91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The smoked bacon-scented, medium to dark ruby-colored 1999 Clos Vougeot is an outstanding, medium to full-bodied wine. Silky-textured, pure, and sultry, it is a well-focused, decadently styled, spicy blackberry, candied blueberry, and cherry-flavored offering. Its thick yet juicy layers of dense fruits coat the palate. While it is packed with super-ripe flavors, they are well-delineated. Its impressively long finish reveals loads of supple, cherry-coated tannin. This wonderful Clos Vougeot should be consumed b...

2017 Domaine d'Eugénie Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Top Pick!
94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A distinctly cool and very reserved nose only grudgingly offers up notes of red current, dark cherry and spice and freshly turned earth. There is excellent vivacity to the equally big-bodied and powerful flavors that also possess excellent mid-palate concentration, all wrapped in a succulent but entirely serious youthfully austere finish that is quite firmly structured. Over the last few years the Clos de Vougeot appears to have taken over the crown as the best wine in the range and so it is again in 2017." (01/2020)...

91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Soft wood and herbal tea notes combines with those of dark currant, raspberry and spice wafts. There is both good verve and detail to the nicely focused and relatively powerful flavors that display firm but not rustic tannins on the youthfully austere finale where the wood suggested by the nose reemerges." 93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is performing very well, wafting from the glass with a deep-pitched bouquet of cassis, wild berries, incense, rich soil tones and woodsmoke. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, layered and broad-shouldered, with a deep and layered core, rich structuring tannins and ripe but succulent acids. Long and sapid, this is another excellent Clos Vougeot from Faiveley, and this cuvée seems to go from strength to strength every year. (WK)" (01/2020) 92-94 points Allen Meadows - Bu...

2017 Domaine Drouhin-Laroze Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (Previously $180) (Previously $180)
Back In Stock!
92-94 points Vinous: "The 2017 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is completely de-stemmed and matures in 80% new oak. It has an expressive and aromatic bouquet with pretty blueberry, raspberry and iodine aromas that burst from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, very effervescent from the start with vivid red and black fruit infused with orange zest and light fig notes. Very fine. (NM)" (01/2019) 89-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Firm reduction overshadows the fruit at present. More positively, there is excellent energy and density ...

92-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is very ripe, indeed to the point where the cassis, warm earth and softly floral-scented aromas exhibit hints of mocha. In much the same fashion as the Clos St. Denis there is a relatively sleek mouth feel to the solidly intense and muscular larger-scaled flavors that possess a lovely sense of harmony and excellent complexity on the lingering finish that is a bit less youthfully austere than usual." (04/2018) 94 points Wine Spectator: "Black cherry and blackberry compote flavors hold court in this fruit-fil...

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru is showing very well, soaring from the glass with aromas of wild berries, rose petals, violets, orange rind and dark chocolate. On the palate, it's full-bodied, concentrated and muscular, with lively acids and a powdery but elegantly refined chassis of structuring tannins, concluding with a long and resonant finish. (WK)" (01/2020) 92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This plays right on the edge of volatile acidity with its nose of poached plum, black raspberry and warm earth. ...

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Domaine Anne Gros Clos Vougeot Grand Cru "Grand Maupertui" (95DC, 93VN, 92BH, 92RP, 92ST). Decanter: "Although growers in the Côte de Nuits were mostly ecstatic with 2002's quality, there were doubters too. But this tremendous wine proves them wrong. The nose is charming, lifted and pure, displaying great finesse. In contrast, the palate is rich and full-bodied, with weight, volume and a forceful, assertive character. This is showing admirable depth and persistence, and it's still going strong, with excellent balance and length. Drinking Window 2018 - 2035 (SB)" (02/2018)
Starting Bid: $580.00

Bid on this bottle of 2003 Dominique Laurent Clos Vougeot Grand Cru ((93-96ST)). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(80% of this wine comes from the prime Grand Maupertuis section of the vineyard and was harvested on September 6, according to Laurent) Ruby-red. Superripe, liqueur-like aromas of raspberry, meat, gunflint and roast coffee. Huge, broad and extremely deep, with the raspberry, mineral and meat flavors continuing through the wine. Finishes with extraordinary breadth, with the major tannins coating the entire mouth and dusting the front teeth. Wow! Laurent says this is 14.2% alcohol and was not acidified. (ST)" (03/2005)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine d'Eugénie Clos Vougeot Grand Cru ((93-95ST), 94RP, 93BH, 93DC). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good bright red with ruby tones. Precise aromas of black cherry, licorice and herbs. Spicy and penetrating on the palate; a bit strict but offers a great combination of sweetness and minerality. At once classy and powerful, finishing with a lingering element of saline minerality and firm, noble tannins that saturate the entire mouth." (01/2013)
Starting Bid: $300.00

Bid on this bottle of 2011 Domaine Ponsot Clos Vougeot Grand Cru Cuvée Vieilles Vignes ((93-96BH), (91-92JG)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is also brooding and reticent with an intensely earthy nose of both red and dark pinot fruit that is trimmed in hints of game, leather and herbal tea. The old vines are very much in evidence as there is a true abundance of palate soaking dry extract that imparts a velvety mouth feel to the mid-palate and buffers the very firm tannins on the youthfully austere, complex and hugely long finish. This is seriously impressive. *Don't Miss!*" (01/2013)
Starting Bid: $242.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Domaine Faiveley Clos Vougeot Grand Cru ((92-95BH), (89-92ST)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Subtle oak spice and ripe plum and black raspberry aromas introduce rich, round and chiseled, muscular and very full-bodied sappy flavors that culminate in a punchy, robust and ultra powerful finish. This is a huge, indeed massive but not heavy or excessively rich wine that maintains a wonderful sense of balance. *Don't Miss*" (01/2005)
