2008 Rubicon Estate "Rubicon" Rutherford Bordeaux Blend (Previously $160)

95 points Connoisseurs Guide: "Deep, rich, ripe and focused, this wine charms from the outset with aromas that are spot on for varietal precision and smell of the complex, layered best of the West Rutherford Bench. Its combination of currant and black cherry notes with hints of root beer and sweet loam are followed on the palate by a supple entry, balancing acidity and by the solid framing of long-grained, polished tannins. Like its aromatic character, its flavors are writ large and writ precisely, and while no one is going to mistake it for a quiet, nua ...

2008 Agusti Torelló Mata "Kripta" Cava Brut Penedes (Previously $90)

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The current vintage of the special cuvée is the 2008 Kripta, a classical blend of the local grapes Macabeo, Xarello and Parellada aged in contact with the lees in bottle for a long time, no less than five years, during which time the bottle is closed with a cork (it's usually a crown stopper). Apparently this gives the wine a different character and is the way it was traditionally done. This is a polished Cava with yeast and brioche aromas and a soft palate with clean, developed flavors and integrated acidity. A ...

2008 Pape-Clément Blanc, Pessac-Léognan (Previously $160)

93 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2008 Château Pape Clément Blanc is still going strong and has impressive purity and freshness. Classy notes of lemon curd, pineapple, flowers, and honeysuckle all emerge from this beautifully mineral-laced effort, and it’s medium-bodied, vibrant and balanced on the palate. The blend of the 2008 is 45% Semillon, 43% Sauvignon, and the rest Sauvignon Gris." (02/2019) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Composed of 45% Semillon, 43% Sauvignon Blanc, 8% Sauvignon Gris and 4% Muscadelle that hit 14.5% natural alcohol from y ...

2008 Match Vineyards "Baconbrook" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (Previously $65)

Wine Spectator: "Coincidence or not, this wine does have a meaty, smoky bacon and cigar box-like edge. Intense and well-structured, this is dense, firm and chewy. A cool-climate expression of Cabernet that needs cellaring. Best from 2014 through 2023. (JL, Web Only-2012)"

2008 Red Car "Heaven & Earth" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (Previously $60)

92 points Vinous: "Vivid red. Sexy aromas of blackberry preserves, smoky minerals, licorice and Indian spices, lifted by a high-pitched floral nuance. Tighter, more structured and showing greater intensity than the previous wines, but at the same time displaying more finesse. Sweet dark fruit flavors firm up a bit with air and become more floral on the back half. Finishes with excellent juicy persistence and very fine tannins. (ST)" (05/2010) 89 points Wine Spectator: "Tight and full-bodied, with loamy earth, dried currant and berry flavors. Touches of ...

2008 Red Car "The Fight-Knockout!" Syrah (Previously $50)

91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Inky ruby. Highly nuanced nose evokes blackberry, licorice, violet, bitter chocolate and black olive. Tightly wound on entry, then fleshes out with air to offer sweet black and blue fruit and licorice flavors and a lashing of cracked pepper. Quite youthful and dominated by its structure right now but this shows excellent potential. (ST) 91+" (06/2011) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Tightly wound, firm and spicy, with cedar, tobacco, dried berry, berry jam and anise notes that are full-bodied, focuse ...

2008 Turley "Pesenti Vineyard" Paso Robles Zinfandel (Previously $60)

92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright red-ruby. Musky dried fruits and flowers on the nose, with fresher raspberry, orange zest and pepper emerging with aeration. Chewy and solidly built, with penetrating acidity energizing the flavors of rose petal and crushed rock. Not yet especially complex but this wine's intensity and clarity suggest it will reward a few years of patience. (ST)" (06/2010) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From the limestone soils of the Turley-owned Pesenti Vineyard, the 2008 Zinfandel Pesenti exhib ...

2008 Rubicon Estate "Red Barn & Cohn-Four" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon (Previously $75)

Francis Ford Coppola purchased this historic estate back in 1975, and his been working ever since to return Napa's preeminent winery to its former glory. While it has operated under many names since its purchase (Niebaum-Coppola, Rubicon Estate), Francis and his wife Eleanor finally acquired the iconic Inglenook trademark in 2011, allowing the wines to finally be labeled with the historical name. The 2008 vintage was small, but very ripe, resulting in deeply concentrated, aromatic wines.
