2009 La Gaffelière, St-Emilion
Top Pick!
95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An absolutely spectacular effort, the 2009 is one of the all-time great La Gaffelieres produced. One would have to go back to the 2005, 1947 or 1961 to find this level of quality from this ancient, historic vineyard planted adjacent to the walls of St.-Emilion, on the Cote Pavie. Dating back to the 1400s, this estate has been owned for over three centuries by the Malet-Roquefort family. Composed of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon (in the past it was two-thirds Merlot and the rest split between Cabernet Sauv...

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Baron Louis Cotes du Rhone, made from six grapes (40% Grenache and the rest various proportions of Syrah, Cinsault, Carignan, Mourvedre and Counoise) displays gamey balsam wood notes intermixed with underbrush, forest floor, black currants, sweet cherries and a hint of mulberries. There are plenty of various berry fruits and spices in this wine, which is complex and should continue to drink well for 7-8 years." (10/2011) 90 points Wine Spectator: "A rock-solid red, with crushed plum and fig fruit layer...

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 70% Merlot and the rest equal parts Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine has an opaque purple color and a sweet nose of vanillin, roasted coffee beans, chocolate and kirsch liqueur intermixed with blacker fruits such as cassis. It is rich, full-bodied, moderately tannic, but low in acidity and quite heady and powerful (15% natural alcohol). This impressive wine is a big, back-strapping effort to drink over the next 15+ years. Produced by Sylvie Pourquet, the sister of Gerard and Dominique Be...

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Conservatively, the 2009 Ermitage l’Ermite (702 cases) needs 25-30 years of cellaring. Another monumental effort from Michel Chapoutier, it possesses copious notes of smoky asphalt, black truffles, pen ink, graphite and blackberry liqueur intermixed with hints of flowers and crushed rocks. Extremely full-bodied with abundant sweet tannins, amazing penetration on the palate and a long finish, this historic effort should age effortlessly for 50-100+ years. (98+)" (12/2011) 98 points Wine Spectator: "This has a ta...

91-93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Smoothly polished wine, lovely blackberry jelly flavors and sweet fruit. Ripe, juicy with wood and a potentially good structure. (RV)" (08/2010) 87-90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright purple-ruby. Highly floral nose offers scents of lavender, lily, violet, blackberry, cedar and graphite. Lush, rich and sweet on entry, with rich black fruit and smoky underbrush flavors given adequate lift by lively acidity. Finishes pure, clean and long, with a trace of warmth, lingering notes of minerals and coff...

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This bottle of the 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Chante le Merle Vieilles Vignes was singing at full and amazingly youthful voice this June. Black cherry fruit dominated the nose of this big, rich, tannic beast, which still has years ahead of it. Full-bodied and velvety, with a long, concentrated finish, I could see it aging through 2030. Nicolas Boiron, who runs his family's estate, is a huge man with an equal-sized personality. Quick to laugh and joke, he's a pleasure to spend time with in the cellar, even if his s...

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Syrah Halcon comes across as powerful, implosive and very young. The 2009 is quite a bit more refined than the 2010. It shows notable richness, power and depth in a cool, mineral-infused style that is immensely appealing. Today that Halcon isn’t showing much expression in its aromas and flavors, rather it is the wine’s energy that stands out most. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2021. " (02/2012) 93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Saturated ruby. A highly perfumed bouquet evokes dark ber...

2009 Le Bon Pasteur, Pomerol
Back In Stock!
94 points James Suckling: "Tight and very pretty with pure fruit and ultra-fine tannins. Full body, super refined and beautiful. Yes. Why wait? " (10/2016) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A brilliant effort from well-known oenologists Dany and Michel Rolland, the 2009 Bon Pasteur is dominated by Merlot, with a touch of Cabernet Franc included in the blend. It reveals textbook notes of mocha, tobacco leaf, blackberries, black cherries, roasted coffee and wood smoke. Full-bodied and luscious with a succulent, beautifully textured, multidimensio...

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The more closed but potentially greater 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Grand Vin State Lane Vineyard is a 480-case blend of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Its dense ruby/purple color is followed by notes of licorice, creme de cassis, camphor and subtle toast. Full-bodied and concentrated, it represents 15% of the total Kapcsandy production. The wine finished with 13.7% alcohol, which in these days is relatively low, although the alcohol levels were down in 2009 through 2011 because of the...

100 points James Suckling: "Blueberries, currants and Indian spices on the nose follow through to a full body, with ultra-fine tannins and a lovely finish. It's intense and refined. A beauty. It goes on for minutes. Speechless. Better and cleaner than the great 1990." (03/2012) 100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Harvested between September 17 and October 5, this wine seems always open for business, so to speak, much like the great 1982s. The summer of 2009 was very hot and dry, which got the harvest off to a reasonably early start. The blend wa...

2009 K Vintners "Morrison Lane" Walla Walla Valley Syrah
Back In Stock!
94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From a cobbled block of mature vines south of Walla Walla and very near the site of Smith’s new estate plantings, his 2009 Syrah Morrison Lane opens dramatically with pungent scents of wood smoke, resin, tar, soy, huckleberry and cassis, whose counterparts reconvene on a sappy, expansive, finely tannic palate leading to a piquant, gripping finish so forceful and energetic it leaves my tongue aquiver. The sort of pedal-to-the-(heavy) metal wine for which Smith is known (or notorious), this is, nonetheless, complet...

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard is one of the great wines of the vintage. It brings together gorgeous aromatics, juicy, expressive red fruit and silky tannins. Now seemingly past a period of closure post-bottling, the 2009 looks like a wine that will drink well pretty much throughout its entire life. The 2009 is a totally sexy Cabernet endowed with stunning depth and a rich, enveloping personality. This is pure Araujo and pure Eisele. (AG)" (12/2012) 95 points Vinous: "Dark red-ruby. Musky, deep nos...

89-91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Volnay is a soft, caressing wine. The bouquet is open and expressive, while the fruit reveals considerable nuance. There is a hint of firmness to the tannins, but there is enough fruit to provide balance. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019. (NM)" (05/2011) Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red. Pretty, floral aromas of red raspberry and cherry. Smooth, pure and fruit-driven, with good lift and underlying spiciness. Not particularly sweet or fleshy but juicy and bright, with a firm, pe...

93 points Vinous: "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Martha's Vineyard is a relatively immediate Marthas, with a real feeling of mid-palate density and weight that is almost out of character for this estate. Sweet, silky tannins give the 2009 much of its succulence. Scents of mint, pine and eucalyptus wrap around the juicy, inviting finish. (AG)" (10/2015) Wine Spectator: "Shows notable herb, mint and bay leaf overtones, with a tight, dense core of dried currant and berry that is slow to open. This is very shut down for now, and should age for a long time. T...

2009 Quilceda Creek "Galitzine Vineyard" Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Back In Stock!
96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Also incredibly concentrated, with burly structure and a mountain of tannin, the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Galitzine Vineyard (99% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Merlot) delivers a seriously intense array of blackberry and kirsch-styled fruit, licorice, charcoal and spice box on both the nose and palate. Aged for 22 months in 100% new French oak and a big, broad shouldered, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon, it possesses a rocking mid-palate and fabulous length on the finish. Really showing the power of its Red Mountain te...

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (97RP, 97ST, 97VN, 96WS, 93DC). Vinous: "Stylistically, the 2009 Harlan Estate has quite a bit in common with the 2012, namely soft contours, plush fruit and tons of sheer immediacy. Now with a few years in bottle, the 2009 is just beginning to show the first signs of aromatic development. Deep, creamy and pliant, the 2009 can be enjoyed now, although it is sure to gain complexity over the next two decades. (AG)" (09/2017)

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Cade "Estate" Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 93WS, 91VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a big, rich, seamless wine endowed with gorgeous depth and plushness. Dark red fruit, licorice, spices and menthol are some of the notes that take shape in the glass in this big, powerful Cabernet Sauvignon. A rich, textured finish rounds things out in style. This is a very strong set of wines from Cade, the Howell Mountain sister property of Plumpjack. Winemaker Tony Biagi and his team have crafted a gorgeous set of 2009s and 2010s. The wines are very different stylistically, yet quite similar in terms of quality. The Howell Mountain bottling includes purchased fruit and a dollop of Merlot. The Estate bottling is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, naturally from the estate’s own vineyards, and tends to be vinified with 100% natural malos. Both wines are striking. (AG)" (12/2011)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2009 Cimarossa "Riva Di Ponente Vineyard" Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Riva di Ponente Vineyard flows across the palate with layers of dark blue and black fruit. Silky, polished tannins give the 2009 an element of suppleness that is quite pretty. This is a typical 2009. (AG)" (12/2011)

Of the 2009 Booker "Fracture" Paso Robles Syrah,Jeb Dunnuck writes: "One of the more structured vintages for this cuvee, the 100% Syrah, 2009 Booker Vineyard Syrah Fracture boasts smoking good aromatics of blackberry liqueur, smoked meats, solid minerality, and complex underbrush and floral nuances the show more with air. Full-bodied and seriously fruited and textured, yet with awesome focus, notable purity, and solid underlying tannin and structure, this knockout Paso Syrah needs a year or two of

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 La Lagune, Haut-Médoc (96JS, 93DC, 92VN, 91RP). James Suckling: "Fabulous aromas of licorice, flowers and blackcurrants follow through to a full body with wonderful silky and caressing tannins and a long, flavorful finish. It’s complex and exceptional. " (03/2015)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Michel Magnien Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Les Cazetieres" ((90-93BH), (90-92ST)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A more complex and more deeply pitched nose of violets, earth, game and a pretty mix of both red and largely blue berry fruit aromas marries into serious if not somber full-bodied flavors that possess an intense minerality on the mildly austere and impressively long finish. This is quite firm and unlike a number of wines in the range, may not drink quite as well young. *Outstanding*" (01/2011)
Starting Bid: $240.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Lagrange, St-Julien (94DC, 94VN, 94WE, (92-93JG), 93JS, 93RP, 92ST, 91W&S, 91WS). Vinous: "The 2009 Lagrange has a very fine bouquet, one of the more complex offering from the appellation, with blackberry, loam, truffle and leather aromas. I love the cohesion here. The palate is very well balanced with plenty of freshness, a killer line of acidity and wonderful precision towards the finish. I have liked this Lagrange from day one and now at 10 years it remains perhaps the most underrated cru within Saint-Julien. This is possibly the best bottle that I have encountered. Tasted at BI Wines & Spirits' Ten Year On tasting. (NM)" (03/2019)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Epoch Paso Robles Red Tasting Lot, including 2-bottles of 2009 Epoch "Ingenuity - Paderewski Vineyard" Paso Robles Red Blend (95JD, 94RP, 93ST, 92WS) and 1-bottle of 2009 Epoch "Veracity - Paderewski Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (94JD, 93ST, 93WS, 92RP). Of the 2009 Epoch "Ingenuity - Paderewski Vineyard" Paso Robles Red Blend,Jeb Dunnuck writes: "A blend of 65% Syrah, 12% Petite Sirah, 12% Mourvedre, 7% Grenache, and 4% Zinfandel, the 2009 Epoch Estate Wines Ingenuity Paderewski Vineyard is utterly captivating stuff. Possessing an inky purple color, it exhibits a complex, decadent array of smoky black fruits, underbrush, bramble, charred beef, and chocolate to go with a full-bodied, hedonistic palate that manages to exude fruit and texture, while at the same time holding on to a sense of elegance, poise, and class. This brilliant blend has solid concentration, ripe tannin, and a very well done, classically styled, and tannic finish. It needs plent

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac (99RP, 98DC, 98JS, 98VN, 98WS, 97ST, 96WE, (93-94JG)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Mouton-Rothschild is as concentrated as the 2010, but it presents itself in a more consumer-friendly, seductive style. Opulently textured and full-bodied with gorgeous levels of crème de cassis, melted licorice, espresso roast and chocolate, it possesses high but sweet, velvety tannins, massive body, and fabulous purity as well as length. This could turn out to be a candidate for perfection in another 8-10 years. It will drink well for 30-50 years, but will always be much more approachable and charming than its 2010 counterpart. (RP)" (12/2014)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Lascombes, Margaux (94JS, 94RP, 92ST, 92VN, 92WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009, which is inky blue/purple to the rim, is a final blend of 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 48% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot at 14% natural alcohol. The wine has a beautiful blueberry-scented nose with hints of acacia flowers, licorice, graphite and some subtle charcoal and background oak. Clearly a modern style of Margaux, it is pure, seamless, full-bodied and opulent, and the high glycerin and silky texture of 2009 are brilliantly displayed in this wine. Drink it over the next 15+ years, although it is certainly capable of lasting well past two decades. One of the more difficult estates to manage in southern Margaux is the 300 acres of Lascombes, subdivided into at least 40 to 50 separate plots, making harvest decisions, ripening, and related issues a strategic nightmare. Nevertheless, they seem to have hit pay dirt frequently over the last decade plus. (RP)" (12/2011)
Starting Bid: $145.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Torbreck "Run Rig" Shiraz Barossa Valley (99RP, 96ST, 95JH, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2009 RunRig opens with wonderful perfume, and though this label usually contains a splash of Viognier, which could account for the fragrant nose, it has none this vintage. Redolent of violets and blueberries it is very spicy with an undercurrent of anise and Indian spices muddled with mulberries. Taut and elegant on the palate, it gives plenty of concentrated fruit flavor with crisp acid and firm, fine tannins. It finishes long. (LPB)" (02/2013)
Starting Bid: $235.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Castello del Terriccio "Lupicaia" Toscana (OWC - 95VN, 94RP, 93JS) in original wood. Vinous: "Beautifully resonant in the glass, the 2009 Lupicaia is a standout. Sweet red cherries, flowers, mint, anise, savory herbs and spices all ring out in a supple, gracious wine loaded with class. The 2009 needs a few years for some of the contours to soften, but it is a gorgeous wine with tons of personality. This is a decidedly round, sexy Lupicaia that is going to offer plenty of enjoyment over the course of the next fifteen years or so. (AG)" (08/2013)
Starting Bid: $531.00

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon ((97-98JS), 98RP, 97WE, 96WS, 95CG, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Made entirely of Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2009 Hillside Select has a deep garnet color. Wow—it explodes from the glass with this atomic nose of crème de cassis, Black Forest cake, baked plums and boysenberries plus hints of licorice, mocha, cedar chest and pencil lead with a waft of garrigue. Full-bodied, the palate is a concentrated, full-on behemoth, possessing fantastic balance and expressiveness, finishing with epic length and a fantastically velvety texture. (LPB) 98+" (01/2020)

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Fuées" (92BH, 92RP, 91JG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Chambolle-Musigny Les Fuees impresses for its superb textural richness. Dark red cherries, flowers, mint and spices are woven together in a fabric of notable beauty. There is plenty of tannic material, but the fruit is so dense the wine’s structural elements are a bit in the background. The wine continued to close down in the glass, which is likely to be quite positive for its aging potential. Despite the massive temptation to drink this early, my impression is that patience will be rewarded. (AG)" (04/2012)
Starting Bid: $410.00

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Marcassin "Blue Slide Ridge" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (98RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The prodigious 2009 Pinot Noir Blue Slide Ridge reminds me of one of the great vintages of the DRC Vosne-Romanée. Notes of forest floor, jammy raspberries, blueberries, boysenberries and spring flowers are followed by a full-bodied, textured, layered mouthfeel, and great intensity, precision and freshness. This stunning 2009 is already showing considerable complexity, and should age effortlessly for 10-15 years. The visionary husband and wife team of John Wetlaufer and Helen Turley have created a largely unprecedented legacy of extraordinary quality that is unsurpassed by anyone else in Northern California. (RP)" (12/2013)
Starting Bid: $230.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Epoch "Authenticity - Paderewski Vineyard" Paso Robles Syrah-Mourvèdre (96JD, 96RP, 93ST, 93VN, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "We finished the tasting with the 2009 Authenticity, which I loved on release. It didn’t disappoint and gave up rocking black raspberry, cassis, lead pencil shavings and hints of chocolate in a full-bodied, beautifully textured style. It’s still fresh and lively, and will continue to shine through 2021 or beyond. (JD)" (08/2014)
Starting Bid: $92.00

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Kapcsándy "Grand Vin - State Lane Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 93VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Its dense ruby/purple color is followed by notes of licorice, creme de cassis, camphor and subtle toast. Full-bodied and concentrated, it represents 15% of the total Kapcsandy production. The wine finished with 13.7% alcohol, which in these days is relatively low, although the alcohol levels were down in 2009 through 2011 because of the cooler, less ripe years. (RP) 95+" (10/2013)
Starting Bid: $175.00

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Louis Jadot Beaune 1er Cru "150th Anniversary Cuvee" (94RP, 94VN, 91BH). Vinous: "The 2009 Beaune 1er Cru 150th Anniversary is every bit as magical as it has always been. There is a translucence to the fruit that is just remarkable. That is the good news. The not so good news is that the 2009 remains very tightly wound and in need of further cellaring. The aromatics are just starting to open up, but the tannins remain quite fierce. Readers who own the 2009 should be prepared to cellar it for at least a few years. There is an effortlessness to the 2009 that is hard to describe, but that gives the wine its sense of impeccable balance. Hints of sweet pipe tobacco, cedar, dried herbs and cherry add the closing shades of aromatic nuance to this gorgeous, compelling Beaune from Jadot. The 2009 is a blend of 17 different sites. (AG)" (05/2018)
Starting Bid: $59.00

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Bryant Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon ((97-98JS), 97RP, 96VN, 96WE, 95WS). James Suckling: "Insane nose of pure cassis, minerals, and gorgeous flowers. This is stunning. Full and juicy, with amazing layers of fruit, from cassis to blueberries and hints of vanilla on the great finish. " (04/2011)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Giuseppe Quintarelli Rosso Cà del Merlo (94W&S). Wine & Spirits: "Quintarelli’s 2009 Ca’ del Merlo unfolds in layers of red berries, balsamic herbs and tingly spices, each flavor surfacing with precision before giving way to the next. The wine gains power with exposure to air, its cool, mineral tannins knitting the flavors together as hints of black olive and roasted red pepper begin to emerge. Ca’ del Merlo is a vineyard comprised of corvina and corvinone, with smaller percentages of cabernet sauvignon and franc, nebbiolo, croatina and sangiovese. Half of the grapes begin fermentation immediately, while the rest are air-dried for two months before fermentation to concentrate the flavors. The wine is later racked onto the Amarone lees to begin a second fermentation in the ripasso style, and aged in large Slavonian casks for seven years. The wine maintains a youthful freshness and vigor amid its layered complexity, executing a tricky balance between den
Starting Bid: $165.00

Bid on this bottle of 2009 E. Guigal "La Turque" Côte-Rôtie (100JD, 100RP, 98WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another perfect wine is the 2009 Cote Rotie La Turque. It possesses a slightly denser purple color than the opaque Cote Rotie La Mouline as well as notes of Asian spices, roasted meats, bouquet garni, spring flowers, camphor and truffles. It is a different expression of Syrah as this comes from the more iron-laden soils of the Cote Brune. Although never as aromatic, precocious or enjoyable as La Mouline is in its youth, La Turque is, nevertheless, a remarkably concentrated, profound wine that is built like a skyscraper. It possesses a level of intensity and richness that must be tasted to be believed. (RP)" (12/2012)
Starting Bid: $351.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac (98DC, 98RP, 97VN, 96ST, 96WE, 95JS, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Revealing incredible quality and performing better than it did from barrel, the 2009 appears to be the greatest Pichon Longueville Baron since the 1990 and 1989. An amazing opaque blue/purple color is followed by scents of spring flowers, graphite, smoky charcoal, incense, blackberries, blueberries and hints of coffee and chocolate. Incredibly intense, pure and flawlessly constructed with extravagant layers of fruit and richness, this offering has developed beautifully under the management of Christian Seeley. It is a voluptuous, opulent Pichon Longueville Baron that may eclipse anything they have made in the past. This brilliant wine should be at its peak between 2018 and 2045. (RP)" (12/2011)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Mollydooker "Velvet Glove" Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia (97JD, 96RP, 96WS). Jeb Dunnuck: "The estate’s top Shiraz, the 2009 Mollydooker Shiraz Velvet Glove is a gorgeous bottle of wine! 100% McLaren Value Shiraz, aged in 97% new American oak, the wine exudes class and charm with decadent blackberry and cherry fruits, chocolate ganache, vanilla, meat juice, and coffee bean like aromas and flavors. Despite the overall size here, this stays beautifully focused and fresh, showing not only solid purity of fruit, but also a layered, already complex profile. Full bodied, well defined, and clean on the palate, with the expected mouth-coating richness, but also fine-grained tannin structure and real density and depth to the mid-palate, this stunning wine should improve over the coming 1-3 years, and have a solid 10-15 year drink window. Superb stuff!" (06/2011)
Starting Bid: $230.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Alain Hudelot-Noellat Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Suchots" (93BH, 93ST, 91RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A highly complex and very Vosne nose features mild wood influence along with abundant spice notes on the red currant, plum and black cherry fruit and violet suffused aromas that are very much in keeping with the rich, seductive and velvet-textured flavors that evidence controlled power. This is quite suave but there is fine definition, focus and excellent length. In a word, terrific. *Outstanding*" (01/2012)
Starting Bid: $690.00

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (97RP, 96CG, 96WE, 95VN, 92JS, 91W&S, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Petit Verdot and 4% Merlot, the deep garnet colored 2009 Insignia soars out of the glass with beautifully expressed cassis, baked plums and blackberry preserves scents plus nuances of rose hip tea, potpourri, cigar box, crushed rocks, raked leaves and tapenade. Medium to full-bodied, the tannins here are just incredible—soft, fine-grained, wonderfully knit—backed up with lovely freshness and all those fragrant black fruit flavors, finishing long and earthy. (LPB)" (01/2020)

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Giacomo Conterno "Cascina Francia" Barolo (96RP, 95JS, 95VN, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Because Monfortino was not produced this vintage, the 2009 Barolo Cascina Francia benefits from the extra fruit that would have otherwise gone toward the world's most celebrated Barolo Riserva. I tasted the 2009 Barolo Cascina Francia in barrel two years ago and am delighted by its steady evolution. This is a wine of sophisticated intensity and persuasion. The bouquet peels back to reveal dark fruit, licorice, tar and dried rose. The vintage was warm, resulting in extra plumpness and roundness in terms of mouthfeel. The style is slightly more immediate, but this is a great aging wine nonetheless. (ML)" (06/2015)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Ettore Germano "Cerretta" Barolo (94RP, 93WE, 92ST, 92VN, 90DC). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Ettore Germano's 2009 Barolo Cerretta shows added layers of spice and tobacco that play a supporting role to generous fruit layers. The warm 2009 growing season has left its mark in terms of the ripeness and softness of the fruit. The Cerretta does a very good job of containing all that fruity generosity within the firmer context of its tannins. (ML)" (06/2013)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Henri Bonneau "Réserve des Célestins" Châteauneuf-du-Pape ((95-96VN), 95RP). Vinous: "Deep ruby. Seductive scents of ripe blackberry and boysenberry, singed plum and star anise, lifted by an intense floral topnote. Sweet, expansive dark fruit flavors show excellent concentration, with suggestions of licorice pastille and orange pith giving the wine an exotic character. Shows outstanding clarity and power on the extremely long finish, which is shaped by smooth, slow-building tannins. (JR)" (04/2015)
