Coralie Onde is from the winemaking family behind Domaine les Ondines, but opted to start her own project independent of her family estate in 2008. She formed Domaine de la Ganse in Vacqueyras when she purchased some terrific old vine fruit, also taking a small holding when the family estate was split. With close to 9 hectares now, Coralie began the organic certification process and was officially certified in 2014. Her vines are aged from 15 to 55 years and the soils are primarily chalky-clay with some galet (river stones). The 2017 is about 70% Grenach...

Robert Parker has consistently praised Manfred and Elaine Kankl, and his feelings toward the 2002 vintage were no exception. In 2006, he said, "Longtime readers know that I consider these offerings to be about as remarkable as New World wines can be." And in 2011: "His meticulous craftsmanship and phenomenal attention to detail, both in the vineyard and in the winery, have been increasingly noticeable over the last decade. He seemed to hit full stride about eight or nine years ago, and what has unfolded since then is an absolutely brilliant succession of...

From the winery: "A family estate for five generations, we still have one bottle of 1847 Muscat that demonstrates just how old it is. We started making wine at the beginning of the 19th Century at Domaine des Bernardins. The property was previously owned by Bernardin monks before being transformed into a wine estate. Mr Louis Castaud was the first one to show real concern about how the village's traditional production had almost disappeared and achieved appellation status for Muscat de Beaumes de Venise in 1945 after 10 years of hard work. His family wer...

96 points Wine & Spirits: "In the world of wine, rosé has it easy: If it’s pink and pretty, it’s already on its way to being well accepted. Rarely does a rosé jump out of the glass and demand attention. But this one seems to have packaged up a Mediterranean breeze along with the scents of strawberries and garrigue, unleashing it with every sip. My nine-year-old, doing her own independent appraising, said, "It smells warm-not like the wine is warm, but like it comes from a warm place." That place is inland from the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, 345 acres of stony...

Bid on this 6-half-bottle lot of 2001 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (375ml) (96JD, 96JS, 96RP, 93WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Beaucastel has been on a terrific qualitative roll over the last four vintages... This inky/ruby/purple-colored cuvee offers a classic Beaucastel bouquet of new saddle leather, cigar smoke, roasted herbs, black truffles, underbrush, and blackberry as well as cherry fruit. It is a superb, earthy expression of this Mourvedre-dominated cuvee. (RP)" (02/2004)

Bid on this half-bottle lot of 2002 Sine Qua Non "E" California Rosé (375ml). He seemed to hit full stride about eight or nine years ago, and what has unfolded since then is an absolutely brilliant succession of true works of genius, both in his expressive, sometimes slightly abstract artwork on the labels, to the meticulously crafted wood boxes in which the wines are housed. Of course, the most important thing of all, the actual wine itself, is both the beginning as well as the end for consumers, and where 100% of my focus and judgement are centered."
