Distillation of eau de vie at Chateau Ravignan dates back officially to at least 1791 during the French Revolution, but by historical account back to 1731. From Darroze: 47% Ugni Blanc, 33% Colombard. Nice golden color. Brilliant. Fruits flame into this very fresh nose: dried apricot, candied orange peel, melon jam, white peach. Fine spices accompany the fruits. On the palate, the tannins are fine and delicate. We find this freshness and this fruit so delicate. Long in the mouth.
