Bid on this magnum of 2008 Bruno Giacosa "Falletto" Barolo (1.5L) (96WS, 95JS, 93DC, 93VN). Wine Spectator: "Warm and chewy, this red exhibits cedar, sandalwood, tobacco and leather accents enhancing the core of cherry and raspberry. As this plays out on the palate, the wine turns more supple and vibrant, building to the long, expansive finish. Best from 2016 through 2035. (BS)" (03/2013)
Starting Bid: $200.00

Bid on this magnum of 2008 Giacomo Conterno "Cascina Francia" Barbera d'Alba (1.5L) (92RP, 92VN, 92WS, 91JS). Vinous: "A reticent wine, the 2008 Barbera d'Alba Cascina Francia remains incredibly tight, which is amazing as it has been in bottle now for a few years. Pure power and structure dominate in a wine that impresses for its persistence and overall balance. Ideally the 2008 could use at least another year or two in bottle. (AG) 92+" (03/2014)
Starting Bid: $120.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Domaine J. Roty Griottes-Chambertin Grand Cru (94BH, (91-94ST), (92-93RP)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A ripe, pure and highly perfumed nose of extract of plum and black raspberry trimmed in discreet wood is followed by rich, full-bodied and palate staining flavors that possess excellent volume on the well-delineated and lightly mineral-inflected finish that exudes energy and punch. There is plenty of personality and this very suave and velvety effort should be terrific in time." (01/2012)
Starting Bid: $625.98

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Domaine J. Roty Mazy-Chambertin Grand Cru (95JG, 93ST, 92BH, (90-91RP)). John Gilman: "The 2008 Roty Mazy-Chambertin is a stunning young wine in the making. The very deep and very elegant (particularly for young Mazy) nose offers up scents of black cherries, cassis, a touch of beetroot, fresh herbs, grilled meats, coffee and a discreet base of spicy new wood. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and complex, with a rock solid core of fruit, quite fine-grained (albeit substantial) tannins, tangy acids and stunning length and grip on the very refined finish. All of the grand crus were raised in eighty percent new wood this year (rather than the customary one hundred percent) and this has seemingly produced wines of simply brilliant terroir in 2008. 95+" (01/2011)
Starting Bid: $430.00

Bid on this bottle of 2008 Caymus "Special Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98JS, 94RP, 94WS, 92CG, 92VN). James Suckling: "This is mind-blowing on the nose with sweet tobacco, chocolate, cedar, cigar box, and licorice. Full-bodied and round with a bright and velvety tannin structure. Starts off slow, but then flies away. This is fabulous. Intense finish." (06/2011)
Starting Bid: $205.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Domaine Joseph Roty Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru Très Vieilles Vignes (97JG, 95VN, 94BH, 94ST, (92-93RP)). John Gilman: "The 2008 Charmes-Chambertin from the Rotys is a humbling, profound and beautiful wine. The flat out brilliant nose soars from the glass in a complex and absolutely elegant mélange of red and black cherries, a touch of blood orange, grilled meats, bacon fat, profound soil tones, coffee, fresh herbs and new wood. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very refined on the attack, with amazing mid-palate depth, ripe tannins, tangy acids and amazing intensity of flavor on the beautifully soil-driven and complex finish. An utterly stunning Roty Charmes!" (01/2011)

Bid on this bottle of 2008 Giacomo Montresor "Capitel della Crosara" Amarone della Valpolicella Classico. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Capitel della Crosara shows a bright and vibrant bouquet that is laced with sweet fruit, dried berry, dried earth, leather, spice, dark tar and licorice. The steady 2008 vintage delivers moderate sweetness and good acidity. Lingering tones of smoke and cured meat make for a pleasantly appetizing endnote. (ML)" (10/2013)
Starting Bid: $30.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Dunn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is simply extraordinary. Layers of dark fruit, flowers, licorice, spices and mint are beautifully woven together. With time in the glass the wine's striking inner perfume takes center stage. Tar, smoke, flowers, red berries and licorice are some of the nuances that reappear on the finish, while gorgeous aromatics are laced throughout. I could go on. Let me make it simple: this is a flat-out great bottle of wine from Randy Dunn. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2033. I tasted a large number of wines with Randy Dunn this year. These are some of the most powerful, age worthy Cabernets being made in Napa Valley today. (AG)" (12/2011)
Starting Bid: $225.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2008 Montrose, St-Estèphe (95DC, 95JS, 95RP, 94JG, 94VN, 94WE, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the superstars of the vintage, this classic Montrose is not as showy or opulent as the 2010, 2009 or 2003, but it offers a dense purple color followed by gorgeously sweet black raspberry and black currant fruit intermixed with loamy, earthy, forest floor notes, a floral component and a long, full-bodied finish. The 2008 was fashioned from yields of 44 hectoliters per hectare which is slightly less than the 2010's 45 hectoliters per hectare. (RP)" (05/2011)

Bid on this bottle of 2008 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (96JD, 96RP, 95DC, 95WE, 94JS, 94ST, 92VN, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A candidate for the wine of the vintage, Pontet Canet’s 2008 boasts an opaque purple color as well as copious aromas of sweet blueberries, blackberries and black currant fruit intertwined with lead pencil shavings, subtle barbecue smoke and a hint of forest floor. Full-bodied, with fabulous richness, texture and tremendous freshness, this first-growth-like effort is more developed than the uber-powerful 2010. Give it 5-8 years of cellaring and drink it over the following three decades. Bravo! Drink through 2046. (RP)" (05/2011)

Bid on this 6-half-bottle lot of 2008 Rauzan-Ségla, Margaux (375ml) (93JS, 93WE, 92DC, 91VN, 90RP). Wine Enthusiast: "Big, rich, almost velvet in texture, this is a powerful wine. It has spice, black berry fruits, layers of wood and black plum skins. Powerful wine for long-term aging and medium-term accessibility. (RV) " (04/2011)
Starting Bid: $150.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Araujo "Eisele Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 97WS, 95JS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard is breathtaking. Everything is in the right place in this dazzling, superb Cabernet Sauvignon. Layers of dark fruit, plums, camphor, licorice and espresso emerge from this effortless, gracious wine. The integration of fruit, tannin and French oak (100% new) is simply phenomenal. There is a dark, brooding quality to the 2008 that is immensely appealing. This is a stunning wine from Araujo. The 2008 is 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. (AG) 97+" (12/2011)
Starting Bid: $460.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Domaine Bouchard Père et Fils Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru (95BH, 94ST, 93RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A wonderfully, even exuberantly spicy and layered nose speaks of earth, underbrush and a certain animale character on the primarily red berry fruit that moves seamlessly into cool and intensely mineral broad-scaled flavors that are powerful, vibrant and display a saline element on the stylish and classy finish that is presently quite linear and will require plenty of time to flesh out because the suggested initial drinking window is not a typo. *Don't Miss!* " (04/2010)
Starting Bid: $410.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Domaine des Chezeaux Griottes-Chambertin Grand Cru. Domaine des Chezeaux is made at Domaine Ponsot with Ponsot's estate vineyard holdings. From the winery: "Less vigourous than Chambertin, Griotte-Chambertin is a rare wine, with a ruby hue, sensuality, breeding and elegance; a confiture of cherry flavours, red fruits, licorice and spices - a mineral note too. It is a wine with round tannins that suit perfectly the natural low acidity of the climat. Soft in the mouth, it is opulent and glossy - a wine of silk and lace."
Starting Bid: $540.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Château Musar Blanc Bekaa Valley Lebanon (93DC). Decanter: "Made from two local grape varieties, Obaideh and Merwah, from 100 year old pre-phylloxera vines. The wine is released eight years after the vintage, and this is the latest release. It has an expressive nose with notes of jasmine flower, citrus and a touch of honeyed exotic fruit. The palate is broad and textured, with layers of fruit and a fine acidity, leading onto a long-lasting fruit and floral finish. Best to decant and enjoy with food. (CG)" (12/2017)
Starting Bid: $232.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Joseph Phelps Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon (a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot and the rest Petit Verdot and Malbec) is an impressive version. Their 1975 Cabernet Sauvignon is still alive at age 35. The 2008s dense ruby/purple color is followed by an attractive bouquet of creme de cassis and charcoal. Revealing full-bodied richness and lots of depth, it is one of the finest regular Cabernet Sauvignons Phelps has made in many years. (RP)" (12/2010)
