1995 Dalla Valle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Back In Stock!
1995 Dalla Valle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

95 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Impressively saturated ruby color. Knockout floral nose combines blackcurrant, spices and shoe polish. Lush and supple in the mouth, with extraordinarily pure fruit character, yet more tightly wrapped than the '96 due to stronger acidity. Really juicy and penetrating, though, and very long on the finish. (ST) 95+" (05/1998) 94 points Wine Spectator: "Perfumed red currant, cherry, anise and a sort of melted-chocolate aroma. It's firm, tight and concentrated, yet elegant in its own way, with tannins ...Read More »

1995 Turley "Aida" Napa Valley Zinfandel Back In Stock!
1995 Turley "Aida" Napa Valley Zinfandel

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1995 Zinfandel Aida Vineyard (16.2% alcohol) is the finest Zinfandel Turley has yet produced from this terroir. More than any other Turley Zinfandel, this wine possesses a southern Rhone / Provencal / garrigue (that herbes de Provence, earthy concoction) personality that jumps from the glass. The color is a deep, dense, murky garnet. Jammy black-cherries, kirsch, strawberries, pepper, and earth make for one of the most complex smelling Zinfandels I have ever experienced. In the mouth, the wine is phenomenally ...Read More »

1995 Moet & Chandon "Dom Pérignon" Brut Champagne

95 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Wonderfully subtle, complex aromas of white flowers, acacia honey, minerals, nuts and mushroom, with musky and leesy nuances. Oily, rich and smoky but with terrific verve and lift. Quite substantial and chewy for a young D.P. but not at all heavy. Yellow plum and strong soil tones in the middle and on the palate-staining finish. Offers a rare combination of richness and finesse. (ST)" (11/2002) 94 points Vinous: "The more I taste DP the more I am convinced that the most consistently reliable bottli ...Read More »

1995 Turley "Black-Sears" Howell Mountain Zinfandel Back In Stock!
1995 Turley "Black-Sears" Howell Mountain Zinfandel

95 points Wine Spectator: "*Highly Recommended* This Turley Zin is characteristically intense and deeply concentrated, showing off complex cherry, berry and plum flavors, with distinct pepperlike and herbaceous accents, and a long, lingering aftertaste. Bravo. (JL)" (07/1997) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1995 Zinfandel Black-Sears Vineyard, which has a northeasterly orientation on Howell Mountain, weighs in at 16.1% alcohol. Harvested on November 15 (because of the vineyard's cool climate elevation of 2400 feet), this is a fabulously r ...Read More »

1995 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Unbelievably rich, multidimensional, broad-shouldered wine, with slightly more elegance and less weight than the powerhouse 1996, this gorgeously proportioned, medium to full-bodied, fabulously ripe, rich, cassis-scented and flavored Grand-Puy-Lacoste is another beauty. It should be drinkable within 4-5 years, and keep for 25-30. This classic Pauillac is a worthy rival to the other-worldly 1996. (RP)" (02/1998) 93 points Wine Spectator: "Beautiful aromas of currant, plum and spice. Full-bodied, with a wonderfu ...Read More »

1995 Graham "Malvedos" Vintage Port

90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep ruby. Superripe, exotic aromas of cassis and woodsmoke. Incredibly sweet and viscous on the palate; very concentrated, deep and strong in extract. A fruit bomb of a single-quinta port. Extremely long and powerful. This can't stand comparison with the great '94 Graham, but on its own it's a compelling and more easily approachable young port. (ST)" (04/1998) Wine Spectator: "Plenty of plummy, grapey aromas and flavors in this young vintage Port. Medium- to full-bodied, with medium, fine tannins ...Read More »

1995 Haut-Bailly, Pessac-Leognan

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at Berry Brother & Rudd’s vertical. The 1995 is probably reaching its peak. It retains that lovely Graves bouquet with tertiary notes subtly interwoven into the red berry fruit, that meaty element only becoming evident with continued aeration. The palate is sensual on the entry with a rounded texture, plenty of sous-bois notes defining the finish that is long in the mouth. The savoury side of this wine is less obvious here that on previous bottles. Drinking beautifully now. (NM)" (01/2013) 92 points Wine ...Read More »

1995 Famiglia Anselma Barolo "Adasi" Back In Stock!
1995 Famiglia Anselma Barolo "Adasi"

From an emerging superstar in Barolo, and more specifically from Maurizio Anselma, a man in his twenties but an intelligent and experienced fashioner of Barolo nonetheless. The estate is also a baby, at least by Italian standards, having been established in 1993 with their first released in 1997. The family began purchasing property in the Barolo zone in the late seventies. Today they are one of the largest land owners, owning more than 80 hectares in three prized areas: Monforte D'Alba, Serralunga and Barolo. The Anselmas choose only the best grapes eac ...Read More »

1995 Rieussec, Sauternes

For several generations, Château Rieussec has been a leading name in Sauternes wines. As early as 1868, Charles Cocks remarked that "beyond any of the others, Rieussec produces wines that are very similar to Yquem wines." Today, it is Wine Advocate singing its praises: "It is safe to say that Château Rieussac has both feet firmly cemented within the highest echelon of the Sauternes hierarchy, tucked neatly just behind Château d'Yquem. A brief glance at my notes illustrates how this wine delivers year after year, a consistency that has sealed its reputati ...Read More »

1995 Charles Heidsieck "Blanc des Millénaires" Brut Champagne

95 points Decanter: "The last batch of 1995 was disgorged in summer 2017, after spending 21 years on lees. ‘Jetted’ to revive it after disgorgement, it has a new lease of life. A refreshing young Champagne with pure chalkiness and lemon intensity. Cries out for oysters. (CG)" (07/2018) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep, pure and fresh on the fruit-intense and complex nose, the 1995 Blanc des Millenaires is still young and incredibly fresh on the palate. This is refreshingly pure, concentrated, fruity and perfectly round Champagne that reve ...Read More »

1995 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Interestingly, the first thing that came to my mind in smelling the 1995 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select was a relatively young vintage of Château Latour. Another fabulous effort, with notes of blackcurrants, graphite, a touch of vanilla, sweet tannin and a full-bodied, multidimensional mouthfeel, this vintage offers stunning aromatics of black fruits, earth, charcoal and lead pencil shavings. In addition, there is an intense, full-bodied mouthfeel, and a youthful vibrancy and vigor that are sensational ...Read More »

1995 Dal Forno Romano Amarone della Valpolicella

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The opaque purple-colored 1995 Amarone is nearly perfect. It is reminiscent of super-concentrated blackberry liqueur infused with incense, smoke, and minerals. Full-bodied, dense, and chewy, this huge offering possesses remarkable purity and liveliness for its size and intensity. 1995 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) Back In Stock!
1995 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is another winery where the 1995 may be as strong as the 1994. The color is an opaque purple. The wine is full-bodied and powerful, with classic notes of cassis intermixed with loamy soil scents, underbrush, and spice. There is massive body and elevated, but sweet tannin that is well-integrated with the wine's other components, a blockbuster mid-palate, and a finish that lasts for 30+ seconds. Anticipated maturity: 2000-2025. Modern-day society seems to always be in search of new stars, but this winery has b ...Read More »

1995 Stonestreet "Legacy" Alexander Valley Bordeaux Blend

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Stonestreet does exceptionally well with its 'big reds,' such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and their proprietary red wine called Legacy. The 1995 Legacy (a blend of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Cabernet Franc, and the balance Merlot and Petit Verdot) has been aged for nearly 2 years in 100% new French oak barrels, and bottled unfined and unfiltered. (06/2000) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A complex nose of spice box, tobacco smoke, cedar wood, red currants and cherries leads to a full-bodied, dense, dark ruby/garnet-colored Brunello with excellent purity and ripeness. There is moderately high tannin, but the wine is nicely balanced by its rich fruit and extract. (RP)" (02/2000) K&L Notes: Antinori' ...Read More »

100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "As good (better??) than the 2001, the 1995 Monbazillac Cuvee Madame is straight up extraordinary juice that certainly one of the finest dessert wines I’ve ever tasted. A blend of 60% Muscadelle, 40% Sémillon that spent just under three years in new French oak, it offers a heavenly bouquet of orange marmalade, caramelized peach, brioche and honeycomb, a huge, full-bodied, unctuous profile, no weight and a finish that just won’t quiet. 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This limited production (300 cases) wine made from a vineyard on the eastern side of Howell Mountain, this brilliantly made Cabernet suggests this winery knows what to do with top quality fruit. While the 1995 will be hard to find, readers who are interested in profound California Cabernet Sauvignons should seek out future releases. Still could do with a decade or more of aging." (11/2015) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Bottled in June, 1997, this profound Mouton is more accessible than the more muscular 1996. 91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(a blend of 65% cabernet sauvignon, 30% merlot, and 5% cabernet franc; 12.6% alcohol): Medium red with an amber rim. Woodsy notes of spicecake and forest floor complicate redcurrant, tobacco, mocha, and smoke on the nose. Nicely concentrated and vibrant, with a cool, crisp quality to the clean flavors of red fruits, spices, and minerals. (JM, Web—2007)" 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As I have indicated numerous times in this journal, the second wine of Las Cases, Clos du Marquis, is one of the finest second wines being made in Bordeaux. Over recent years, it has become a wine of classified growth quality. The 1996 may turn out to be even better than the outstanding 1995. Both are exceptional wines, with the ...Read More »

1995 Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1995 Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage (97RP, 97VN, 95WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A step up and showing more minerality, structure and length, with a masculine style, the 1995 Hermitage is drinking beautifully today. Described as disappointing by Jean-Louis over the past 5 years or so, it appears to be opening up and possesses fabulous, liquid rock-like qualities to go with cassis, blackberry and wild herbs. Medium to full-bodied, fabulously textured, rich and stretching out nicely on the finish, enjoy this beauty over the coming decade. (JD)" (08/2014)

1995 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this bottle of 1995 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (96RP, 95WS, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It is fun to go back and forth between the 1995 and 1996, two superb vintages for Haut-Brion. The 1995 seems to have sweeter tannin and a bit more fat and seamlessness when compared to the more structured and muscular 1996. Certainly 1995 was a vintage that the brilliant administrator Jean Delmas handled flawlessly. The result is a deep ruby/purple-colored wine with a tight but promising nose of burning wood embers intermixed with vanilla, spice box, earth, mineral, sweet cherry, black currant, plum-like fruit, medium to full body, a high level of ripe but sweet tannin, and a finish that goes on for a good 40-45 seconds. Vinous: "Freshly cut flowers, raspberries, anise and savory herbs jump from the glass in the 1995 Opus One. A beautifully bright, focused wine, the 1995 stands out for its high-toned aromatics and fabulous balance. All the elements are in the right place. This is a distinctly pretty, feminine Opus One that is all about grace. An attractive aromatic lift rounds things out nicely. Stylistically, the 1995 belongs to the wines of similarly high rainfall vintages such as 1986 and 2011. The 1995 is 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot and 2% Malbec. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The saturated black/purple-colored 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon possesses a promising yet backward nose of minerals, lead pencil, and blackberries/cassis. The wine was bottled in June, but it is showing no ill effects. This mammoth offering displays extraordinary concentration and purity, as well as a thick, unctuous texture with high tannin levels. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1995 Colgin "Herb Lamb Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 97VN, 93ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I realize perfection in wine, like perfection in anything, is in the eyes of the beholder, and there are those who believe perfection is simply unobtainable. But in my mind, the 1996 and 1995 come close to perfection. Why? First of all, these extraordinary expressions of Cabernet Sauvignon are awesomely concentrated and endowed, while at the same time elegant and amazingly harmonious. The equilibrium between the wines' component parts - new oak, alcohol, tannin, acidity, and extract - is right on, with nothing out of place. The 1996 and 1995 could be mistaken for identical twins, although close examination reveals that the 1995 has a slightly firmer tannic edge, and the 1996 slightly lower acidity. However, both possess Colgin's tell-tale opaque black/purple color, phenomenal aromatics consisting of blackberries, raspberries, blueberries,

Decanter: "The 1995 Dominus is very much cut from the same cloth as the 1994, with a deep bouquet of baked black cherry, cassis, truffle and rich loamy soil, and a full-bodied, powerful and rather old-school palate impression. As in the 1994, there is just a touch of torrefection in the fruit tones here which the Dominus team have worked hard to avoid in more recent vintages, but this is a very compelling wine which certainly does nod towards Libourne.(WK)" (11/2016)
