This 14-hectare estate has belonged to the Gaussen family for six generations. Located in one of the warmer and drier parts of Bandol, its soils are heavy in clay and limestone, meaning that most of the vineyard labor is done by hand out of necessity. Produced from old vines (and therefore from smaller grapes) the resulting wines are full and flavorful. When drunk young, the flavors of this wine are licorice, morello cherry and blackcurrant; and after 10 years of good keeping they have the aromas of leather, undergrowth, licorice, truffles, venison.
