison vintage in the past, we think this is the best one they have ever made…Even better than the 2008!

2008 Le Brun de Neuville "Grand Vintage" Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
94 points Wine Enthusiast: "Almost entirely Chardonnay, with just a whisper of Pinot Noir, this is a dry Champagne. It is crisp, lively, steely and with great intensity. The apple and lemon flavors are just a part of this impressive wine that could age longer. Drink from 2019. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (12/2017) 91 points Wine Spectator: "A firm version, with a light and lacy mousse carrying pretty hints of ripe black cherry, apple blossom, chalk and biscuit. Clean-cut on the moderate finish. (AN, Web-2017)" K&L Notes: This classic Sézanne Champagne is...

2012 Fallet-Dart Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
The Fallet family traces its wine growing history back to 1610. Following the marriage of Geneviève Dart and Gaston Fallet in 1953, the Fallet-Dart brand was founded in 1970. The wine is composed of 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir that is fermented in a mix of oak barrels and stainless steel tanks. It is then aged for at least seven years on the lees.

2015 Plateau des Chenes Lirac Blanc
Top Pick!
A blend of Grenache Blanc, Clairette, and Roussanne, this wine is distinctly floral and lush, exemplifying the quality that this producer brings to every wine in their line-up.

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The sparkling Clàssic Penedès 2015 Refugi, a brut nature that is completely dry, is the first wine they produced after five generations growing grapes in a haven (refugi in Catalan) in the middle of their vineyards. It's mostly Xarello with 10% Chardonnay, part fermented in new 500-liter French oak barrels and then refermented in bottle, where it was kept with the lees for a minimum of 20 months. It has a nice balance between fruit and more developed aromas and flavors of spice and yeast, and it has a balanced, t...

Wine Spectator: "Soft and round, with vanilla custard, grapefruit and ginger flavors. Has good length and balance overall, picking up more of a citrus edge on the finish. (BS)" (12/2006)

2015 Can Mayol Loxarel "Reserva Familiar" Brut Nature Classic Penedes
Top Pick!
Wine Enthusiast: "Dusty yeasty aromas are natural and dry, fitting for brut nature. A citric palate is cleansing after initially feeling sharp, while this tastes of crisp citrus fruits and green apple. A stony finish is focused and direct. (MS)" (08/2019) K&L Notes: Can Mayol, which bottles under the trademarked name "Loxarel," is a winery that has farmed organically for 15 years. The Mitjan family, owners of Can Mayol, also employ some biodynamic treatments. They keep animals, including chickens, a horse, and a donkey named Garnatxa. While the focus i...

This small, all estate grown Champagne is sourced from only one vineyard, the Clos Boursault, an ancient walled vineyard just west of Epernay on the Marne. They make only a tiny amount of vintage at Le Gallais, and we only received 36 bottles of this wine. It is a blend of half each Pinot Noir and Meunier from old vines on the property dosed at just 4 grams per liter. It doesn't need more than that, as this is a real 2009, with ripe power to spare. If you like powerful Champagne, this clean machine is loaded with structure. The texture is supple, the bea...

2012 Bollinger "Grande Année" Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Disgorged in July 2019, Bollinger's 2012 Brut La Grande Année is showing well, offering up an incipiently complex bouquet of crisp yellow orchard fruit, fresh peach, orange oil, toasted walnuts and dried apricot that's still quite reserved with less than a year on cork. Full-bodied, deep and muscular, the 2012 is blockier and broader-shouldered than its 2008 predecessor, with a weightier and even more concentrated palate built around a bright spine of acidity, concluding with a chalky finish that carries apprecia...

This vintage Champagne is composed of 70% Meunier 20% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay that are selected out from the Trudon estate by blind tasting. Jerome Trudon considers this a snap shot of the excellent 2012 harvest. We only recieved five cases of this subtly nutty, concentrated vintage Champagne!

2008 Laurent-Perrier Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
96 points Wine Enthusiast: "While still young, this Champagne has all the makings of greatness. Produced from grand cru vineyards, it already balances ripe white fruits with a firm structure that will age well. It’s relatively dry and has plenty of acidity, which will also aid in the longevity.. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (12/2019) K&L Notes: This all Grand Cru blend, which is composed of 50% each Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, is the best I have ever tasted from Laurent-Perrier, and should go the distance if you decide to cellar it. Don't miss this fantasti...

If you have enjoyed the wines of Lallement, Bollinger and Krug in the past, we think you will very much enjoy Michel Arnould. They are bold, masculine Champagnes with plenty of toasty flavor. This is a blend of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay, entirely from estate vineyards in the Grand Cru of Verzenay. Verzenay is the northernmost of all the Grand Crus in this northernmost of French wine regions. The whole village faces north, the wrong way, away from the sun, and yet miraculously ripens Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Some say it's because of a meteor tha...

91 points James Suckling: "A deep wine and very dry with sliced green apple and lemon rind. Some yeast. Full body, tight and dense. Hints of cooked apple. A bright and very drinkable Champagne." (03/2018) K&L Notes: Four bottles in one! Perfect for a party. The blend for the vintage 2008 is 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir with aging of 84 months at the minimum. It is certainly one of the most exciting big bottles of vintage Champagne in the store, from a vintage that many in the region consider the best in a generation. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne bu...

93 points James Suckling: "This wine is so unique. A rich and vivid white with sliced apple, pear and dried pineapple character. Hints of salt. Full body, very flavorful. Lovely finish. " (07/2017) K&L Notes: To honor the 100th anniversary of this well known Rioja white, Cune decided to hit their cellars and uncork a number of vintages to see how they had aged. It turns out that the bottlings from the late 1950's to the early 1970's had aged fantastically, and the person who had made these landmark wines was none other than our friend, the legendary Ez...

93 points Vinous: "Brilliant straw-yellow. Lemon zest, quinine, pungent flowers and ginger on the incisive, mineral-accented nose. Chewy in texture, sharply focused and dry, showing impressive clarity to its sappy pear, Meyer lemon and bitter quinine flavors, which deepen slowly on the back half. Finishes impressively long, mineral and energetic, leaving subtle herb and floral notes behind. (JR)" (04/2019) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The smoky 2015 De la Finca, which has the subtitle "Vinya dels Fòssils" on the label, was inspired by the ...

2008 Louis Roederer "Cristal" Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2008 Cristal is a perfect wine, and Champagne simple does not get any better. This incredible wine offers a beautiful perfume of clean, crisp fruits, layers of complexity in its toasted spice and white flowers, and an utterly seamless, yet powerful style on the palate. This is a rich, decadent expression of Cristal yet it’s still crystalline and elegant, with no sensation of weight, and it just glides over the palate. Haut Couture at its finest and this majestic, profound, legendary Cristal can be drunk anytime over the comin...

Honorío Rubio is a Riojano white wine specialist. In a land best known for its incredibly age-worthy reds, among many die-hards out there it is undoubtedly the traditional whites which represent Rioja's finest and most original wines. These days, outside of Lopez de Heredia (whose whites are increasingly rare in the market) and the odd older bottles of Ygay Blanco, traditional white Rioja is tough to find. That's why we are so excited to be selling the wines of our newest DI producer, Honorío Rubio. Based in the high altitude Rioja Alta village of Cordov...

94 points James Suckling: "This has seen more than six years of ageing in the cellar and has attractive concentration and nicely played complexity. The nose is as fresh as you'd expect from Lanson with all yellow grapefruit and lemon but some pastry too. The palate, meanwhile, has a refreshing sweep of acid-driven, lemon fruit and is super pure, fresh and long. A great-value wine here. " (10/2016) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "In all probability the finest rendition of this cuvée since 1996, Lanson's 2008 Brut Vintage Gold Label is an impre...

A 50/50 blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from 13 hectares of sustainably farmed vineyards. From the winery: "Very complex with a lot of aromas of ripe, fleshy fruits like apricot. You will appreciate its brioche and its subtle woody flavors. Fine expression and subtly nuanced."

Kabaj (Ka-bye) have farmed their vineyards for many generations. When Katja Kabaj met French oenologist Jean-Michel Morel after his stint at an Italian winery, they fell in love and eventually married. Jean-Michel brought some of those Italian and French sensibilities to the winery along with his fondness for working with amphorae. Those who have tasted Kabaj whites know that these wine range from light to full skin contact for the whites and the Rebula is probably one of their most noteworthy. It is aged for 30 days on the skin and then for about a year...

In 1963, a group of 26 growers led by André Vandier and the heiress of the Château de Bethon, Madame de Reviers, founded La Crayère in the small village of Bethon in the Marne. That initial group has grown to include 170 growers who today comprise Le Brun de Neuville.

98 points Vinous: "The 2002 Dom Pérignon is unforgettable. Rich, sumptuous and flamboyant to the core, the 2002 captures all of the radiance of a year in which ripeness in the Chardonnays was pushed to the edge. The 2002 is oily and viscous on the palate, with tremendous textural resonance in all of its dimensions. Tropical fruit, pastry and exotic floral notes all build as the 2002 opens up with air. I can still remember the first time I tasted the 2002, here in the Hautvillers cloister, with former Chef de Caves Richard Geoffroy. It was thrilling back ...

2006 Billecart-Salmon "Cuvée Nicolas François Billecart" Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Created in 1964 as a tribute to the house’s founder, the youngest release is the 2006 Millésime Brut Cuvée Nicolas François, a blend of 60% Pinot Noir from premier and grand crus from the Montagne de Reims and the Grande Vallée de la Marne and 40% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs. Almost entirely fermented in stainless steel (only 5% was vinified in oak barrels) and aged for 11 years on the lees, this is a beautifully ripe and rich yet pure champagne with ripe fruit flavors intermixed with chalky notes and bri...

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Ribeiras de Armea is a blend of 60% Branco Lexítimo (Albarín Blanco) and 20% each of Agudelo (Chenin Blanc) and Godello from Vino de la Tierra Betanzos, an IGP of Galicia. The vines range between ten and 30 years of age and are planted on clay and schist soils. Two-thirds of the volume is fermented in stainless steel and the rest in used 500-liter barrels, all with indigenous yeasts. The wine is kept in each of the fermentation vessels for nine months, after which it is blended and bottled. Branco Lexíti...

96 points James Suckling: "Just over two-thirds Pinot Noir (Verzenay) and the balance southeast-facing Chardonnay from Chouilly. This has 30% of oak fermentation which has compressed the wine, lending it an air of extreme concentration. The nose is gently spicy, offering peaches and cherries as well as neat autolysis edge. The palate has a powerful, long and assertive feel, with peach and lemon pith, chalky minerals, and some grapefruit. A powerful vintage for Roederer." (01/2018) 95 points Wine Enthusiast: "This beautiful wine, with its poise, eleganc...

93 points Vinous: "Light shimmering yellow. Aromas of Meyer lemon and pear take on subtle chamomile, ginger and floral nuances as the wine unfolds. Juicy and focused on the palate, offering intense, spice-laced citrus and orchard fruit and honeysuckle flavors and a hint of salinity that builds on the back half. At once concentrated and lithe, delivering firm closing cut, resonating floral and spice notes and impressive persistence. This exceptional bubbly wine spent four years on its lees and got 12 g/l of dosage, but it comes off dry. (JR)" (11/2019) ...

2008 Billecart-Salmon Extra Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
97 points Decanter: "A blend of 65% Pinot Noir consisting of Premier and Grand Crus from the Montagne de Reims and the Vallee de la Marne and 35% Chardonnay from the Cote des Blancs. Significantly, this has nine years ageing on its lees (longer than some Prestige Cuvees), the 2008 was first released onto the global market back in March 2019. With an Extra Brut dosage of 4g/l, this is a highly expressive, confident and convincing interpretation of the vintage. Right now, it is youthfully sharp and focused with fine salinity, depth, acidity and balance, an...

1996 Dom Pérignon Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The brilliant 1996 Dom Perignon, which has largely disappeared from the marketplace, may be the finest young example of DP I have ever tasted. Notes of crushed rocks, honeysuckle, lemon oil, orange marmalade, and white pear provide a stunning aromatic display as well as palate impression. Great acidity and huge flavor intensity backed up by vibrant acidity make this an exquisite Champagne. It should drink well for 20-25 years, possibly longer. Readers should remember that the 1971 Dom Perignon Rose is still drink...

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "This sparkling blend of 58% Pinot Noir and 42% Chardonnay is gorgeous in salmon color, with lithe bright flavors of sea spray, lemon peel and wet stone. Structured and gracefully high toned, it develops richer elements of peach and brioche on the cohesive, complex and lengthy finish. *Editors' Choice* (VB)" (11/2019)

Layers of cooked apples and light lemon rind. Brioche and light pie-crust in the aftertaste. Fresh and relativel...

Wine Enthusiast: "Aromas of scorched earth, ripe yellow apple and a whiff of toasted nut lead the nose. On the medium-bodied palate, fresh acidity offsets dried yellow peach, a hint of citrus zest and bitter almond. (KO)" (12/2018)

2012 Louis Roederer "Cristal" Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
98 points James Suckling: "Such attractive, fresh, floral aromas here with fine bread, hints of white almonds and a lemon edge. White cherries and strong, chalky minerals, too. The palate has a very composed feel. Seamless and quite silky texture with effortless length and flow. Very fluid and composed. Very late, warming almond flavors. This is very long and smooth with a velvety finish. Super long pinot weight. Resolved and drinkable, but will age so well." (07/2019) 98 points Vinous: "The 2012 Cristal is another absolutely stellar wine this flight o...

2002 Louis Roederer "Cristal" Brut Champagne Late Release (Direct from Roederer 2019)
Top Pick!
98 points James Suckling: " A re-release of the original 2010 disgorgement. Super fine, super fresh and super savory aromas of chalky stones with hints of flowers, white almonds, lemon peel and grapefruit. The palate has intense, mouth-filling, lemon-curd flavor. Very powerful, very concentrated and very expressive. Smooth finish that’s full of life, leaving a bright, white cherry note. " (07/2019) 98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Roederer's 2002 Cristal is a fabulous wine! Originally released in 2009, it was re-released in March this year—and...

From the importer: "The name of the winery is Mata I Coloma. The name of the winemaker is Pere Mata. The wines have individual names as well, but they all say ‘Pere Mata’ on the label, which is appropriate, as they are truly a reflection of one man’s passion. Pere farms 5 hectares in the town of Sant Sadurní d’Anoia in the heart of the Penedès, Catalunya. The work is all organic and by hand. Pere only uses the classic grape varieties of Xarello, Macabeu and Parellada, as he feels that these are the grapes most suited to the task of speaking the terroir ...

96 points Vinous: "Tasted from magnum, the 2004 Grande Cuvée Rosé Alexandra, Laurent-Perrier’s flagship Rosé is a blend of 80% Pinot Noir (on the skins) and 20% Chardonnay vinified together that has only been bottled seven times since 1982. From the very first taste, the 2004 is utterly spectacular. Rich, ample and vertical in feel, the 2004 is dazzling. Dried rose petal, star anise, tobacco, dried flowers, red berry fruit and earthy notes all grace this utterly exquisite Champagne. As good as the 2004 is today – and it is fabulous – it will be even bett...

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "Sensuous aromas of honeycomb, canned peache and apricot drives the nose. It's full bodied, with flavors of honey and grilled pineapple, and balanced by bright acidity. (JJ)" (12/2014) 94 points Wine Spectator: "More than a decade old, this mature Tokaji evokes apple tart, quince paste, brown spices and clove, with a hint of orange peel. Elegant and racy, with a long, dried fruit infused aftertaste. (BS)" (11/2014) 94 points Wine & Spirits: "Creamy and succulent, this 2002 from AXA Millésime’s Hungarian estate shows Tokaji ...

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "#5 Scheurebe Trockenbeerenauslese Zwischen den Seen displays vividly Scheurebe-typical aromas of sage, peppermint, grapefruit and honey. Startlingly bright and juicy on entry, this builds strength and powers to intense, scintillating flavors of grapefruit, candied citrus rinds, honey and high-toned sweet herbal distillates joined less by the typical cassis than by a lovely note of Maine blueberries. The feel is creamy yet at the same time the wine remains invigoratingly sharp. The endlessly reverberating finish p...

100 points Wine & Spirits: "It's hard to imagine how a wine of this power can sustain perfect balance. What is now a more nonchalant intensity in the aroma was, in fact, too much to handle when we tasted this last year, as if the wine had no time for mere humans with their limited sense receptors. If you stop to taste ripe pear, ginger spice, apple blossom and butterscotch the wine leaves you lost in random flavor descriptors as it soars off into a vinous glow that lasts for minutes. This may well be the greatest vintage wine of Henri Krug's career (unle...
