Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Sine Qua Non "Stock & Stein" Central Coast MagnumTasting Lot (OWC), including 1-bottle of 2012 Sine Qua Non "Stein" Central Coast Grenache (1.5L) (97RP, (95-97VN)) and 1-bottle of 2012 Sine Qua Non "Stock" Central Coast Syrah (1.5L) (98RP, 96VN). Of the 2012 Sine Qua Non "Stock" Central Coast Syrah (1.5L),Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "A step up from the Grenache, the blockbuster-styled 2012 Syrah Stock checks in as a blend of 84% Syrah, 7% Grenache, 6% Petit Sirah, and the rest Viognier and Mourvedre, that was fermented with 32% whole clusters and aged in just over half new French oak. It offers stunning notes of blackcurrants, cassis, smoked meats, ground pepper and wild herbs to go with a full-bodied, unctuous, layered, yet always graceful and elegant feel on the palate. Nicely structured, with perfect overall balance, it still has the open-knit character of the vintage, yet has plenty of underlying structure, which at the moment is slightly

Bid on this magnum of 2017 Next Of Kyn (Sine Qua Non) "Numero Tres" Central Coast Touriga Nacional (1.5L) (98RP, (95-97VN)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This cuvée comes entirely from the Krankl’s “home” vineyard—the Cumulus vineyard—from a small, one-acre 2008 planting. The 2017 Touriga Nacional Numero Tres is a blend of 80% Touriga Nacional, 8% Petite Sirah, 6% Syrah and 6% Grenache using 44% whole clusters. It spent around 33 months in French oak barrels, 60% new. Very deep garnet-purple, the nose is a little reticent to begin, offering broody tar, new leather and fertile loam suggestions before giving way to come-hither scents of baked black plums, blackberry pie, dark chocolate, candied violets, pencil lead, menthol and dried roses. The first thing that hits you on the decadent, full-bodied palate is the texture—like stroking a kitten in your mouth. Wonderful freshness electrifies the bright, crunchy black fruits, developing into a long-lingering perfumed finish. Stunning! Wh

Bid on this magnum of 1995 Calon-Ségur, St-Estèphe (1.5L) (96JS, 95WS, 94RP). James Suckling: "I always loved this wine from the first time I tasted it in 1998. It has such purity and power yet it's reserved and beautiful. It's one of the best Calons ever. I drank a bottle with some friends in Manhattan last week and it was the wine of the evening. It was full-bodied with silky tannins and a focused and intense finish. Lots of currant and berry character and hints of dried spices. It's finally opening up and giving real pleasure now like so many 1995 Bordeaux at the moment." (06/2016)
Starting Bid: $270.00

Bid on this magnum of 1997 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (95VN, 94RP, 93WE, 93WS). Vinous: "Saturated ruby-red. Multidimensional nose offers a panoply of scents: black plum, currant, leather, smoked meat, cigar ash, lead pencil, sandalwood, dark chocolate, licorice, brown sugar. Very bright and sharply defined; flavors of plum, leather, hot stones and lead pencil. An impeccably balanced wine of compelling sweetness, but rather dominated today by its structure. Strong, thoroughly ripe tannins spread out to coat the entire palate. Very long and subtle. (ST)" (05/2000)

Bid on this magnum of 2017 Next of Kyn (Sine Qua Non) "Cumulus Vineyard No. 11'' Central Coast Red Blend (1.5L) (97RP, (94-96VN)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Next of Kyn is the label of Elaine and Manfred Krankl (owners/creators of Sine Qua Non), based entirely on fruit from their home vineyard in Oakville, called Cumulus vineyard. This 2017 vintage is composed of 48% Syrah, 24.8% Grenache, 10.6% Petite Sirah, 12.7% Mourvèdre, 1.7% Roussanne and 2.2% Petit Manseng, using 23% whole clusters. It spent around 32 months in French oak barrels, 68% new. The deep garnet-purple colored 2017 Cumulus Vineyard No. 11 prances out of the glass with fragrant, provocative scents of cinnamon stick, potpourri, dusty soil and pencil shavings over an emerging core of wild blueberries, Morello cherries, baked black plums and mulberries plus a suggestion of incense. Full-bodied, the palate is both voluptuous and elegant, with refreshing acidity and super-plush tannins making this so tempting to drink
Starting Bid: $450.00

Bid on this magnum of 2013 Opus One Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (100JS, 97RP, 97VN). James Suckling: "The greatest Opus ever. Terrific aromas of crushed black currants, blueberries and flowers with hints of sweet tobacco. Roses continue to exude opulence and class. Full body, superb balance of ultra-fine tannins and vibrant acidity. Complex aftertaste of black fruits and citrus fruit. Extremely persistent. So approachable now and enjoyable. But will be even better in 2019 and beyond. 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot, 2% Malbec. This will always be beautiful to drink." (09/2016)

Bid on this magnum of 2012 Myriad "Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard - Elysian Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (OWC - 99RP, (92-94ST), 93VN, 93WS, 92JS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard Elysian Reserve is certainly a puff and a whisper away from pure perfection. Absolutely compelling Cabernet Sauvignon (100% of that varietal), the wine has an opaque purple color, a beautiful set of aromatics that include a spring flower garden, blueberry, mulberry and blackberry fruit, a glorious display of fruit, flawlessly integrated wood tannin, alcohol and acidity. The finish goes on for a good 40-50 seconds. These are not wimpish wines at 15.1% alcohol, but that’s well-concealed, and makes a mockery of the high-octane, anti-alcohol, pleasure police who would rather pontificate than actually taste. This is a modern-day classic and a tour de force. … I found it hard to spit this one out. (RP)" (10/2014)

Bid on this magnum of 2005 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (98RP, 95JS, 95VN, 92CG, 92WE, 91W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot (note that rarely is any Merlot utilized at the historic Napanook Estate in Yountville). The alcohol, by California standards, is a relatively modest 14.1%. Blending the best of French savoir faire with the brilliant fruit purity and ripeness of Napa Valley, Moueix has turned in another tour de force that seems far superior today than it did when it was first released. This is one of the vintage’s greatest wines. Dense purple and youthful, with a glorious nose of earth, blackcurrants, sweet black cherries and incense, the oak is pushed way in the background, as it is in all of the Moueix wines, and the result is a wine of terroir, of great originality and authenticity. This full-bodied classic from Dominus can be drunk now, but really won’t hit its prime for another 4-5 yea

Bid on this magnum of 2010 Bond "Vecina" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (OWC - 99RP, 98VN, 94JS, 93WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another wine flirting with perfection is the 2010 Vecina, the nearby neighbor of Harlan Estate on the western hills overlooking the Oakville Corridor, and further south, Yountville. A Graves-like effort, it displays notes of burning embers, scorched earth, creme de cassis, and charcoal. Primordial, dense, rich, full-bodied, masculine and backward, this is another example of a wine built for half a century of cellaring. Forget it for 7-10 years and watch the pleasure unfold thereafter. (RP)" (10/2013)
Starting Bid: $505.00

Bid on this magnum of 2010 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (97WE, 96VN, 95RP, 94CG, 94WS, 93JS). Wine Enthusiast: "This is, as always, a gorgeous wine, rich, balanced and delicious. It shows classic Napa Valley ripeness, with blackberry jam, plum, dark chocolate and sweet oak flavors. Plush and velvety doesn’t begin to do it justice. Despite its fabulous lushness, this is a wine to age. Depending on your taste, it will provide excellence from now until 2030. *Cellar Selection*" (12/2013)

Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2010 Mark Herold "Herold by Mark Herold" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (97RP, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "In most vintages there are less than 200 cases of the top cuvee, the Cabernet Sauvignon Herold by Mark Herold. The 2010 is another 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, in this case from both the Coombsville and Oakville AVAs. A massive Cabernet, it offers plenty of blueberry, blackberry and cassis fruit intertwined with hints of incense, charcoal, graphite and toasty oak. This full-bodied effort is very much in the style of the Merus Cabernet Sauvignons that first launched Mark Herold’s career as a winemaker. This big, balls-to-the-walls style of Cabernet is not for everybody, but it exhibits exceptional purity, richness and length. It should drink well for two decades or more. Mark Herold, a well-known consultant, first came to my attention because of the brilliant wines he produced under the name Merus, a brand that has been sold. He now fashio

Bid on this magnum of 2014 Rhys "Porcupine Hill" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir (1.5L) (95RP, 94JG, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Coming from the high density plantings done by the team at Rhys (it's also a cellar selection as well), the 2014 Pinot Noir Porcupine Hill Bearwallow Vineyard is another best to date cuvee and is easily the most concentrated and lengthy of the three cuvees from this site. Black raspberries, black cherries, tons of minerality and ground herbs emerge from this young, tight and beautifully focused red that needs 3-4 years of cellaring and will drink beautifully over the following decade or more. (JD)" (10/2016)
Starting Bid: $150.00

Bid on this magnum of 2012 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (97JD, 97JS, 96RP, 96VN, 95CG, 95WE, 93WS). James Suckling: "Amazing aromas of blueberry, blackberry, mineral and bark. Complex nose. Full body plus super integrated tannins with superb balance and depth. Coffee and chocolate too. Very long and mind-bending. A tribute to the vintage. Drink or hold. A long life ahead of it. " (07/2015)

Bid on this magnum of 1980 Freemark Abbey Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L). Freemark Abbey boasts that they have "the most extensive collection of library Cabernets of any Napa Valley winery," and the 1980 is the oldest release available from their library. But the 750ml tops $100, making this magnum (the better choice for aging this delicate, underrated vintage from among Napa's top producers in the 1980s) a fine choice.
Starting Bid: $90.00

Bid on this magnum of 2006 Merus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (93JS, 92RP, 92ST, 92WS, 91CG). James Suckling: "This is really powerful on the nose, with reduced aromas of blackberries, raspberries and cherries. Full bodied, with loads of velvety tannins and a thick, jammy after taste. But it's balanced and pretty. Give it two to three years of bottle age. " (02/2011)
Starting Bid: $155.00

Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2013 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (96JS, 96RP, 94VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An absolute stunner is the 2013 Proprietary Red Wine, a blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 6% Malbec and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. This is all mountain fruit from primarily the Stagecoach Vineyard and another site in Rancho Chimiles. Beautiful floral, smoky, blackcurrant notes mixed with acacia flowers and forest floor jump from the glass of this dense, full-bodied, concentrated and age-worthy wine. Like most 2013s, this is a 30-year wine with remarkable concentration, color and fruit extract. Forget it for another 3-4 years, and drink it over the following 30+ years. (RP)" (12/2016)
Starting Bid: $440.00

Bid on this magnum of 2005 David Arthur "Elevation 1147" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L). The Elevation 1147 is David Arthur's grand vin--the best of all the lots of Bordeaux varietals grown at this Pritchard Hills estate. The 2005 includes 7% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc in the blend, which add depth, color and texture. Briar fruit, kirsch, violet and sage aromas lead to an opulent palate full of mocha, olive and black currant. The tannins are abundant but polished, but need some air or cellar time to resolve.

Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2014 Sea Smoke "Southing" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir (1.5L) (92WE, 91WS). Wine Enthusiast: "Crisp boysenberry and black raspberry aromas meet with lthyme, oregano and a touch of caramelization on the nose of this Sea Smoke bottling. Dark cranberry fruit shows on the palate, lifted by anise, pepper and an array of herbs, all framed by a leathery texture. (MK)" (04/2017)
Starting Bid: $210.00

Bid on this magnum of 2005 Merus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (96RP, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A 1,000-case blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Petit Verdot and Malbec, the wine is dense purple-colored to the rim, with an exquisite nose of charcoal, graphite, and blackberry liqueur. Full-bodied, with great power, richness, and sensational length, this wine will benefit from 4-5 years of bottle-age and last three decades. (RP) 96+" (12/2007)
Starting Bid: $205.00

Bid on this magnum of 1997 Joseph Phelps "Backus" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (93RP, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From a hillside overlooking the Oakville District, Phelps produces small quantities of their single vineyard Backus Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, which is aged in 100% new French Taransaud oak. The sensational 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon Backus Vineyard is a muscular, highly-extracted, full-bodied effort that requires 3-4 years of cellaring. Although not very approachable, it displays great fruit intensity in its huge, thick, viscous flavors redolent with black currants, new saddle leather, spice box, and toasty oak. Long, powerful, and intense, it exhibits both sweet tannin and immense concentration. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2025. (RP)" (12/2000)

Bid on this 1.5 liter 1-bottle lot of 2000 Far Niente Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L). A classically structured Cabernet that is soft in texture, rich in flavor, complex and long. Starting Bid: $200.00

Bid on this magnum of 2018 Kongsgaard "The Judge" Napa Valley Chardonnay (1.5L) ((97-99RP), (95-97VN)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Chardonnay The Judge (a barrel sample) leaps from the glass with vivacious notes of mandarin peel, lemongrass and lime leaves with a core of fresh pink grapefruit, green guava and apple blossom plus wafts of shaved almonds and wet pebbles. Full-bodied, the palate delivers a powerful core of tropical fruit and savory layers with a lively line of freshness and a pleasantly oily texture, finishing long and zesty. Very pure, very delineated and wonderfully chalky at the very end. (LPB) 97-99+" (11/2019)
Starting Bid: $727.88

Bid on this magnum of 2004 Podere il Carnasciale "Il Caberlot" Toscana (1.5L) (95RP, 95VN, 93WS). Vinous: "The flagship 2004 Il Caberlot is another wine that has put considerable depth in bottle. Rich, layered and exceptionally beautiful, the 2004 impresses for tis overall balance, class and symmetry. The intensely savory notes that were present when the wine was young are now beautifully integrated with the fruit. This is a beautiful, essential vintage that tells so much about Il Caberlot and its potential. (AG)" (08/2013)
Starting Bid: $135.00

Bid on this 1.5 liter 2-bottle lot of 2004 Lopez de Heredia "Viña Tondonia" Reserva (1.5L) (96W&S, 94JG, 94JS, 94RP, 93VN). Wine & Spirits: "A great vintage of this classic wine, this reveals its sunny beauty over the course of days. Open the bottle and you might taste tart lemon, juicy almond and touches of oxidation, bringing to mind wood oils. Those flavors integrate with air so that the wine saturates the palate with freshness, the scent turned heady, toward croissants and almond blossoms, the flavors savory, salty and bright. This family-run winery farms prime Rioja Alta sites along the Ebro River, aging this estate-grown wine in cool riverside tunnels in their cellar in Haro. Tondonia Reserva spends six years in old barrels, racked twice a year, then continues aging in bottle prior to release. Over that time, the wine seems to gain resilience, though you will not get the full benefit of this white unless you give it plenty of air. Leave it in a decanter and it gives off the energ

Bid on this magnum of 2016 Harlan "Estate" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (100JD, 100JS, 100RP, 98VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Harlan Estate comes charging out of the glass, brandishing bold, opulent blackberry pie, warm cassis and blueberry preserves notes with hints of cigar box, Indian spices, crushed rocks and forest floor plus fragrant accents of lavender and black tea. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is built like a brick house, with a solid line of super ripe, grainy tannins and oodles of freshness supporting the layer upon layer of savory and earth-inspired notions, finishing on a lingering mineral note. Impressively structured, incredibly nuanced and possessing all this latent tension, this brazen beauty is set to live for a good 60 years and possibly more! (LPB)" (09/2019)

Bid on this magnum of 1994 Chapoutier "De L'Orée" Ermitage Blanc (1.5L) (OWC - 99RP) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine boasts a huge, flowery, super rich nose that is almost the essence of minerals and ripe fruit. Extremely powerful, full-bodied, and unctuously textured, this staggeringly great white Hermitage should last for 30-50 + years. (RP)" (12/1996)

Bid on this magnum of 1995 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (98RP, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A wine of great intensity and richness, it displays classic notes of licorice, barbecue smoke, creme de cassis, cedarwood and forest floor. Full-bodied with sensational purity, a multidimensional mouthfeel and a long, voluptuous finish with no hard edges, it has only reached mid-adolescence, and has at least two decades of life ahead of it. (RP)" (11/2013)
Starting Bid: $285.00

Bid on this magnum of 2014 Promise Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L). Vinous: "Steve McPherson left behind a successful career as television executive to focus on his dream of making world-class wine. Promise emerges from a plot in Rich Frank’s Winston Hill vineyard in Rutherford. The wine spends about 30 months in new French oak barrels. There is no shortage of boutique wineries in Napa Valley, but Promise is the real deal. (AG)" (12/2012)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The very nearly completed (being prepped for bottling in July 2019) 10th installment of this incredible “home” vineyard expression from Sine Qua Non’s Cumulus vineyard knocks it out of the park. The Next of Kin 2016 Cumulus Vineyard No. 10 is composed of 46% Syrah, 19% Grenache, 18.3% Petite Sirah, 15.3% Mourvedre and 1.4% Petit Manseng, using 23% whole clusters. It will have spent around 34 months in French oak barrels, 75% new. (LPB)" (06/2019)

Bid on this magnum of 2018 Schrader "Old Sparky - Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) 1-Pack in OWC (OWC - 99JS) in original wood. James Suckling: "A great expression of cabernet sauvignon. Full-bodied with notes of crushed berries and nuts. Well balanced, with great quality to the tannins and pleasant acidity. The structure and texture are in harmony, leading to a long, flavorful finish. Shows wonderful length and beauty. Goes on and on. Needs at least five years to mellow. Try after 2025." (12/2020)

Bid on this magnum of 2010 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (OWC - 100JS, 100VN, 98RP, 98ST, 96WS) in original wood. Vinous: "The 2010 Harlan Estate is a total head-turner. Powerful, dense and exotically ripe – as so many wines are in this vintage – the 2010 dazzles with magnificent intensity. Baritone inflections run through the black cherry, graphite, smoke, tar and licorice flavors. Heat spikes at the end of what was generally a cold growing season yielded wines that bring together structure and fruit density. (AG)" (09/2017)

Bid on this 1.5 liter 3-bottle lot of 2012 Bosquet des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1.5L) (97DC). Decanter: "At eight years after vintage, this is showing soft and approachable, with a lovely sense of freshness. It's still a little closed for now, so I would wait until at least 2022 before opening, but there is a bright, buzzing effect on the palate and great length, with orange peel on the tail. Tannins are a little more serious and squared off than some vintages. (MW)_" (10/2020)
Starting Bid: $205.00

Bid on this magnum of 2004 Merus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (96RP, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This boutique blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot and 2% Malbec is a broodingly backward, formidably endowed, full throttle, pedal-to-the-metal style of Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2004’s 15.5% alcohol is well-concealed by the wine’s wealth of fruit and glycerin. This full-bodied beauty is black as a moonless night. It exhibits abundant notes of plums, blackberries and creme de cassis as well as nicely integrated wood, acidity and tannin. It will offer an impeccable well-made, stunningly rich, complex, two-fisted glass of Cabernet Sauvignon over the next 15+ years. (RP) 96+" (04/2014)
Starting Bid: $210.00

Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2011 Mark Herold "Uproar" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L). Vinous: "Dark red berries, menthol, cloves, licorice and blackberry jam all jump from the glass in the 2011 Uproar. The 2011 shows fabulous intensity and depth, but at the same time, the tannins are a bit dry, especially on the finish. Ideally Uproar is best enjoyed over the next few years. Uproar is essentially made from barrels that don't make the cut from Herold's top Cabernet Sauvignons. (AG)" (11/2013)

Bid on this magnum of 1977 Smith Woodhouse Vintage Port (1.5L) (96WS). Wine Spectator: "Great dark color. Intense aromas of blackberry, stem and earth. Very powerful and youthful nose. Full-bodied and medium-sweet, with lots of milk chocolate, spice and berry character. Layered and balanced. So enjoyable. But just a baby. I remember this 10 years ago. It is really fantastic. Underrated by many, including me. (Web-2008)"
Starting Bid: $175.00

Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2010 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (95RP, 94VN, 92WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Mocha, espresso, cloves and blackberry jam are some of many nuances that emerge from the 2010 Red Blend. A deep, rich wine, the 2010 boasts stunning aromatics, beautifully chiseled fruit and fabulous overall balance. I sense a slightly less sweet, overt style than in previous years, yet at the same time, there is plenty of richness in the glass. I suspect the 2010 will still be going strong at age 20. Today, it is flat-out gorgeous. The 2010 is 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec. (AG) 95+" (12/2012)
Starting Bid: $390.00

Bid on this magnum of 2004 Harlan Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (OWC - 98RP, 98WE, 98WS, 95VN) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another rating identical to that which was given in 2007 (when first tasted from bottle), the 2004 Harlan Estate is performing essentially the way I suggested in 2007 as it is one of the more precocious and accessible of the Harlan Estate wines to date. A great showing at this retrospective, this wine, which seems like a hypothetical blend of a Pauillac, St.-Estephe and Graves, represents around 1,500 cases from 40 acres of beautifully manicured hillside vineyards overlooking Oakville. Still dense purple to the rim, with notes of creme de cassis, charcoal, blackberry and sweet toast, the wine is full-bodied and voluptuously textured with the tannins largely resolved. But the density and richness suggest this wine can go a long, long way, even though the window for drinking it seems open and inviting already. A world-class, first-growth win
Starting Bid: $1,200.00

Bid on this magnum of 2010 Felsina "Rancia" Chianti Classico Riserva (1.5L) (95RP, 95VN, 93WE, 91WS). Vinous: "Bright, fully saturated red. Knockout nose combines raspberry, minerals, sweet spices and violet; the most ethereal nose of any Rancia since the 2006 vintage. Juicy, pure and precise if youthfully tight, offering lovely inner-mouth energy and perfume to the complex flavors of red berries enlivened by orange peel, sweet spices and flowers. Finishes very long and brisk, with juicy acidity that leaves the taste buds vibrating. An absolute beauty, and much less marked by the tobacco, tar and inky notes that have characterized some recent Rancia vintages. For example, even though 2009 and 2010 are both potentially outstanding vintages for Chianti Classico, there is simply no comparison between this wine and the Rancia 2009. (ID)" (09/2014)
Starting Bid: $115.55

Bid on this magnum of 2015 Next of Kyn (Sine Qua Non) "Cumulus Vineyard No. 9'' Central Coast Red Blend (1.5L) (99RP, 99VN, 98JD). Vinous: "The 2015 No. 9 Cumulus Vineyard is off the charts gorgeous, just as it was from barrel last year. Tasted from bottle, the 2009 is a bit closed, but all the aromatic depth, soaring intensity and energy that it showed from barrel is there. Time in the glass brings out the wine’s sensational pedigree. Dark cherry jam, mocha, grilled herbs and leather are some of the many notes that develop with time, but it is the wine’s overall structure that truly elevates into the realm of the divine. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Paradise Hills Vineyard (1,200 cases) reveals a chocolatey espresso roast note with mocha, blackberry and cassis, high tannins, but full body, superb concentration, purity, and an almost Graves-like scorched earth character. This wine needs 3-4 years of bottle age, and should last 25-30 years. (RP)" (12/2007)
