Wine Enthusiast: "Moderate in acidity and midweight in ripeness and power, this offers lush flavors of caramel and baked apple before finishing simply and without much fuss. (VB)" (12/2018)
Price: $19.95

92 points Bob Campbell: "Quite a serious sauvignon with good weight and a pleasingly rich texture. A hint of tropical fruit with melon, nectarine and nutty yeast lees flavours. Dry but not austere. A good food wine. 11/5/2019" (05/2019) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Offers an appealing core of intense, lush flavors of ripe melon and peach, with details of white pepper, honeysuckle and ruby grapefruit lingering on the finish. Impressive for the intensity and focus. Drink now. - MW" (09/2019) K&L Notes: #60 on Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of 2019 Found...

2017 Chateau de la Maltroye Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru "Chenevottes"
91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "(from Chenevottes proper). Background hints of matchstick and sulfur are present on the riper aromas of both white and yellow orchard fruit that exhibit whiffs of citrus zest and floral nuances. The lush, rich and enveloping medium weight flavors possess good volume if not necessarily great mid-palate density, all wrapped in a seductively textured and bone dry finish. This could use a bit more overall depth but the underlying material appears to be present for that to occur. Worth checking out." (06/2019) 89-91 poi...

Wine Spectator: "Floral hints accent the snappy white fruit and citrus flavors. Taut midpalate, with a finish that lingers with details of fennel and shiso leaf. (MK)" (07/2019)
Price: $19.95

Wine Enthusiast: "This natural wine, bottled from the lees, is textured, with a yeasty character. Ripe apple and pear flavors are full bodied and lifted by just enough acidity. The wine's richness and concentration will allow it to age further, so drink from late 2019. (RV)" (10/2019) K&L Notes: Bedouet is one of our favorite Muscadet producers. Switching to organics a few years ago, they are also trying their hand at making some low intervention cuvées. Seeing a bit of skin contact and minimal SO2 added for stability, the "Cogito" is a superb rendit...

Trebbiano Spoletino is a genetically distinct variety that has been grown in Umbria for generations, where it's known for its bright acidity and complexity. Uniquely, it is grown in vineyards with maple trees, using the trunks as support and stringing the vines between trees. The Antonelli Spoletino is hand-harvested, generally in late October, and sees fermentation and lees aging in large oak barrels.

Marta Castro produces this tasty Albariño from vines located in the Salnes Valley town of Ribadumia, just a bit inland from Cambados. Given 5 months of lees ageing in the tank, this is an albariño with juicy stone fruit flavors, a round texture and well balanced acidity. Delicious, representative and good value in Albariño.

91-94 points Vinous: "(Cournut describes these old vines--60 years old, on average--as 'the best expression of Morgeot,' adding that they produce a fatter style of wine): Complex, inviting aromas of white peach, lemon and minerals. Intense flavors of fresh peach and apricot show a lovely supple texture as well as firm supporting minerality, with a note of sweet oak adding appeal. Finishes sappy, smooth and long, with terrific fruity persistence. I could drink this tonight! Clearly an outstanding vintage for this cuvée. (The Chassagne-Montrachet Clos du C...

Château de la Charrière is one of our most popular direct import producers and a label that easily represents the best bang for your buck we carry in Burgundy. Formerly run by Yves Girardin, the business is now run by his young son Benoit, who definitely has modernized the winemaking a bit since his first vintage in 2011. Whereas the wines were a bit funky and rustic previously, the past few vintages are much cleaner.
Price: $29.99

Wine Enthusiast: "Light, featuring juicy peach and kumquat flavors that finish with lemon-lime notes and herbal flourishes. (KM)" (05/2019) K&L Notes: From one of our most consistently under the radar producers of varietal wine in Chile, this Pinot Gris is delicious: brightly fruited yet with some textural weight, it most resembles Williamette Valley Pinot Gris in style. Very much worth a try to enjoy as an aperitif or with a pan-seared fillet of salmon and sauteed greens with garlic.

Among our favorite new Italian finds, this hails from the region of Valpolicella. Since it’s a white wine, it doesn’t get called Valpolicella. The 2017 Buglioni “Il Disperato” is a lovely Garganega-based white which is crisp, light and chock-full of fresh, tropical fruits. You may be wondering why the folks at Buglioni decided to call it “The Desperate One.” Well, the story is simple: After making the wine, they couldn’t hit on a good name for it. They began calling it “desperate for a name,” and the nickname stuck. It’s such a perfect match for summer, ...

92 points James Suckling: "Aromas of sliced apple, apricot and pear follow through to a full body, bright acidity and a stone, slate and light sea salt aftertaste. Solid white. Drink now. " (10/2017) 90 points Wine Enthusiast: "A pleasantly fruity hint of russet-pear peel hits the nose first, followed by notes of lemon. Likewise, the palate combines tart freshness and fruity juiciness. The light palate is brisk and dry, showing a clean finish, with just a touch of zestiness." (09/2017) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Riesling Zöbing is a med...

From the winery: "Lush, immediately approachable and undeniably delicious, Luke’s Grove is often our Chardonnay ambassador for EK newbies and long timers alike. While we continue to fine-tune it in the vineyards and the cellar, it remains a quintessential Russian River Valley illustration of this varietal and our most widely popular since we introduced it way back in 2004. Now mostly comprised of Stiling Vineyard fruit, we chose to pick this vineyard in several stages to provide both ripeness and natural acidity. A small 4% addition of Fallenleaf Vineya...

From the producer: "Our vineyards were harvested early to capture optimum flavour ripeness while ensuring that less natural sugar was produced to convert into alcohol in this lower alcohol wine. The fruit from each vineyard was kept separate throughout the winemaking process to ensure integrity of each site and to provide the greatest possible number of blending combinations. The fruit was gently pressed, cold settled, racked and cool fermented with selected yeast strains to enhance the unique aromatics and flavours. After fermentation, the wines remaine...

Wine Enthusiast: "This is a fruity and fresh-tasting wine that's light to medium in body, very aromatic and has flavors like a fruit salad of apples, melons and peaches with a dash of lemon juice. All that fruitiness verges on sweetness, so dry-wine stalwarts beware. (JG)" (11/2018) Wine Spectator: "Appealing lemon, peach and melon notes are smooth and juicy, with a refreshing thread of acidity and a pleasant touch of celery leaf. Drink now. (MW)" (02/2019)

2018 Nigl "Freiheit" Grüner Veltliner Kremstal Niederösterreich
Wine Enthusiast: "The nose combines subtle yeast with notes of ripe pear peel. The palate adds lemony highlights that dominate the slender and ever so slightly savory palate. This is dry and refreshing." (07/2019)

Honorío Rubio "Añadas Saca 2018" Blanco Rioja
Top Pick!
Honorío Rubio is a Riojano white wine specialist. In a land best known for its incredibly age-worthy reds, among many die-hards out there it is undoubtedly the traditional whites which represent Rioja's finest and most original wines. These days, outside of Lopez de Heredia (whose whites are increasingly rare in the market) and the odd older bottles of Ygay Blanco, traditional white Rioja is tough to find. That's why we are so excited to be selling the wines of our newest DI producer, Honorío Rubio. Based in the high-altitude Rioja Alta village of Cordov...

A family owned winery first established in 1928, Peter Zemmer has built its reputation on producing wines from some of the finest estates in and around Cortina s.s.d.v. in Alto Adige of South Tyrol. According to the winery, the "Caprile" Muller Thurgau is produced with grapes growing at "an elevation of 800 m. (2,500 ft.) on well-arranged terraced slopes of the Lowlands. The favourable altitude of the vineyards on limestone soils, the gentle slope of the hillside, and ideal sunshine give the grapes of this varietal an excellent maturation."

Monica Larner writes: "This winery was founded in the 1960s by a dentist named Piero Mancini who had a deep passion for wine. The estate grew over the next two decades to its current 70-hectare size. It has vineyards that look towards the Olbia Gulf in the Gallura district in northern Sardinia. Today, the winery is run by Piero's wife Marisa and their children Laura, Antonio and Alessandro."

Jan Holtermann, the founder of Alma Fria, worked in his family's wine importing business in his native Costa Rica for decades before moving his family to start the winery of his dreams. The name is meant to evoke "the West Sonoma Coast’s windswept Pacific climate, up-lifted coastal mountains, and towering ancient redwoods converge in Alma Fria’s elegant Pinot Noir and Chardonnay."

Mer Soleil Chardonnay is brought to you by the Wagner family, founders of Caymus in Napa Valley. This reserve bottling is full-bodied and aged in French oak, although only a portion undergoes malolactic fermentation so that a bright acidity is retained.

Impressive for its purity and refreshing mineral qualities, Valle dell'Acate takes the Insolia varietal to a whole new level of quality. As a second label, the Case Ibidini range (pronounced 'bidini) consists of varietally labeled wines from the estate intended for more casual consumption. The local name of the area where the estate is situated, Bidini, is drawn from the ancient root Bidis. This in turn referred to the name of a group of early Hellenic settlers who populated the area nearly 20 centuries ago. These wines provide a purity and authenticity ...

Maison Jacques Bavard is a tiny negociant producer in Puligny-Montrachet. He comes from a long line of winegrowers, and is dedicated to working with organic and biodynamic growers. We found him a few years ago on a tip, and found the balance and freshness of his wines to be most impressive. Thanks to importing his wines directly, we have them available at a very modest price. It's been 20+ years since Christine and Jacques Bavard quit the restaurant business in Paris. They've since returned to Burgundy to devote their lives and time to making beautiful w...

Szöke focuses on white wines made from the grapes of the Olaszrizling (Italian Riesling), Sylvaner, Hárslevelü (Linden-Leaf), Ottonel Muscatel, Tramini, Király Leányka, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, and the oddly named Irsai Oliver. The Szöke family cultivates 50 hectares in the Cserepes and Peresi vineyards. From the importer: "Originally crossed in 1930, the parents of this native grape are Gewürztraminer and Muscat Ottonel. Not surprisingly, it's incredibly perfumed and floral. That said, it's not fat and weighty on the palate like Gewürztraminer can often...

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An unusual blend of 90% Roussanne with 10% Marsanne, the 2017 Saint Peray Grain de Silex is a perennial star. Honeyed orange marmalade on the nose pick up hints of melon and citrus on the fresh, lively finish. Medium to full-bodied, it's weighty on the palate yet turns zesty and refreshing on the finish. (JC)" (12/2018) Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2017 Saint-Péray Grain De Silex is good value and is predominantly Roussanne with 10% Marsanne. It offers lively spiced citrus, lemon, and sappy green herbs notes as well as a ...

93 points Bob Campbell: "Moderately concentrated, tangy and quite herbaceous sauvignon blanc with capsicum, lemongrass and gooseberry flavours with a restrained tropical fruit influence. Nice purity, texture and length" (05/2019) 92 points James Suckling: "This youthful sauvignon has attractive lime-leaf and fresh-herb aromas with passion fruit and a succulent, fine and fresh lime finish. Immediate enjoyment here. " (08/2018) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "This vintage delivers appealing aromas of stone fruit, honeysuckle and wet stone, with only the sl...

2018 Michel Delhommeau "Saint Vincent" Muscadet Sèvre et Maine Sur Lie
Top Pick!
Stephan Reinhardt writes: "It's all natural here, and as you know, ripe and complex wines with moderate alcohol levels are pretty rare on planet wine—there are German Rieslings, Portuguese Vinhos Verdes and there are Muscadets. The ones from Michel Delhommeau belong surely to the most accessible. They do not come from hard and sour granite soils (like most Muscadets and also Vinho Verde), but from molten lava called gabbro. This crystalline soil gives wines of finesse and elegance, but also charm—a character you can rarely find in Muscadets, which tend t...

94 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The first vintage for this cuvée it was created with the idea to improve the quality of the single vineyard. The 2015 Chardonnay Santa Maria Valley is a stunning value that offers classic buttered stone fruits, toasted nuts and honeysuckle in a rich, texture, balanced style. It way over delivers at the price and is a terrific wine. It’s one of the larger production releases as well (536 cases), so hopefully you can find a few bottles." (08/2017) K&L Notes: Peake Ranch Winery is only a few vintages in, but already they're on to s...

90 points Decanter: "Lovely aromas of cream and stone fruit. An easy-going and gentle style which speaks of the appellation with a ripe mango taste and moderate finish. (2019 DWWA)" 90 points Jeb Dunnuck: "A blend of 80% Marsanne and 20% Roussanne, the 2017 Saint Joseph Vania Blanc is light gold-colored and has an attractive bouquet of spiced citrus, peach blossom, sappy herbs, and honeyed minerality. Medium-bodied and lively on the palate, it's balanced and has plenty to love." (12/2019) 88-90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An 80-20 blend of ...

"Creating wines in harmony with nature" is the philosophy of Jean-Noël Millon, seventh-generation family winemaker at this family run estate. Located in the village of Varrains, just a short distance from the town of Saumur, Jean-Noel farms 14 hectares of vineyards biodynamically all planted on the clay-limestone tuffeaux that makes the region so special. The Coulee d'Aunis is 100% Chenin Blanc from one hectare that is all hand-harvested, fermented with indigenous yeasts and spends about one year in primarily used barrique. The result is a remarkable ...

94 points James Halliday: "Multi-clone, wild-fermented in French oak (10% new), 10 months maturation. Generous and rich, with nectarine and white peach to the fore, neatly tightened on the finish by grapefruit/citrus acidity." (11/2017)

95 points Wine & Spirits: "If you've never been blown away by a California sauvignon blanc, you owe it to yourself to taste this wine. Over half of the fruit comes from an old vineyard that Joe Rochioli, Jr., planted in 1959; it's now farmed by his son Tom. Old vines, as well as the sunny, temperate climate and stony soil along the banks of the Russian River, drew the fruit to a precise, focused intensity in 2016. You'll find ripe, luscious flavors of papaya and peach -even redder tones of wild strawberry- tied to a profound sense of mineral depth. For a...

This family-owned domaine dates back to 1804, and is located in a tiny Loire village named St-Julien-de Chédon. Since 2009, Laurent Benoist has been at the helm, focusing his efforts on sustainable farming and pure, terroir-driven wines. As a region, Touraine has the flexibility to plant a wide range of varieties, so it’s different from the more formal areas such as Vouvray, which only allows Chenin Blanc, or Sancerre, which only allows Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. In Touraine, they can grow Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Malbec, Cabernet ...

Neal Martin writes: "Located in the heart of the village of Puligny is Domaine Pernot-Belicard, a less well-known producer perhaps, though their premises are certainly impressive. The internet seems undecided on whether it is “Belicart” or “Belicard”, though it should be the latter and without hyphen. I met with Philippe Pernot, the son of Paul Pernot, who established the domaine with his wife in 2009. His approach in the vineyard is one of lutte raisonee..."

93 points Vinous: "The 2016 Chardonnay Estate is a terrific introduction to the Stonestreet Chardonnays. Citrus, apricot, mint and a dash of new oak add nuance to this finely cut mountain Chardonnay. The Estate Chardonnay is another wine that delivers serious quality for the money. Silky and textured, the 2016 hits all the right notes. What a gorgeous wine it is. (AG) " (07/2018) 92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2016 Chardonnay Estate is another wine sourced from higher elevation sites and was barrel fermented and aged. It offers a classic style in its bake...

94 points James Suckling: "Another very exotic white from Yeringberg, which remains focused and dialed-in. Dried pineapple is the main attraction on the nose, as well as apple pastries, red grapefruit, passion fruit and praline. An acutely smoky undertone, too. Round and opulent on the palate, but it is still very much in check. This is all thanks to a refreshing layer of acidity through the mid-palate, carrying this long through the finish. " (06/2018) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Hints of roasted cashew accent lemon-curd notes on the nos...

Neal Martin writes: "Vina Koyle is one of best-known wineries in Colchagua Valley. It was founded in 2006 by Alfonso Undurraga Mackenna along with his three sons when they acquired 1,100 hectares in Los Lingues, located in the foothills of the Andes."

90-93 points Wine Spectator: "This white delivers tangy fleur de sel, thyme, lemon and white asparagus notes, with good zing for the vintage. (JM, Web-2019)" 91 points Decanter: "This has grassy Sauvignon notes with juice running through it and clear sense of balance and grip. It's a good white wine, full of pleasure, not as soaring as the best vintages here, but still plenty to talk about. 25% new oak was used with integral fermentation. (JA)" (03/2019) 89-91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Clos Floridene 2018 Blanc gives tropical scents o...

90-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Once again the oak regimen is subtle but not invisible as it frames the lightly exotic aromas of orange peel, lychee and pear compote. The exceptionally rich and succulent middle weight plus flavors coat the palate with sap while exhibiting fine depth and length on the balanced finish where the wood resurfaces. This should drink well young but have no problems aging over the mid-term." (10/2018) 92 points James Suckling: "A very fresh and fine nose with lemon-drenched, crushed stones, making a striking impressio...

2016 DeLoach Russian River Valley Chardonnay (Elsewhere $18+) (Elsewhere $18+)
Top Pick!
93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Chardonnay Estate is scented of croissant, pastry and lemon cream with ripe yellow fruits and tropical touches in the background. Medium to full-bodied with a creamy texture, it has good layers of ripe fruit, creamy and honeyed nuts in the mouth with a long finish. (EB) 93+" (04/2019) 92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Notes of ripe lemon and orchard fruits, as well as a touch of spice and salty minerality, emerge from the 2016 Chardonnay Estate. Medium to full-bodied, nicely textured, with good acidity and fresh...

90 points Wine Enthusiast: "The ripe, creamy character of Alvarinho from the Monção and Melgaço subregion of Vinho Verde gives this wine a smooth character that is sharpened by touches of minerality. It is packed with refreshing fruitiness from the lingering juicy acidity. (RV)" (11/2019) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Alvarinho is dry, with 1.51 grams of residual sugar, 6.5 of total acidity and 12.5% alcohol. There is no added carbonation. Showing good concentration for the price level, but a touch of leanness overall, this nonetheless has b...

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Brioche and almond flavors meet a sleek, smooth and tightly focused core in this meticulously made white. Apple, pear and lemon meringue provide complexity on the midpalate before finishing crisp and slightly spicy. *Editor's Choice* (VB)" (11/2018)

The Reserve d'O Blanc is a small one acre parcel on the domaine that is co-planted with Chenin Blanc, Roussanne and Grenache Blanc. The Chenin is not legally allowed in the Terrasses du Larzac appellation, so it is declassifed to the IGP Saint Guilhem le Desert. Another interesting thing about this parcel: it is co-harvested in one pass, pressed together and co-fermented. Elevage is in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness in the wine. Wildly unique and super cool wine. *Biodynamic, Natural Wine*

92 points Wine & Spirits: "Catalan-based Cordoníu Raventós started this project in Carneros 25 years ago, and this is the highest score we’ve yet awarded to an Artesa wine. It’s made by Portuguese-born Ana Diogo Draper, who joined Artesa in 2013, becoming director of winemaking in 2015. It’s as targeted as a bee sting, with scents of wildflower honey and beeswax. The texture has some apple-butter richness, but the clarity and freshness of the fruit keeps it bouncy, clean enough to serve with a grilled octopus salad, and substantial enough to take on butt...

Jayson Pahlmeyer has been producing highly sought-after wines since 1986. It began with Jayson's dream to make world-class Bordeaux-style wine from Napa Valley. Pahlmeyer's estate vineyard - Waters Rance - is situated at 2100 feet in the Atlas Peak appellation of Napa Valley. It is the key source for their Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec and Chardonnay. Jayson's passion eventually led him to the Sonoma Coast, where less than seven miles and two ridges from the Pacific Ocean, he planted Wayfarer Farm, their key source for ...

93 points Decanter: "Exceptionally fresh with lightly seasoned oak and punchy orchard fruits aromas. A ripe palate with decent acidity, green fruits and herbs to finish." (05/2019) 91 points James Suckling: "A subtle and delicate pinot grigio with white flowers, citrus and sliced green apples. Medium body, bright acidity and a fresh finish. Drink now." 90 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Light gold-colored, the 2018 Châteauneuf Du Pape Blanc offers a classic bouquet of Meyer lemons, tart peach, and spice. It's medium-bodied, with solid depth of fruit, nicely integrated acidity, and a clean finish. It's very much in the style of this fresher, more moderately concentrated vintage (for the whites) and ideal for drinking over the coming 3-5 years. The blend is 20% each of Grenache Blanc, Picpoul, Bourboulenc, Roussanne, and Clairette, brought up in a mix of vessels." (08/2019) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate...
