2016 Vitiano (Falesco) Rosso Umbria (Elsewhere $15) (Elsewhere $15)
Top Pick!
91 points James Suckling: "A dense and layered red with lots of dried fruit, spice and dark chocolate character. Full body, rich and flavorful." (03/2018) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Vitiano Rosso offers enormous value. In fact, I cannot for the life of me think of another red wine from Italy that offers this quality at this super low price. This Umbrian red is equal parts Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese. Winemaking is very simple, concluding with an easy three months in barrique. The bouquet is bright, easy and fresh with dark c...

92 points James Suckling: "Deep and vibrant dark-berry aromas with fresh flowers and hot stones, following through to a full body, chewy and dusty tannins and a long, flavorful finish with chocolate undertones to it all. Drink in 2020, but already beautiful." (07/2018) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 65% Syrah, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Montepulciano, the 2016 A.D. 1212 (with a really cool hand design on the front label) is a versatile and accessible red that would pair with meat lasagna or meatloaf. The bouquet is infused wit...

92 points James Suckling: "Ripe plums, dried lavender, basil, tar, licorice and hot stones show here on the nose. Medium to full body, fresh acidity, round yet tight tannins and a fruity finish." (10/2017) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I really like the 2015 Montefalco Rosso and am happy to recommend this attractive value wine. It shows dark fruit and spice with a supple and round style. There is not too much dimension here, but the wine is upfront and immediate instead. I make roasted chicken according to an old family recipe with roasted ...

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Scacciadiavoli 2013 Montefalco Sagrantino (with 35,000 bottles made) opens to a dark garnet color with saturated ruby highlights. The bouquet comes forward with intensity, ushering forth purple and black fruit with lots of tangy spice spanning from clove and cinnamon to cardamom and saffron. The wine is fermented in cone-shaped casks and aged in oak botte for two years. The tannins leave their mark, and this cool-vintage Sagrantino is best served with braised or grilled meats as a result. (ML)" (10/2019) 90...

Bid on this 3-magnum lot of 2005 Lamborghini "Campoleone" Umbria (1.5L) (OWC - 92VN, 90WS) in original wood. Vinous: "The estate's top bottling, the 2005 Campoleone, is a cuvée of equal parts Sangiovese and Merlot that spent 12 months in French oak. A full-bodied, racy red, the wine possesses compelling layers of dark cherries, licorice, mint, tobacco, sweet herbs and French oak in an elegant, beautifully balanced style. Today the wine comes across as quite primary, but it should develop quite nicely with time in the bottle. (AG)" (04/2009)
Starting Bid: $150.00

Bid on this 3-magnum lot of 2006 Lamborghini "Campoleone" Umbria (1.5L) (OWC - 90WS) in original wood. Wine Spectator: "Displays blackberry jam on the nose, with prune and dried flowers. Full and silky, with blueberry flavors, firm tannins and bright acidity. A subtle red, with pretty fruit and structure and a fruity finish. (JS)" (11/2009)
Starting Bid: $150.00

Bid on this 3-magnum lot of 2011 Lamborghini "Campoleone" Umbria (1.5L) (OWC - 93JS) in original wood. James Suckling: "Very pretty fruit to this medium- to full-bodied wine, with shaved chocolate and hazelnuts. It's full-bodied, soft and dusty-textured, with a long, flavorful finish. Lovely drinkability to this wine." (03/2015)
Starting Bid: $150.00

Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2011 Còlpetrone Sagrantino di Montefalco (90WS).
