Bid on this magnum of 2017 Next Of Kyn (Sine Qua Non) "Numero Tres" Central Coast Touriga Nacional (1.5L) (98RP, (95-97VN)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This cuvée comes entirely from the Krankl’s “home” vineyard—the Cumulus vineyard—from a small, one-acre 2008 planting. The 2017 Touriga Nacional Numero Tres is a blend of 80% Touriga Nacional, 8% Petite Sirah, 6% Syrah and 6% Grenache using 44% whole clusters. It spent around 33 months in French oak barrels, 60% new. Very deep garnet-purple, the nose is a little reticent to begin, offering broody tar, new leather and fertile loam suggestions before giving way to come-hither scents of baked black plums, blackberry pie, dark chocolate, candied violets, pencil lead, menthol and dried roses. The first thing that hits you on the decadent, full-bodied palate is the texture—like stroking a kitten in your mouth. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Coming from the high density plantings done by the team at Rhys (it's also a cellar selection as well), the 2014 Pinot Noir Porcupine Hill Bearwallow Vineyard is another best to date cuvee and is easily the most concentrated and lengthy of the three cuvees from this site. Black raspberries, black cherries, tons of minerality and ground herbs emerge from this young, tight and beautifully focused red that needs 3-4 years of cellaring and will drink beautifully over the following decade or more. Gargiulo Vineyards is a small family-owned winery located in the Oakville sub-region of California’s Napa Valley. The family dedicates themselves to smaller case productions of premium wines from their two best vineyards, Money Road Ranch and the 575 OVX, both located in Oakville. Opened since January 2007, the tasting room sits on a small knoll overlooking the vineyard for some of California’s most expensive wine, Screaming Eagle. The winery was founded by longtime farmer Jeff Gargiulo who works with his wife, daughter, and son in law.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Mocha, espresso, cloves and blackberry jam are some of many nuances that emerge from the 2010 Red Blend. A deep, rich wine, the 2010 boasts stunning aromatics, beautifully chiseled fruit and fabulous overall balance. I sense a slightly less sweet, overt style than in previous years, yet at the same time, there is plenty of richness in the glass. I suspect the 2010 will still be going strong at age 20. Today, it is flat-out gorgeous. The 2010 is 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec. (AG) 95+" (12/2012)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1988 Maya, made from a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Cabernet Franc, has a dense, very opaque black/purple color, a huge bouquet of super-ripe cassis, licorice, and vanillin aromas, followed by astonishingly intense, highly extracted, impeccably well-balanced, full-bodied flavors. The bad news is that only 200 cases were produced, so latching onto a bottle or two will not be easy. It should drink well over the next 20-25 years, probably longer. (RP)" (10/1993)

It exhibits a black/purple color and a reticent but promising nose of minerals, smoke, black currants, and underbrush. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the deep garnet-purple colored 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Incubo takes some coaxing to reveal beautifully perfumed notes of lilacs, eucalyptus, chocolate box and unsmoked cigars with a core of blackcurrant cordial and plum puddling plus a hint of pencil lead.
