1975 Graham's Vintage Port

Robert Parker on Graham: "Graham is another great port house, producing one of the deepest-colored and sweetest styles of vintage port. Along with Taylor and Fonseca, Graham has probably been the most consistent producer of great port in the post- World War II era. Their tawnys are quite good rather than exceptional, but their vintage ports are truly sublime and sumptuous."

1975 Coutet, Barsac (375ml)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Every bit as good as the more open-knit and expressive 1976, the 1975 is lighter and more typically Coutet in its proportions, with a graceful, fresh taste, very good concentration, and years of evolution ahead. (RP)" (12/1997)

1975 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (High-Mid Shoulder, Slightly Oxidized Capsule) Back In Stock!
1975 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (High-Mid Shoulder, Slightly Oxidized Capsule)

93 points Wine Spectator: "Savory, pepper, tobacco and juniper notes lead the way. The tannins remain slightly rigid, but the core of dried currant, cherry and plum fruit has enough substance to match. Old-school Bordeaux, aged gracefully. Drink now through 2020. (JM, Web-2014)" 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Served at the chateau. It has a truly wonderful bouquet, very natural with a discernable wild mint notes centre stage. Very fine definition, certainly quite mature, but very fresh, gaining intensity in the glass with subtle hints of leat ...Read More »

1975 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1975 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97JG, 93VN, 90WS). John Gilman: "The more I drink California cabernets from the decade of the 1970s, the more I am convinced that I have a slight preference for the style of the 1975s over their more highly touted brethren from the riper year of 1974. The brilliant 1975 Martha’s Vineyard is certainly pretty persuasive evidence that 1975 is indeed a great, great year for cabernet in Napa, as the wine is beautifully deep, pure and still a tad on the young side at age thirty-six! The magical and deep-pitched nose offers up a great mélange of black cherries, petroleum jelly, cigar smoke, leather, a touch of chipotles, coffee and a very complex base of soil tones. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and powerfully built, with impeccable focus and balance, a rock solid core of fruit, still a bit of tannin to resolve, superb, tangy acids and simply stunning length and grip on the perfectly pois

1975 Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1975 Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1975 is a powerful Lafite, and troublesome bottles tend to reveal more tannin and funkiness than others, which have a roasted character, combined with a gravelly, mineral underpinning. As this wine has aged, it appears to be less of a sure bet. In most cases, it has been an outstanding wine, as the bottle tasted in December suggested. The aromatics indicate the wine is fully mature, but the tough tannin level clearly underscores the dark side of the 1975 vintage. This wine will undoubtedly last for another 30+ years, but I am not sure the fruit will hold. It is a perplexing wine that may still turn out to be an exceptional Lafite. (RP)" (02/1996)

1975 Latour, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1975 Latour, Pauillac (94JG, 93DC, 93RP, 93WS). John Gilman: "The 1975 Latour is a very good example of the vintage, which was nowhere near as successful in the Médoc as it was in the Right Bank and Graves. But, in this era, Latour always seemed to rise above the general level of the vintage in more difficult years, and this was certainly the case in 1975. The wine offers up a fine, classic bouquet of sweet cassis, cherries, Cuban cigar wrapper, black truffle, dark soil tones, cigar ash and just a hint of petroleum jelly in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and now very elegant in profile, with a solid core, excellent acids and still a bit of tannin perking up the long and complex finish. The 1975 vintage was the highest ever measured for tannins and acidity on the Left Bank, up until the 2010 vintage came along, so for the Latour ’75 to be so beautifully balanced forty years down the road is no small achievement! Fine juice and

1975 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1975 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (95JS, 90RP). James Suckling: "I absolutely love the nose of licorice, minerals, black currants, and berries. Full and slightly hard and acidic, but I could smell it all night. It softens and turns velvety and dusty on the finish with lots of fruit." (03/2012)
