2018 Domaine Petroni Corse Blanc (Corsica)
Top Pick!
92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "More tart citrus, passion fruits, and pineapple notes emerge from the medium-bodied 2018 Domaine Petroni (100% Vermentino), which offers racy acidity, terrific balance, and a great finish. It’s another smoking good white from this estate that shines for its purity, balance, and length. I love it." (07/2019) 90 points Wine Enthusiast: "Crisply textured and with minerality, this fruity wine is still young and bursting with life. Acidity and freshness are balanced by a nervy texture that will soften and open. Drink this wine from l...

Domaine Vico, the only vineyard located in Corsica’s interior, is located a one-hour drive south of St-Florent. The vineyard setting is magnificent, between 300 and 400m in altitude, with nearby peaks rising to 2,200m. In the summer growing season, daytime temperatures can reach 35°C, while at night they can drop to below 15°C. Domaine Vico has two parcels of vines. The 80ha around Ponte Leccia, which has two distinct soil types (one section, river pebbles and sandy-clay, the other, mostly clay and limestone, interspersed with schist), is planted with Ve...

A beautiful terroir skillfully worked by Jérômine Paret and Philippe Garnier. Responding to the call of her parents, Jérômine gave up a career as an English teacher to take over the family estate. She then studied business and allied herself with Philippe Garnier, who has one goal in mind: to achieve excellence. She does not regret her choices today and her customers don't either! Thus, the estate evolves each year with new wines and techniques. The organically-farmed vineyards are planted mostly to Marsanne, and this is reflected in the blend, which als...

Agnés and her father Henri Gaussen cultivate the vineyards of the Château de la Noblesse as their ancestors have done for five generations. The vines are located around the 18th-century castle. Their Bandol blanc is a blend of Clairette, Ugni Blanc and Vermentino from their 14-hectare estate vineyard located in the basin of Le Beausset, where it benefits from maximum sunshine and very little rain.

Situated on the hills above Nice, Chateau de Bellet was part of a baronial estate established in 1777. Today, a historic chapel sits at the heart of a modern winery that has produced many notable wines including the "Baron G" blanc that was served at the royal wedding of Prince Albert II, Prince of Monaco, to Charlene Wittstock. According to the winery, the wine is more than 90% Rolle with the rest Chardonnay and pale gold in color with fragrant notes of cedar and bergamot and flavors of honey and grapefruit followed by a bright and savory finish.

Situated on the hills above Nice, Chateau de Bellet was part of a baronial estate established in 1777. Today, a historic chapel sits at the heart of a modern winery that has produced many notable wines. This estate white is produced from a 3.2-hectare parcel of Vermentino vines which average 30 years old and produce very limited yields of high-quality, organically grown grapes. The wine is citric and floral in tone with the grapes macerated at cold temperatures and the wine fermented and aged for 10 months in 500-liter oak barrels.

From the importer: "The vineyards of Clos Sainte Magdeleine are particularly stunning. They jut out on a private cape to meet majestic limestone cliffs, poised spectacularly above the sparkling, azure Mediterranean. With landscapes such as these, it is only fitting that writers and poets alike have found inspiration in Cassis. Only a handful of vignerons today are fortunate enough to produce A.O.C. Cassis, and the small quantities available are largely consumed locally with fresh fish—the best way to enjoy them. The Sack-Zafiropulos family has been makin...

The Bagnol Cassis Blanc comes from a property in southern France situated beneath a behemoth limestone outcropping called Cap Canaille, and it is just 200 meters from the Mediterranean. The vineyards are cooled by a trio of winds--the Tramontane, Mistral, and Gregal--plus sea breezes, and the wines, both a blanc and rosé, are reflective of all of these factors. A blend of Marsanne, Clairette, and Ugni Blanc, this dry, juicy wine tastes like white fruit and ocean spray, and it's the perfect match for bouillabaisse and other seafood dishes.
