Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2001 Château Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc (92RP, 92WS, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2001 Chateauneuf du Pape blanc (80% Roussanne and 20% Grenache Blanc, Picardin, and Bourboulenc) is a buttery, smoky, rich example with a mineral-like intensity, full body, and lavishly rich flavors that coat the palate with honeysuckle, marmalade, and glycerin. It should drink well for 10-15 years. " (02/2003)

Bid on this magnum of Cappellano "AB Normal" Vino Rosso (1.5L). This is a true unicorn of wine in many senses. First, It is one of the rarest wines made by one of the most difficult to find producers in Barolo. Second, it is Barbera grown on prime Nebbiolo real estate in the heart of Barolo. Third, it bears no vintage since it cannot legally be labeled as such. Fourth, it IS in fact a vintage wine from the incredible 2004 vintage. Importer's notes: "The wine was actually vinified by his father, the late Teobaldo Cappellano, as it comes from the classic 2004 vintage. The wine itself is somewhat unusual to begin with, as it is sourced from old Barbera vines found in the heart of the famed Gabutti vineyard in Barolo. His neighbors have questioned him for years on the existence of these vines in such valuable Nebbiolo terroir, however Augusto feels that Barbera is equally at home in this environment and has let the vines continue to produce...The older wine has not been sitting around in

Bid on this bottle of 1985 Quinta do Noval Vintage Port (91WS). Wine Spectator: "Fully mature, with warm fruitcake, lightly toasted cinnamon, sandalwood and blood orange flavors gliding through in unison. Very silky and perfumed, this doesn't have the density and drive of the modern day vintage, but there's nothing wrong with its elegance. Tasted from magnum.—Non-blind Quinta do Noval vertical (May 2018). Drink now through 2025. (JM, Web Only-2019)"

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1987 & 1991 Krohn Colheita Port Tasting Lot, including 2-bottles of 1987 Krohn Colheita Port and 1-bottle of 1991 Krohn Colheita Port. Of the 1987 Krohn Colheita Port,A difficult vintage climatically, but what a result in the bottle! Dry winter and spring. Very hot and dry summer. Harvest began in the first days of September but was interrupted by very heavy rainfall in the third week. Nonetheless, some very fine wines were produced that went into this bright and toasty Colheita.
Starting Bid: $165.00

Bid on this bottle of 1975 Bertani Amarone Recioto della Valpolicella Classico Superiore. This historic firm was founded in 1857 at Quinto di Valpentena by brothers Giovanbattista and Gaetano Bertani. This Recioto, among the world longest-lived wines, owes its strength and power from the same method used to make the dry Amarone (grapes picked at optimal ripeness and dried on straw mats in special outbuildings, then pressed and fermented). In this case, however, the resulting wine stops its fermentation early thereby preserving its sweetness. At the table it acts like your finest vintage port, though with less brut alcoholic strength and a more pronounced fruitcake/raisin aroma. This is also tremendous with old and bleu cheeses.
Starting Bid: $100.00

Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 1995 Sine Qua Non "Tant Pis!" Central Coast Red Blend (1.5L) (91JD). Jeb Dunnuck: "One of the project wines from Manfred’s early days and tasted out of magnum, the 1995 Tant Pis is a 60/40 split of Grenache and Syrah that, I believe, has the Grenache from Alban Vineyard and the Syrah from other sources. This more ruby-hued beauty has a lifted, perfumed bouquet of spiced red fruits, iodine, dried flowers, and hints of earth. It’s another fully mature yet balanced, textured, satisfying wine with loads to love. " (02/2020)
Starting Bid: $13,500.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1970 Jose Alexandre Damasio Gomes Madeira Verdelho Colheita. Very few experiences in the wine world can compare to old Madeira. The complexity that these wines achieve with significant age is simply unlike any other. This lovely version demonstrates the more elegant side of aged Madeira, being composed of 100% Verdelho. Rarity aside, the sensory experience alone is more than worth the price of admission.

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Egly-Ouriet Champagne Grand Cru Brut Millésimé (93ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(70% pinot noir and 30% chardonnay): Light yellow-gold. Fresh orchard and pit fruits on the deeply scented nose, with notes of musky rhubarb and smoky minerals emerging with air. Deeply pitched poached pear and nectarine flavors show impressive power and are lifted by notes of chalk and ginger. Packs a serious punch but manages to come off as elegant. Finishes very long, with a strong jolt of minerality and slow-building leesiness. (ST)" (12/2013)
Starting Bid: $480.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Quinta Vale D. Maria Douro (95RP, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Tinto (Vale d. Maria), i.e, the flagship estate wine from the Quinta, is an old vines (65 years) field blend. Approximately three-fourths of the juice was fermented in tank, the rest in lagares. Then transferred to barrel, two thirds of the juice was aged in new French oak for 21 months, the other third in a mixture of second and third pass oak. It is listed at 15% alcohol. Tightly wound, a bit brooding and powerful this year, this is a big boy in terms of structure, showing astringency on the finish, yet it seems also to show fine balance overall, managing to project some elegance, notwithstanding its underlying power. The graceful mid-palate is beautifully constructed, not jammy or thick, but still concentrated. It has a persistent finish. Beneath the oaky overlay, there is fine fruit as well as that impressive structure. This promises to be exceptional if you have a lit
