90 points Decanter: "This is a concentrated style, with lemon and lime alongside mango. It’s powerful on the palate with sappy, mouthcoating flavour and a long finish that has a touch of citrus oil and lime pastille. A little bitter twist on the finish brings freshness. Not the most elegant Saint-Péray of the vintage, but plenty of interest, featuring a touch of raspberry on the finish, unexpectedly. Grapes grown on clay limestone, fermented with indigenous yeasts, matured mostly in vat, with a small proportion spending 2 months in new oak. (MW)" (09/201...
91 points Decanter: "Coconut, dried citrus peels and orange blossom that are light and fresh on the palate - very drinkable. An aerial freshness and nicely balanced, this would make for a good richer aperitif, as well as working with lighter dishes. Grown on granite soils, fermented with indigenous yeasts, matured in 50% new, 50% old barrels. (MW)" (09/2019) Jeb Dunnuck: "A blend of 80% Marsanne and 20% Roussanne, the 2018 Saint Joseph Vania Blanc has an exotic, complex style that offers ample tangerine and orange blossom-like aromatics to go with a me...

100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The utterly perfect 2010 Hermitage Ex Voto Blanc is as good as it gets in Hermitage Blanc. Offering a crazy array of liquid rock-like minerality, graphite, flint, white currants, white peach and quince, it's layered, full-bodied, impeccably balanced and pure. It's a straight up tour de force that’s going to have decades of longevity. As always, the blend is 90% Marsanne and 10% Roussanne, aged 30 months in new French oak. Hat's off to the Guigal family for this incredible wine. (JD)" (12/2016) 98 points Wine S...
92-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Saint Joseph les Oliviers Blanc is approximately 80% Marsanne and 20% Roussanne, all barrel fermented and aged almost entirely in used oak (there is one new demi-muid in the mix for the 2018). It's impressively rich and honeyed, with sweet, fruity notes of grilled pineapple balanced by hints of white pepper and brighter citrus notes. Full-bodied, creamy and lush, it remains lively and fresh on the finish—a wonderful paradox that the Gonons seem able to bring out in all of their wines. (JC)" (01/2020) ...

98 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Cut from the same cloth, the 2017 Hermitage Blanc is stunning stuff, and Chave lovers should unquestionably have bottles of this in the cellar. Bottled in August of this year, its medium gold hue is followed by a mammoth bouquet of quince, flower oil, buttered almonds, and brioche. Every bit as good on the palate, it’s full-bodied, has a stacked mid-palate, flawless balance, and incredible minerality as well as length on the finish. It’s insanely good today, and while this cuvée can shut down, I wonder if this ever will. My money ...

Winemaker's Notes: "My limited edition series is an ongoing experiment with making more aromatic and fuller whites with some skin-contact and in clay amphoras. The ancient Georgians calls this when the wine “lays with its mother”. So, I decided to call this series Milk Fed. The Marsanne grape is a Rhône variety that has a long history of pairing with Roussane, but here I wanted to let it speak with its own voice and allow it’s mineral and richer oily fruit textures to come out for this one-off.
These Marsanne grapes were crushed, put into clay amphoras...

Jancis Robinson: "100% Marsanne. Aged for 10 months in oak. Tasted blind. Honeysuckle and dried stone fruits, plenty of dairy character on the palate and enjoyable salinity giving savoury complexity to the finish, as well as spicy oak. 17/20 points. (RH)" (11/2019) K&L Notes: The Desmeures family of Domaine des Remizières are fourth-generation winemakers who originally sold grapes to the local cooperative. After completing their winery in 1974, the family began production at their new property. The estate is now managed by Phillipe Desmeures, his daugh...
