2016 Hermann J. Wiemer Seneca Lake (Finger Lakes) Dry Riesling

93 points Wine & Spirits: "This feels both complete and composed in its array of flavors and aromas—a whiff of white peach, a hint of saffron, a pinch of bruised pineapple, a maple-sugar bass note. The texture is similarly diverse, rich at first, then slimming into a crisp finish. It has the tension and the drive for pork loin." (08/2018) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: " Ripe stone fruit, rose and wet stone aromas show intensely on the nose. There's great presence to the medium-bodied palate, which boasts ripe, juicy flavors of apple skins and peach. ...

2017 Terrassen Finger Lakes New York Gamay Noir

Terrassen is the wine project of noted sommelier Thomas Pastuszak. Fromt he producer: "Gamay sourced from a 20-year-old vineyard (Beaujolais cuttings) on the West Side of Cayuga Lake (our friends at Sheldrake Point Winery, in Ovid, NY), planted on limestone, clay & shale. Harvest followed by gentle foot-trodding and a 9-day cold-soak (partial Carbonic Maceration). 100% Whole Cluster, fermented half with Indigenous Yeasts and half with a Burgundy yeast for nearly 2 months in open-top fermenters, 2x daily punch-downs. Moved to old barrique for malolactic f ...

2017 Boundary Breaks "No.239" Finger Lakes Dry Riesling

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2017 Dry Riesling No. 239, made by Kelby Russell at Red Newt, comes in with eight grams of residual sugar, 7.3 of acidity and 12.3% alcohol. The winery says that the goal here is to harvest at an "unusually high degree of ripeness and then ferment the wine dry," like a German Spätlese Trocken. Clean and transparent, this is pretty gorgeous. The first claim to fame is that ripeness—it seems surprisingly rich and fruity. It then adds a hint of sugar on the end. I was thinking: "Whaaaat? Isn't this the Dry Riesl ...

2015 Ravines Finger Lakes Dry Riesling

90 points Wine Spectator: "Still youthfully tight, this brims with tension as the long, minerally spine holds the core of yellow apple, star fruit and white peach flavors together. Shows serious cut and drive on the finish, with a mouthwatering echo of dried fennel seed. Best from 2018 through 2022. *Smart Buys* (JM)" (02/2017)

2017 Ravines Wine Cellars Finger Lakes Cabernet Franc

Ravines has easily been one of the best Finger Lakes wineries we've seen distributed this far west, consistently over- delivering on quality and value. Winery tasting notes: "Deep ruby red color with ripe plum and red berry fruit, almost jammy, with spicy and earthy aromas. Full bodied style with very soft texture but good structure."

2013 Element Finger Lakes New York Cabernet Franc (Previously $40)

Wine Spectator: "Soft and charming, with pretty mulled cherry and currant fruit draped in tea and cinnamon notes. (JM, Web Only-2018)" K&L Notes: Winery notes: "This is the 'biggest' wine of the range in terms of body, but it is deftly balanced and elegant. It was fermented and aged for 36 months in neutral French puncheons which subdued the variety a bit; however, there remains a pure varietal signature showing cassis, cedar and carob chocolate aromas. The palate is 'juicy' and a touch 'leafy' with some firmer tannins, and it is structured (even minera ...
