2003 Haut-Brion Blanc, Pessac-Léognan
Back In Stock!
97 points Robert Parker: "Although limited in availability, Haut-Brion Blanc is the Rolls Royce of the dry white wines of Graves. The colossal 2003 is super-rich, full-bodied, and unctuously-textured with plenty of fig, melon, honeysuckle, and bees' wax characteristics in addition to enormous concentration and a huge finish. Remarkably, the grapes for this cuvee were harvested in mid-August. It should evolve and drink well for 30+ years." (04/06)

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 Chardonnay South River Vineyard possesses tropical fruit notes with hints of wet stones and minerals, a deep light gold/straw color, medium to full body, and good concentration. " (02/2005) 92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright yellow. Complex, soil-inflected aromas of iodine, violet and resiny oak. Dense and chewy but with a silky texture; complex flavors of iodine, licorice, quinine and pear skin are nicely framed by integrated acidity. Finishes persistent and fresh. This is a...

94 points Robert Parker: "A new single vineyard offering made from Mt. Eden fruit, the 2003 Chardonnay Rachael’s Vineyard (3 barrels) tastes like liquid stone interwoven with honeysuckle. It is a ripe, mineral-laden Chardonnay with excellent acidity and intensity as well as a tremendous finish." (12/05)

Bid on this 2-half-bottle lot of 2003 Dönnhoff Norheimer Dellchen Riesling Auslese Nahe (375ml) (98RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Undoubtedly the finest 2003 Auslese I tasted is Dönnhoff’s majestic 2003 Riesling Auslese Norheimer Dellchen. Its immensely complex aromas reveals a plethora of fresh herbs, minerals, slate, and apples. On the palate, this wine reveals a depth of stupendous proportions. Powerful, yet refined, it has the ethereal qualities that mark this brilliant winemaker’s best cuvées. Combining the vintage’s sensual nature with exquisite precision and refinement, this gem displays crystalline minerals enrobed in red berries whose effects linger throughout its long, sublime finish. Wow! Projected maturity: 2007-2030. Bravo to Helmut Dönnhoff for this magical line-up! (PR)" (12/2004)

Bid on this bottle of 2003 Domaine Raveneau Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos" (95RP, 91BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 Chablis Grand Cru Clos is still full of life, wafting from the glass with aromas of yellow orchard fruit, crème brûlée, confit lemon and warm oatmeal. On the palate, it's full-bodied, deep and textural, with a lavishly glossy attack and a deep, concentrated core that's amply endowed with chewy extract, concluding with a strikingly long finish. Given its gourmand, sun-kissed profile, this is certainly an atypical Les Clos, yet the slow pace of its evolution and its incredible intensity belie any facile generalizations about warm vintages. I suspect that as it matures, the terroir will become more and more prominent. Anyone wishing to speculate as to what a great 1947 Chablis might have tasted like in its youth should contemplate a bottle of Raveneau's 2003 Clos. (WK)" (08/2018)
