Singani "63" Bolivian Muscat Brandy (750ml)

Just when you think you've tasted every type of booze known to man, you discover that there are yet more regionally specific spirits being distilled in places you've never considered. Take Bolivia, for example. In Bolivia they make a pisco-like spirit called Singani, distilled from Muscat of Alexandria grapes grown high in the Andes mountains. Seeing that Muscat is an aromatic varietal, known for its fruity and floral character, the Singani spirit distilled from it takes on many of the perfumes found in the expressive grape. The result is a clean and vib ...

Ming River Sichuan Baijiu 750ml

The incredible history of Chinese of fermenting Sorghum and other grains for alcohol production is thousands of years old. There's evidence that those grains were being distilled as early as 800 BC. Modern Baijiu production begins in earnest around the 13th century. The biggest difference between grain alcohol production in China and Europe in terms of technology has to do with the use of solid state fermentation. Instead of using enzymes from malting grain, the Chinese developed a system of bacteria fermentation (much like Koji in Sake production), but ...

Absinthia Absinthe Blanche (375ml)

From the producer: "Once distilled, absinthe is a gorgeous, brilliant clear. Because of the anise in absinthe, it turns a milky white with a slight blue haze when when water is added. This is called the louche. Blanche is French for white, thought Absinthe is more widely known as a verte, or green, spirit. Traditional absinthes obtain their green color strictly from the chlorophyll of whole herbs, which is extracted from the plants. After distilling, the absinthe that is produced is clear, and that is the Blanche that we bottle. We then take that Blanche ...

Amaro Angeleno (750ml)

Amaro Angeleno is LA's answer to the exploding Amaro scene. The Italian culture of drinking bitter liqueurs is centuries old. Since at least the early 1700s, distillers across the Apennine peninsula have carefully guarded their secret recipes, usually traced back to some famous monastery, often promising good health, strong loins, or long life. Using both local and exotic ingredients they created something truly unique to that place. In that image, Amaro Angeleno was created to be a true product of terroir, inspired by those that came before, but distinc ...
