Bid on this bottle of 1977 Louis Roederer "Cristal" Brut Champagne (98VN, 93JG). Vinous: "One of the surprises in this tasting, the 1977 Cristal is shockingly beautiful. Delicate and gracious in the glass, the 1977 is a bit slow out of the gate, but then gains freshness and focus with air. Candied orange peel, hazelnut, dried flowers and dried herbs give the 1977 its striking aromatic lift. Wonderfully alive and nuanced in every way, the 1977 is formidable tonight. I don’t see the 1977 developing much from here, but it is undeniably gorgeous right now. Above all else, the 1977 offers superb persistence and mind-blowing finesse. In a word: sublime. (AG)" (06/2017)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Egly-Ouriet Champagne Grand Cru Brut Millésimé (93ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(70% pinot noir and 30% chardonnay): Light yellow-gold. Fresh orchard and pit fruits on the deeply scented nose, with notes of musky rhubarb and smoky minerals emerging with air. Deeply pitched poached pear and nectarine flavors show impressive power and are lifted by notes of chalk and ginger. Packs a serious punch but manages to come off as elegant. Finishes very long, with a strong jolt of minerality and slow-building leesiness. (ST)" (12/2013)

Bid on this bottle of 1992 Domaine Carneros "Le Rêve" Carneros Sparkling Wine (91WS). Wine Spectator: "A bright bubbly, with tangy lemon and mineral notes up front. It's firm and focused, yet made in a delicate style. Flavors fan out on the finish, with hints of gooseberry, mint, citrus, apple and pear. A complex wine with staying power. " (07/1998)

Bid on this bottle of 1981 Quarles Harris Late Bottled Vintage Port. Mark Squires shared the following insights about Quarles Harris' LBVs: "Said Rupert Symington (Joint Managing Director, Symington Family Estates) to me: 'We have two distinct approaches to LBV: Warre and Smith Woodhouse, which offer bottle-aged ‘traditional’ LBV’s which are neither fined nor filtered, so that they will age in bottle much like a Vintage Port, but with an earlier maturation due to the extra years in wood. These are bottled after four years in wood. Graham, Dow and Cockburn offer a ‘modern’ style LBV which has been fined to remove sediment and which is bottled at 4/5 years ready to drink.'"
