Whisky Advocate: "A new, and welcome, permanent member of the core Kilchoman range, this comes from a mix of sherry finished and sherry matured whisky. The nose kicks off with a lovely cigar ash note—a cigar club toward the end of the evening—and while there are some dried fruits from the sherry, Kilchoman’s gentle, light character gives energy and lemony lift—shellfish, grass, and herbs. Lovely balance. Rounded, softly fruity, and highly approachable. (DB, Summer 2016)" K&L Notes: The newest full-time release from Kilchoman distillery, located on Scotl...

It's no secret that we're big fans of Kilchoman distillery here at K&L. Our recent visit to the distillery on Islay really opened our eyes to the incredible job they're doing. Kilchoman is a tiny operation. A true farm distillery. But having tasted the new-made spirit right off the still, I can firmly say that, in my opinion, there is no higher quality peated whisky being produced anywhere else. Kilchoman's hands-on style and attention to detail make a world of difference. Every release has been better than the last, albeit extremely limited in supply. T...

93 points Whisky Advocate: "This was distilled in 2012 and matured in 43 red wine casks that had been shaved, toasted, and recharred, hence ‘STR.’ The nose offers rich, creamy, medicinal peat, sea salt, vanilla, and loganberries. Sweet berry notes and caramel on the slick palate, then peat gathers momentum, with cinnamon and tangy citrus fruits. The finish features barbecue smoke, chili, and black pepper. (GS, Fall 2019)" K&L Notes: A creation of the late Dr. Jim Swan, STR refers to a specific formula for the "shaving, toasting and re-charring" of casks...

This Small Batch Vatting, exclusively available in the USA, combines ex-bourbon barrel and ex-sherry cask matured Kilchoman at 46% ABV with one one specially selected Port Cask at natural cask strength. The cask influence breakdown is 70% bourbon, 5% sherry, and 25% port. The result is a marriage of citrus and peat smoke notes with layers of red currents, fresh vanilla pods and dark chocolate. Batch No. 1 yielded only 1,260 bottles.

91 points Whisky Advocate: "Sweet fruity peat, new leather, cinnamon, and ginger on the nose. Good blend of smoke and sherry on the substantial palate, with peppery red berries, dark chocolate, and peat. The long smoky finish features lively fruit spices. (GS, Fall 2019)" K&L Notes: From the producer: "Loch Gorm is our annually released sherry matured limited edition. The loch, murky and peaty in colour, reflects the dark coppery tone of the sherry matured Loch Gorm release, the only release in our range to be fully matured in sherry casks (from filling...

It's no secret that we're big fans of Kilchoman distillery here at K&L. Our recent visit to the distillery on Islay really opened our eyes to the incredible job they're doing. Kilchoman is a tiny operation, producing on one still and malting whatever they can inside their humble barn. Because of their small scale, cost of production is higher and prices for their whisky have not been inexpensive. But having tasted the new-make spirit right off the still, we can firmly say that, in our opinion, there is no higher quality peated whisky being produced anywh...
