2012 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (100RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Chardonnay Marcassin Vineyard, which will probably be released in a few months, displays great minerality, notes of honeysuckle, orange marmalade, poached pear, and white flowers as well as a touch of quince. A wine of great intensity, yet incredibly ethereal elegance, this light greenish gold-colored wine is full-bodied, stunningly rich, and altogether remarkable. When you consider that they use 100% new French oak and 100% heavy toast for both their Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs, it is remarkable how little oak appears in these wines. This wine should age well for 10-15 years, as most of the Marcassin Estate Chardonnays have done to date. (RP)" (03/2016)

2009 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 98WE, 96WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon (98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Merlot) is a ripe, flamboyant and brilliantly proportioned effort that oozes kirsch, licorice, lead pencil shavings and dried spice on the nose. Showing the perfume and headiness of the vintage, it nevertheless stays vibrant and lively on the palate while delivering layers of fruit and texture. While formidably structured and tannic, it can be enjoyed now due to the overall tannin quality and purity of fruit. It will evolve and drink well for over two decades. (JD)" (06/2013)

2010 Latour, Pauillac (OWC)
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Latour, Pauillac (OWC - 100JS, 100RP, 99WE, 99WS, 98VN) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the perfect wines of the vintage, Frederic Engerer challenged me when I tasted the 2010 Latour at the estate, asking, 'If you rate the 2009 one hundred, then how can this not be higher?' Well, the scoring system stops at 100, (and has for 34 years,) and will continue for as long as I continue to write about wine. Nevertheless, this blend of 90.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9.5% Merlot, and .5% Petit Verdot hit 14.4% natural alcohol and represents a tiny 36% of their entire production. The pH is about 3.6, which is normal compared to the 3.8 pH of the 2009, that wine being slightly lower in alcohol, hence the combination that makes it more flamboyant and accessible. The 2010 is a liquid skyscraper in the mouth, building layers upon layers of extravagant, if not over-the-top richness with its hints of subtle charcoal, truffle, blackberry, cassis, espr

2012 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 98JS, 98WE, 97CG, 96WS, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Shafer’s flagship wine, and one of the world’s greatest Cabernet Sauvignons, is the Hillside Select, which comes from the rocky, volcanic soils on hillsides above the winery. Vineyard production is small, and the wine an incredible example of Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged in 100% new oak for 32 months and bottled unfiltered, this can generally be expected to be one of the top dozen or so Cabernet Sauvignons in virtually any vintage in Napa, and certainly possesses 25 to possibly 50 years of aging potential. The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select is a perfect wine. It elicits more than a few 'wows' when you smell the incredible notes of charcoal, graphite and subtle toast, buttressed and dominated by blackcurrant, blackberry and blueberry fruit. The purity of these fruits, the multidimensional mouthfeel, the seamless inte

Bid on this bottle of 2014 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Sonoma/Napa Counties Cabernet Sauvignon (96JD, 96VN, 95RP, 91WS). Vinous: "The highlight in this range, the 2014 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is rich, powerful and explosive, with fabulous energy to back up its huge fruit. This is another wine that needs time to fully come together, but it is true of all the top Pride wines. I wouldn't think of opening a bottle anytime soon. A rush of black cherry, plum and mocha adds a closing flourish of intensity in this superb Cabernet Sauvignon from Pride. (AG)" (03/2018)

1983 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1983 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (91JG, 90WS). John Gilman: "I have had this wine four or five times in the last couple of years, and it has gotten progressively better with each subsequent showing. The bouquet is complex and beginning to show signs of the transparency of maturity, as it offers up notes of dried, dark berries, a touch of chipotle pepper, leather, woodsmoke, heather, game, oak leaves, dried flowers and just a last vestige of the wine’s adolescent horsiness. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and gamy, with a fine core of fruit, lovely soil inflection, tannins that are now falling away nicely, and excellent length and grip on the complex and well-balanced finish. This is resolving very nicely, and is better than I had hoped to imagine in its stormy youth. I would still give it a few more years to completely soften. Drink between 2010-2030. 91+" (12/2008)

2014 Colgin "IX Estate" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC)
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Colgin "IX Estate" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 98JS, 98RP, 97VN) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From their steep hillside vineyards on Pritchard Hill, the 2014 Proprietary Red IX Estate is an old-fashioned Médoc blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, but with some Cabernet Franc (rarely seen in the Médoc these years) as well as Merlot and Petit Verdot. Striking aromatics of violets, forest floor, loamy soil nuances, blueberry, black raspberry and blackberry soar from the glass of this spectacular 2014. The acidity seems reasonable but on the lower side, the texture is magnificent, and the overall purity and equilibrium flawless. This is a wine pushing, even demanding, a three-digit score once again, but I’m holding back – at least for now. This magnificent effort from Colgin should drink beautifully for 25-30 years. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 Clos Solène "L'Imprévu" Santa Maria Valley Pinot Noir (94RP, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 L'Imprévu Pinot Noir--which comes from the Bien Nacido Vineyard--is excellent, offering up complex aromas of wild berries, potpourri, aromatic bark and cracked black pepper. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, velvety and pure, with lots of energy, good concentration and a saline, fragrant finish. Fabre seems to have just as sure a hand with Pinot Noir as he does with Rhône varieties. (WK)" (05/2018)

2013 Abreu "Thorevilos" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Abreu "Thorevilos" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100RP, 100VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Probably one of my favorite vineyards in all of Napa Valley, even though it is not entitled to any particular AVA designation, is the steep hillside vineyard behind the luxury resort of Meadowood in St. Helena called Thorevilos. It is co-owned by David Abreu and Ric Forman. I have now tasted 16 vintages of this wine, and six and possibly seven (the 2015) have merited perfect scores, which is just mind-boggling even to someone who has been doing this for 38+ years. This wine contains a considerable quantity of Cabernet Franc (probably 30% or more, although Abreu and Grimes are never specific) and there may even be a small percentage of Petit Verdot included in the blend. This is always the most floral of the Abreu wines, but it also has what the French call je ne sais quoi, a quality that is hard to pin down. The 2013 defines what Thorevilos is all about, with c

In a vintage that was challenging for many California Chardonnay producers, the Three Sisters and the 2006 Marcassin Estate Chardonnays stand out as candidates for 'wines of the vintage'. Sweet creme de cassis notes intermixed with some white chocolate, cedar wood, fruitcake and spice box are all present in this deep bluish/purple-colored wine, which also has hints of lead pencil shavings and tobacco leaf. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Brut Cristal has put on quite a bit of weight since I first tasted it earlier this year. It is a powerful, structured Cristal layered with considerable fruit. Chardonnay seems to play the leading role in 2004, at least today. Cristal is often accessible young, but that is far from the case here. This is a serious, painfully young Cristal that will require considerable patience. Readers who are willing to spend some time with the wine today will find a super-impressive, complete Cristal. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Monte Bello ,72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot is simply magnificent. Layers of dark red fruit, flowers, spices and graphite are all woven together in this utterly impeccable wine. The 2009 is an especially huge, intense Monte Bello, yet a sexy, silky core of fruit lies within its imposing frame. Everything comes together in this glorious, radiant wine. Last year the 2009 had some pretty stiff competition from the 2010, but today it is simply firing on all cylinders. Eric Baugher describes 2009 as a year with cold weather early on, followed by heat in early June and July. The fruit was brought in on October 12, just before an intense downpour swept through the region. There is a purity and silkiness supported by structure in the 2009 that is impossible not to admire. 2013 The Mascot Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 The Mascot Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend. The grapes for this wine come from younger vines on the Harlan and Bond estates and is spearheaded by Bill Harlan's son, Will. From the producer: "Although I grew up running around the winery, hand-turning de-stemmers, and eating grapes off the vines in our backyard, I never thought I’d discover my own passion in making wine. My family has been in the business longer than I’ve been around, but it was only a handful of years ago that curiosity led me beyond the event horizon of this world. It began with the experience of learning the complexities of blending wine in 2008, and progressed steadily until I found myself working in the cellar, handling barrel fermentation throughout the harvest. Made from the younger vines of Harlan Estate, BOND, and Promontory, The Mascot shares a unique glimpse into the evolution of our winegrowing estates. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another killer effort from Rivers-Marie is the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Lore Vineyard, from a steep and rocky single vineyard in the Vaca foothills of eastern Napa above the Rudd Winery. The wine comes across with fabulous intensity and loads of blackberry, blueberry and cassis fruit, licorice, camphor and incense. This is great stuff, backward, as all of these 2013s tend to be. It’s the smallest of these cuvées, with about 250 cases, or ten barrels produced. This wine is another one to benefit from 4-6 years of cellaring and should keep for three decades or more. Well, Ridge's 2000 Monte Bello is still not ready to drink. Huge, rich and voluptuous, but backed up be serious structure, the 2000 is still a very, very young wine. Readers who own the 2000 should be thrilled. With time in the glass, the 2000 starts to open up a little bit aromatically, but the tannins remain imposing. Hints of tobacco, iron, smoke, savory herbs, leather and licorice all add nuance on the close. This dramatic, brooding Monte Bello will likely drink well for another three decades. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Lokoya Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 99RP, 98JD, 93VN) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From the micro-terroir of the W. S. Its incredibly opaque color is followed by notes of lead pencil shavings, mulberry, blackberry and dark raspberry fruit, some background oak and minerality, and profound richness in a full-bodied, multi-dimensional style. It is gorgeously ripe, and sexy already, with a lush and voluptuous texture. Drink it over the next 25+ years. One of the top-of-the-charts, special, rare superstars of the Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon wine scene is Lokoya. Bid on this 3L-bottle of 2011 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (3L) (96W&S, 94JS, 94VN). Wine & Spirits: "The cool 2011 season turned out a pristine vintage of Monte Bello, made from cabernet (88 percent) grown on a limestone-inflected ridge high above Silicon Valley, blended with some merlot and cabernet franc. The team at Ridge let the fruit recover for two weeks following an early October storm before picking, and were more aggressive in their extraction than normal, drawing as much color and structure as possible from the delicate fruit. The aromas revolve around oak at first—anise, wood smoke, cedar bark and cinnamon—but the wood’s contribution is fine and integrated, shading gradually toward bright fruit as the finish lengthens with floral aromas and the tang of tiny, concentrated black currants. It’s even better with a day of air, as the tannins turn to velvet, allowing red-fruited acidity to take the lead and brighten the wine’s savory, pung

Jeb Dunnuck: "One of the finest Grenaches to ever pass my lips is the 2016 Grenache Dirt Vernacular and it’s 78% Grenache, 11.5% Mourvèdre, 7% Touriga Nacional, and the rest Petite Sirah. Reminding me of an old vine Grenache cuvée from the Maurel brothers in Châteauneuf du Pape, it boasts a huge nose of black raspberries, kirsch liqueur, graphite, ground herbs, and pepper. This is one of those wines that offers incredible intensity and depth, yet still just glides over the palate with no sense of heaviness whatsoever. Full-bodied, rich, layered, and pure, it’s a riveting example of Grenache that could come from nowhere else. Drink it any time over the coming 15+ years." (10/2018)

2008 Francesco Rinaldi & Figli "Le Brunate" Barolo (1.5L)
Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2008 Francesco Rinaldi & Figli "Le Brunate" Barolo (1.5L) (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Barolo Le Brunate is quite a bit richer, deeper and more powerful than the Cannubbio, as one might reasonably expect. Here the fruit boasts tons of pure resonance and stuffing while never losing its essential classicism. Plums, black cherries, leather, tar and licorice meld together, supported by firm yet beautifully integrated tannins. The 2008 Brunate is an explosive wine just waiting to emerge. When it does, it should be striking. Actually, it already is. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2038. (AG)" (10/2012)

2007 Olivier Hillaire "Les Petits Pieds d'Armand" Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Olivier Hillaire "Les Petits Pieds d'Armand" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (97JD, 96RP, 95WS). Jeb Dunnuck: "Even better (at the moment anyways), with an almost Rayas like perfume of kirsch liqueur, melted licorice, roasted garrigue, sweet spice, and hot, rolled stone-like aromas, the absolutely dazzling 2007 Domaine Olivier Hillaire Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Petits Pieds d'Armand is a full-bodied, voluptuously textured, and no holds barred thrill ride of Grenache that could come from nowhere else! A blend of 100%, mostly tank aged Grenache that comes all from La Crau and vines planted in 1899, this sexy, seamless, straight up bombastic Châteauneuf-du-Pape is an utter joy to drink now, yet should age effortlessly for 15-20 years. Given the overall size and profile here, this will not be for everyone, yet to me, it represents what Grenache does best; that being, delivering as much hedonistic and intellectual pleasure as possible, while remaining beautifully balance, elega

Bid on this magnum of 1997 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (100RP, 97WS, 95WE, 94ST, 93W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An inky/plum/purple color is accompanied by a stunning bouquet of violets, charcoal, creme de cassis and a hint of toast. Prodigious when it hits the palate with a full-bodied expansiveness, there is not a hard edge to be found in the 1997, only velvety tannins, compelling depth and fruit intensity, and stunning purity. It is a perfect expression of Napa viticulture and wine that should continue to age effortlessly for two decades or more. (RP)" (11/2013)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Fairchild "Stones No.1 - Beckstoffer Las Piedras" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 96RP, 96VN) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The extraordinary 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Stones No. 1 comes from another Beckstoffer Vineyard, Las Piedras in St. Helena. It is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from what is called clone 4. Loads of graphite, crushed rock, tobacco leaf, scorched earth, blackberry and blueberry fruit soar from the glass of this fat, opulent, decadently intense wine, which has low acidity, tremendous purity, and hedonistic appeal. Bid on this 3-500 ml-bottle lot of 2003 Chateau Tirecul La Gravière Monbazillac (500ml) (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A 30-year aging curve is possible for the 2003 Chateau. Composed of 55% Semillon and 45% Muscadelle aged nearly 30 months in French oak, it reveals a dark amber color along with a blockbuster bouquet of toffee, maple syrup, roasted hazelnuts, creme brulee, toasted pineapple and assorted honeyed citrus. Terrific acidity balances out the nearly 120 grams per liter of residual sugar. Possessing superb richness, intensity and length, this is an absolute steal that, as mentioned above, will age at least three decades. (RP)" (06/2012)

2013 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2013 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100JS, (98-100RP), 97DC, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "2013 was characterized by slightly more clusters, but they were smaller with very tiny berries. The vintage itself was another warm, drought year, but like 2012, there were no real spikes of heat. Growing conditions – other than the continued drought in California – were easy. These wines share the same characteristics with the 2012s and I’ll have a greater peg on them once they’re in bottle, but as you can tell, the production ranges from a very small 240 cases of the Georges III in Rutherford to 640 cases of the Las Piedras Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon LPV. Wines, at least from barrel, that have three-digit score potential include the Cabernet Sauvignon RBS from Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard, the Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon T-6 and the Cabernet Sauvignon LPV from the Las Piedras Vineyard. 2008 Sine Qua Non "The Line" California Grenache
Bid on this bottle of 2008 Sine Qua Non "The Line" California Grenache (98RP, 97VN, 95JS, 95WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine was just released in April of this year, and is a blend of 87.5% Grenache, 11% Syrah, and 1.5% Viognier, with 21% whole clusters used in the Grenache component. Seventy-eight percent of it came from the 11 Confessions Vineyard and the balance from Bien Nacido and the White Hawk. It is no measly wine at 15.5% alcohol, but it displays extraordinary berry fruit and kirsch notes intermixed with lavender and other floral components. Intense, full-bodied, voluptuously textured, and stunningly pure, with no real noticeable oak (21% new French oak was used, most of it the larger demi-muids), this beauty has put on weight and is showing additional complexity since I first tasted it. 1989 Palmer, Margaux
Bid on this bottle of 1989 Palmer, Margaux (96RP, 92JG, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the Château Palmer vertical in London, the 1989 Château Palmer has always been my favourite vintage from that decade after the 1983. The first bottle was unfortunately corked. The second was as it should be: the nose tensile with red berries, sous-bois, potpourri and strawberry pastille - lively and energetic. The palate is medium-bodied and vibrant right from the start, silky in texture with plenty of citrus fruit, gently building to a harmonious and detailed finish that lingers in the mouth. This is a magnificent Château Palmer that continues to effortlessly dish out so much vinous pleasure. (NM)" (05/2016)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (95VN, 94RP, 93JS, 92W&S). Vinous: "A dark, brooding beauty, the 2006 Monte Bello is still very, very young. The aromatics alone are enticing, but the tannins still need time to soften. The 2006 is a masculine, vertical Monte Bello that demands cellaring. Even so, it is pretty impressive today. Scents of lavender, sage, mint and savory herbs add closing flourishes. The perfumed sweetness of the fruit (one of the hallmarks of the very late harvest) remains one of the signatures of the 2006. The 2006 can be enjoyed today or cellared for another 25+ years. 2009 Forman Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (3L) (OWC)
Bid on this 3L-bottle of 2009 Forman Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (3L) (OWC - 95RP, 93VN) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon appears to have clamped down a bit since I tasted it last year. An unusually up-front, juicy wine from Forman, the 2009 is laced with expressive dark red fruit, flowers, mint, cinnamon, licorice and menthol. There is a softness and suppleness to the 2009 that is impossible not to love. Layers of fruit continue to build on the juicy, silky finish. The 2009 looks to be one of the more accessible wines of the vintage, but it also needs at least several years to lose some of its baby fat and primary notes. The French oak is also a bit prominent, providing one clue as to the wine’s ultimate potential vis-a-vis the monumental 2010. The 2009 is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc, 8% Petit Verdot and 5% Merlot. Ric Forman is arguably Napa Valley’s first superstar winemaker. (AG)" (12/2012)
