2016 Reichsrat von Buhl Pechstein Riesling Grosses Gewächs (Previously $85)

95 points James Suckling: "Powerful and dramatic yet sleek and polished, this has acidity that's both bright, lemony and mineral. Better from 2018 and has long-term ageing potential." (12/2017) 95 points Wine Enthusiast: "Made from Riesling grown in the heat-retaining basalt soils of the Pechstein vineyard, this dry, intensely mineral wine balances nerve and tension and against luscious white peach and yellow-cherry flavors. It's silky and lithe on the palate but jolted by electric acidity and a long, steely finish. Tasted in early 2018, it's still clo ...

2016 von Winning Pechstein Riesling Grosses Gewächs Pfalz

94 points Vinous: "High-toned scents of flowers and green herbs – wisteria, mint and pennyroyal prominent among them – practically poke you in the nose. A veritable wave of seawater on the polished palate serves for saliva-inducement, mint exercises a cooling influence, and cress, sage, black pepper and stone supply incisive, palate-staining, invigorating counterpoint. The long finish offers vibrant, juicy, mouthwatering interaction of the aforementioned elements. Any oak influence is entirely discreet, or perhaps I should say it’s completely submerged b ...

2017 Müller-Catoir "MC" Riesling Feinherb Pfalz

90 points Vinous: "This is a terrific example of Riesling relishing what I like to call 'hidden sweetness.' The legally halbtrocken level of residual sugar present here not only beautifully supports the flavors of bright, luscious key lime, grapefruit and white peach, but also seems to set off the wine’s mouthwatering sense of salinity (a cleaner and more purely mineral salinity than that expressed in the corresponding legally trocken generic). Sage and basil lend pungent and cooling notes. A silken feel is in itself alluring while also offering a lovely ...

2002 Dr. Bürklin-Wolf Ruppertsberger Gaisböhl Riesling Pfalz Trockenbeerenauslese (375ml)

98 points Wine Spectator: "Sweet and intense, yet racy too, offering an amazing taste experience. The essence is of apricot, passion fruit and cinnamon; it has a light touch for such concentration due to its bracing structure. Endless finish. Drink now through 2025. (BS)" (03/2004)

2002 Dr. Bürklin-Wolf Wachenheimer Goldbächel Riesling TBA (375ml)

97 points Wine Spectator: "Like syrup in texture, intensely sweet and powered by what must be an incredible level of acidity because it all remains fresh and tangy on the finish. Apricot, caramel, orange peel and sweet spices from botrytis are the flavors. Long, long finish. Drink now through 2025. (BS)" (03/2004)

2015 Reichsrat von Buhl Kirchenstück Riesling Grosses Gewächs Pfalz (Previously $140)

Jancis Robinson: "It’s surprising how an extra year seems to have already resulted in some waxy and fumy notes one would associate with Riesling of a certain age. On the palate, the Kirchenstück reflects the generosity of the 2015 vintage with a full body, supple texture and an almost sweet expression not much bothered by acidity. There is ripe fruit, but it’s not a fruit-driven wine. 17.5/20 points (MS) " (08/2017)
